Black Lake
Hogwarts castle sits on top of a large cliff and overlooks a large lake to the south (PA6).
The first-year students are met at the station by Hagrid (the gamekeeper), who carries a lantern and escorts them down a dark, steep, narrow path that ends at the lake, where they get their first glimpse of Hogwarts. A fleet of little boats takes the students across the lake. As the boats near the cliff on which Hogwarts stands, they sail through an ivy curtain that hides a wide opening in the towering cliff. The boats then sail along a dark tunnel right underneath the castle to an underground harbor with a shore full of rocks and pebbles (SS6).

Marie Sat at the Edge of the Lake throwing some rocks at the lake. Not One of Them Skipped. "Damn Rocks, SKIP ALREADY!" She said Staring at the Rock. Yelling Madly at it.

"Having some problems, Marie?" Kira walked up and stood next to the other girl, smiling. Picking up a small pebble, she turned it around in her fingers before chucking it at the lake. It skipped several times before falling through the surface of the water with a soft plunk. "I'm sure you'll get it if you keep trying. It's all the wrist, really."

Ginny was sitting under the shade of a Beech tree, leaning her back against it, hugging her legs.. She heard Marie yelling, so got up to see what was happening.. She came just in time to catch Kira's pebble skipping over the water's surface, and grinned.. "Hiya guys.."

Marie Smiled and said "Oh, Hey Kira!" She smiled and quickly frowed some as see saw her rock skip. After laughing some, she says "You make it seem so easy" She smiled as Ginny walked towards them, "Oh Hey, I didint see you over there" She smiled once again.

Ginny grinned, and dug her hands in her pockets.. " I wasn't sitting there to be seen, really.. " She said.. " Had some thinking to do.. I like the new term so far, it's been peaceful, with not all the classes starting up at once and stuff... Though I'll be glad to start Charms and Transfiguration..." Noticing that she rambled, she gave a smile, and flopped down onto the ground..

Ryu walked out of the castle and down to the lake. There were a few people there but he didn't care. He pulled the figurine of a Firebolt out of his pocket and said, "Engorgio." and grew to be a fuul-size Firebolt. He had used Diminuendo on it to pack it in his trunk. He hoped on and flew over the lake.

Trista had decided to take a relaxing walk about the grounds one morning and found that the Black Lake would be the best place to just sit and hang out. She walked up near the lake and found a good spot under a tree to sit against and just look out at the scenery. She had brought Roxy with her, who had jumped up into the tree and nestled herself into a split of the branches. Trista pulled out a notebook and paper and started her weekly letters to her boyfriend and family.

AnaMarie sat on a rock by the lake as she felt the cool breeze against her skin. She smiled at the beautiful scenery wondering what her father is doing to day. 'Is he alright? Is he lonely?' these thoughts plagued her mind as she looks at the ripples forming on the lakes surface from the wind.

Venemir walked down to the lake and enjoyed the air and the smell of the lake nearby. He strolled to the lake's edge and sat down on a large rock and began to sing:

Had everything he wanted, didn't want what he had
He had wealth and pelf and fame and name and all of
That noise
But he didn't have none of those simple joys
His life seemed purposeless and flat

Out into the country where he played as a boy

Alastar popped his head out from under the water and his Bubble-head Charm stopped. He had been working under the lake for preperation for his class, when he heard someone singing. He swam a perfect breaststroke to the shore. He got out of the water and dried himself with his wand and noticed that it was Venemir the Potions Master. He walked over and said, "The Merpeople send there compliments to you for that nice singing. I've always said they have terrible ears." and smiled.
Ryu was flying on his broom, when something caught his eye. He flew towards the cstle and took a wrong turn into one of the towers. He had burst through one of the windows.

Professor Pridemore saw Alastar emerge from and lake. "That is a compliment indeed, the merpeople have wonderful voices." Venemir chuckled, then he saw Alastar's eyes drift up into the sky above the tower, he turned his head just in time to see someone smash through a window. Venemir leapt to his feet and ran towards the school with the speed of someone three times younger than him.

A nice, cool breeze whipped Ginger's flaming red hair around her face as she walked down to the black lake, watching it glitter.
Under the beech tree, she flopped down, looking out. It was so beautiful at Hogwarts. Always had been, always would be.
