A small stream off in the distance ripples through the land under the shade of the forest. Forest roses grow along the edge of the stream fighting for light that the forest is unwilling to provide. Birds chirp off in the distance but become silent for unknown reasons. Deer stop for a drink but move on always sensing something unseen. Occasionally trout will rise to the surface feeding off the insects that fall into the current and find themselves swept off downstream to an unknown fate. All is quiet and serene looking from the outside. Like the river, though, the wilds of this land are unpredictable and dangerous. Some say gods walk these woods looking for peace that the forest may provide. Very few mortals have passed through these woods though and have lived to tell about it. Those who have attempted have come up missing, or worse. Those that were found would tell tales of the unthinkable horrors that lie beyond the borders of the forest. Only the legends exist now of this place and the dangers that lye in wait for all who enter. For the few that make it out alive, they find themselves partially changed physically and mentally from what they call pools of magic. The very raw form of magic that formed this forest. The Elvin communities that lie on the borders of the forest warn all who enter of the dangers of disturbing the natural order of this forest. What they truly fear, they are unwilling to tell. As night falls over the forest, the mists from unknown sources rise from the depths of the forest floor covering the ground in green mists. Looming high above the forest, several crystalline looking mountain peaks sparkle in the night sky. As the moon rises, the crystal protrusions of the mountain cast a low, but clear light over the forest floor. The forest hides many secrets that lie in wait for the right moment to reveal what is hidden. Role play will begin when enough people have joined (At least five ) in on this adventure. Charachters can be any of the human Races. Elves, Regular Humans, Dwarves, Halflings, Half Orcs, Half Elves, and Gnomes. Rangers, Sorcerors(Shadow/light), Fighters, Rogues, Theives, Palidins, and clerics are common among these races. When creating a charachter Write up a history about the charachter and talk a little about the charachters abilities(If Any). Charachters need not be anything special, but the more charachters the more merry twisted Once enough people have joined in, the Adventureing party will set off to whatever lies beyond the forest edge. Good Luck

Nessa is an Elven warrior. She has unmatched skill with a bow and arrow and can shoot anything with deadly accuracy from almost any distance. She also can use swords and staffs when her bow and arrow are unavailable or unnecessary. She has the ability to know when danger is nearby. She cannot read minds or move objects with her mind but she can become invisible when she feels threatened. Nessa is a full blood Elf and comes from a long line of elite warriors that have served the Elven court for generations. She was always taught to succeed well beyond and was top in her class for all training that she received. She has never been in love but she believes one day to find the man or elf that will become her soulmate. She loves hunting in the forests of her realm. She has also been asked on occasion to help hunt down criminals or beasts that have terrorized surrounding villages. She has never lost a fight.

NPC.Torm is a Knight of the Arcane Order. He specializes in dragon slaying and overall fighting with use of both martial prowess with a limited use of magic. His goal as a Knight of the Arcane Order is to deal with any danger to society and to the Arcane Arts. Due to the number of draconic encounters while battleing, he has specialized in dragon slayinig...the biggest danger to the Knights of the Arcane. He Dons thick heavily plated platinum armor that is lined with red dragon scales for even more protection. He carries two large Greatswords that shine when light hits them. He will be ranked in with the rest of the adventurers.

NPCElminster of Shadowdale "Taken from Several of the Forgotten Realms books for those who like a good read that is funny and adventurous" is known by many in this realm as the Old Sage by many of his fellow friends and sometimes as an old meddler by his enemies. He has a knack for knowing what is going on throught the realms (He's nosy). Although he can be quite the jokester when in a good mood, he is by far the most dangerous of Arc Mages thoughout the realms. HE is feared by all who opose him. He has lived an extremely long life (Unnatural due to the magic he weilds. He has by far seen it all. He is also quite the ladies man (Several lovers over his long life). Currently dealing with all aspects of threats to the realms, he can oftern be found in his tower deep within the woods near the town of shadowdale smokeing his Pipe that magically never stops smokeing. You often will smell the pipe smoke before you see him. He also has a weird sense of humor that takes time to get use to. Overall, the most powerful "human" living still. Armed with his late fathers trusty sword and Magic that some have never seen, he protects the realms from as much danger as he can. Not with the Adventureing group but needs to be sought out before entering the woods.

((Never let it be said I disappoint my friends...)) Alyssa is a hunter, born and bred. She is gifted in the ways of mystic arts, though she does yet know of this. It was prophesied that she would be the best at whatever task was set before her as long as she remained innocent, untouched by man. She can defeat anything that comes against her and has never lost her strength during battle. She remains invincible as long as the prophecy holds true and she does not ever give in to lust.

Kandor is not human and not elven, though from first glance you'd think so. He is a dark sorceror, though he was not born of this realm, he was born of the shadow realm. He is dark in nature and dispises light in any form. He can be in light, but does not like it and therefore does not function well in it. He is in the forest only because he has sensed a powerful aura there. He hopes to gain access to the power and use it for his own purposes. He does not harm innocent people though. He has a specially crafted long sword that was forged in the fires of the underworld and contains all the dark powers of the dark realm.

A group of four adventurers gather in front of the Elvin king of High Forest. Nessa, Torm, Alyssa, Raven, and Kandor wait patiently to find out what has driven the Elvin king to search out these adventurers. Most of the time when problems occure, the elves themselves deal with them, but something grave has brought him to this. He sits upon his throne stareing out over the adventurers. waits for his queen to be seated next to him then turns his attetion back to the adventurers. "My fellow adventurers, you have been called here in the gravest of times. You have been chosen because you are the champions of your style of combat. Each one of you has a gift at doing something different of better than any other adventurer of your race. I applaude you all for comming at my request. Althhough you do not know this, there has been a disruption in the magic in a certain area deep within this forest. No magic has been able to pierce into this area of our forest and this area is where one of the elven strongholds are located. We have sent troops to the stronghold and havent heard from them since they arived a tenday ago. I ask that you find your way there and find out what exactly has befallen our brethren. Before doing this I will ask that you search out an ally to all elven kind. He will be useful to you on your quest. He has knowlege of the area and is by far the most powerful Arcmage known to be alive. He will aid you in your search for the stronghold. You must travel north for a day to a town known as shadowdale. Before you reach the actuall town you will come to a path that veers off the path that you are following and will head north. there you will come to Elminsters twisted tower. be cautious and good luck on your journey.
All the adventurers gather up all of their items and gear and begin travel north along the road to shadowdale. Day becomes night and the adventurers run in to no problems. The next morning when everyone is awake and have had something to eat they continue their journey. They come to a road that veers to the right that is marked by a sign well weathered from the environment, that says *Gone Gathering Spell Components* Torm chuckles to himself slightly at the words on the sign.Following the path they see a few more signs allong the way. *No Trespassing, Violaters Should Notify Next Of Kin*, *An Archmage Can React Poorly To Interuption, Please Reconsider Before it Is Too Late* . The last sign seen along the path before comming into view of an enormous old rickety tower is *This ancient path is cracked and paved with the bones of those who could not behave*. A chilling sweat form on Torrils brow as he realizes just what they have gotten themselves into. He had only heard stories of the old sage, but he knows that a sage can be quite unfriendly, but he keeps this to himself. Off in the distance is an old rickety tower. They all begin walking to the door at the front of the tower and begin to sense danger as several foul looking demonic creatures bust through the woods. Torm brings his sword to the ready and prepares for the battle is to come, but with that, everyone finds that they are unable to move as the creatures near closer and closer. Something peculiar happens. The air around them begins to thicken forming somewhat of a dome around them. turning their heads slightly toward the tower reaveals a Sorceror standing pointing an outstretched finger toward the adventurers. A tinny beam of red light exits the sorcerors hand and begind approaching the adventurersjust as the demons reach the edge of the barrier, the beam explodes and the world around the adventurers is covered in flames, but the invisible wall that surrounds them protects them, although they are still unable to move. after the fire dies down the sorceror walks up the the wall that covers the adventurers and frees them from their animated stasis. "Please come in. I have heard you would be comming. Please come in." He turns and walks to his tower.
When seated inside the adventurers take a seat in the nice comfortable chairs provided. As elminster begins to sit, it becomes apparent that he is smokeing a pipe that is completely white with arcane runes all about it. he releases the pipe and it hovers near by. His butler comes outy and hands all the adventurers a bowl of stew and then departs. Elminster begins telling tales of all his adventures and experiences untill complete bordom overtakes the adventurers. Soon though he cuts to the point "There has been strange things that have occured in the woods of High forest. most who have traveled there have not lived to tell about it. I know of the dangers hidden within the forest, although it has been probably over a hundred years since Ihave been there." Looking at Elminster, you all are unable to tell that he is so old, but you are able to tell he is human. Verry strange for humans in that the average human may live to 50 in these days of 1384 DR. He looks at the adventurers allowing them to have time to think about all they have heard and to ask any questions pertaining to their quest.

Raven is a warrior but he is not invincible. He is one of the best among his people, but only because of the incredible luck he possesses. He can come against anything, any kind of beast or powerful demon, and somehow will always win. His luck can be passed on to nearby people when he is close to them. If he travels together with others, they also experience unbelievable luck. The luck is his strong ability and the reason he has lived so long. He has never left a battle with more than a superficial cut.

Elminster grabs ahold of the floating pipe and states, "Most of you probably have not noticed a change in the magic of the world. Although you have been chosen because you are the best of your kind, there are some things in life that take a long time to aquire." He smiles and picks up a brilliantly colored glass that seems to sparkle and change colors. He takes a drink out of the cup and then sets it down again. "Wether you know it or not, I am not nearly as young as I look for a human. I have been through many times of trouble and shadow in the realms, but what is happening now is what concerns me the most." He looks down at the floor before adressing the adventuring group again. "Your jobs are to find out the cause of this disruption in the weave of magic." He pauses for a second before looking them all in the eye "And deal with whatever is causeing this disruption." He shifts in heis seat and puts the pipe to his mouth and takes a puff, then releases it to float near by again. "I will aid in findinng this out and hopefully help in resolving this issue before it becomes something serious." With that he stand and says "You may stay here for the night before we head for High forest. Get your rest and I will see you in the morning. With that he begins to move his hand in a series of gestures while speaking in an arcane language and several beds appear along the walls. A moment later he disapears into thin air along with his ever smoking pipe.
Come the next morning, the smell of pipe smoke awakens the adventurers. Looking around to see where elminster is, it becomes aparent that he is not there, although the smell lingers in the air as if he was. Kandor hears a voice next to him state "You are very interesting. You use the shadows to cast magic do you not? The dark powers are not common in these parts." before his eyes the figure of elminster appears in front of him out of thin air. "Forgive me for studying you so, but that kind of magic is rarely ever seen and not much is nown about it. Now you can understand my curiosity. I guess you can say that I am a bit nosy so to speak." He waves his hand in a series of gestures and direcly in front of the adventurers a full course meal appears out of thin air. Elminster walks over to his chair and sits down by the fire. "Please help yourselves to the meals in front of you. It will help build your strenght for whatever lies in those woods." When the adventurers are done eating, they walk over to elminster's chair to let him know they are ready to head to High Forest, but when they reach the chair, he is gone. They had just seen him sitting there only meer minutes ago, but he was nowhere to be seen. Outside they hear someone saddleing up some horses and when they turn to look, they see elminster there grooming his horse. How in the world was he outside when they did not witness him get up and go out there? He looks to the door and says "Well if you all are ready, I have your horses prepared to go."

Alyssa sat up slowly and blinked at the person yelling at them. This was certainly going to be an interesting journey. She'd always wanted to go on an important quest but had never found any worth accepting. This one intrigued her, and she eagerly accepted. She hadn't been told who she was going to be working with, but she didn't really care anyways. She worked well with almost anyone as long as she kept her distance and kept her emotions in check at all times.
She ate the food in silence, studying each person that sat at the table with her. Hunters, sorcerers, there were many different beings here. All were the best at what they did, otherwise they would not have been chosen to be on this quest.
After freshening up and taking care of morning duties, she said, "I'm ready. When do we begin?"

Kandor had been awake most of the night, knowing that he would have to spend alot of time in the light, he savored one final taste of darkness. Elminster's voice startled him somewhat but he never let it show. He'd been studying his soon to be travelling companions, trying to decide if he could even work with them.
"Yes, I imagine it is." Kandor frowned slightly, annoyed at becoming the subject of keen interest. "My story is not one I'd care to share though, thank you. Now if you don't mind, I prefer to eat in peace."
He noticed Alyssa sneaking around, shy almost in nature. She seemed to be avoiding everyone at all costs. How intriguing, he thought. I wonder why she feels the need to avoid everyone. He turned his attentions back to his food and ate in silence.

Torm continues eating watching everyone else. When he has finnished he puts on his armor, the red dragon scales sparcle irrodecently as the sunlight hits them. Although the scales are red, when the sunlight hits them, they change to many different colors. He grabs his swords and proceeds to sharpen them before attatching them onto his back and then he walks outside to pack his horse.
