The Role Playing Subforum:

Welcome to the Role Playing Subforum. Hopefully we will be able to run a few fun and simple RPGs out of here, possibly all at the same time. It may get confusing, so this post is here to lay down the framework that we can run things by.

This post lists general rules regarding how to post and reply in this forum. I will include basic etiquette rules for forum RPG's for those new to it, though I doubt any of them will come as a surprise to any of our members.

Without further ado, to the rules!

Basic Rules:

Bad things:

* No Flaming
* No butting into games you are not part of or welcome in.
* No making non-RPG posts
* No deleting other people's posts, unless otherwise authorized by Jociegoth
* Nothing else that would violate Gaia Online's ToS.

Good things:

* Participate!
* Follow the rules of the game you are participating in
* Start a new game if you feel the need
* Give and receive feedback with other people in the forum
* Most importantly, have Fun!

(rules may be updated periodically, so check back on occasion)

Starting a new Game or adding a new thread to a Campaign:

To start a new game is easy! Normally a recruiting thread would be started to lay down what you want to play and for players to apply to.

I very highly recommend having a prefix in the subject line to differentiate your game from other games to help lower confusion.

Example: Lowellius has a North Hackettsville High School RPG. Each thread in his game would have at the beginning of each Subject Line something like:

"[NHHS-CAPTN] Day 1 - First Day of School"

The prefix in brackets will help your players find the thread they are looking for, keeps things at least slightly organized, and in general is a good idea.

Once your players are signed up, you're good to go! I don't think I need to explain how to run a RPG, I believe pretty much everyone is familiar with the process at least somewhat. I will reserve a box below this one for GM advice just in case; however.
