 Stretch.
She rotated her head on its axis to try and offer some sort of relaxation to her soul. Her ligaments were tightly wound after two duel's in a row. The first, quite surprisingly, with Miki. He was growing quite the heart for Himemiya, and helped the both of them with studying. It was great to see Himemiya interacting, especially with a boy around her age.
They really did make a cute couple. She looked over to her purple-haired companion and smiled lightly, sure that any mischeviousness was covered up.
Then there had been the fencing captain to challenge her. She was a moderately scary sort, but Utena felt there was something very unique about her. Apparently she reminded the orange-haired girl of Shiori, who had a soft soul. She hoped that the two would work out whatever silly notion had split them apart. Sounded something like a guy, but Juuri seemed to allude to something different.
In any case, it didn't make any difference. She'd won both duels.
It was strange how much things had changed. A week or two ago she would have snorted in disgust and turned away, but now she just rather shrugged at the fact of their challenge. Oh sure, who challenged her was shocking, but the duels themselves (and the journey there) had become something of a second nature. It was good exercise.
Still, the duels were wrong no matter how used to them she'd become. She couldn't believe they still considered Himemiya this object - though she was extremely creepy. Where was she going with this?
Ah yes, she was out here at the edge of the trees for a reason. She and Himemiya were going to have some quality friend time even if she had to do all the talking. It was nice to have private times with your friends, just to talk and smile and bask in each other's company. Sort each other's problems out, you know?
She also felt it best not to have Wakaba around just yet, not for this anyway. No need to make Himemiya feel uncomfortable now, was there?
The sun was bright and shining, as always, and Utena had a smile plastered on her face. Settling down underneath the shade of a forest tree she gazed out over the green fields.
"The weekend!" she grinned, loving the freedom.

((Lawlz, a boy around her age. XDDD)) "Yes, Miss Utena," Anthy murmured peacefully, settled comfortably (and gracefully, of course) on the soft grass near her engaged. As the pink prince was studying the fields, the purple-maned Reya's eyes were focused on ChuChu.
"Chuuuu!" He squealed, racing back and forth between two specific blades of grass, although it was anyone's guess as to which two, considering their identical height and look. All the same, he carried a twig, yet another of his infamous stick-swords, and was busy slashing and spearing and defeating only the gods knew what foul monsters Utena had planted into his head with her game of Prince-and-crew.
Anthy watched him with mild amusement. She was a bit lost, however; couldn't offer Utena any tea, here, as there was no place to make it. She couldn't very well bring any with her, either. It wouldn't get cold, no, and if it did, not for long. No, well.. Perhaps she could, but she didn't think tea floating through the air would do well for others to see. It just wasn't done. Everyone knew that. Honestly; no one else went around with tea floating around? Of course not.
Good thing lunch was much easier to carry around!
"I've brought us lunch, Utena-aziri!" The green-eyed Reya offered with her well-practiced smile, then reached over to pull a large leafy package filled with special Anthy-made treats out from beneath her wing. With her robotic smile, she set it down in front of Utena. Shaved ice was one of her favorites.
ChuChu froze at the word 'lunch.' "Chuu?" Seemingly forgetting all about his stick-sword and his knight-in-shining-armor game, he rushed over and attempted to tackle the lunch Anthy had made.

Growing slowly bored with her choice of scenery, Utena turned her head towards Anthy. The Nequus' green eyes were set lovingly on ChuChu, and Utena couldn't help to give a genuinely heart-warmed smile in both their directions. It was amazing how something so small could cheer up Anthy so much.
"ChuChu, you're really something special. You know that?" Utena told him, her teeth showing slightly. Her lips quickly closed over those pearly whites, a more smug expression on her face. She'd taught him that, oh yes.
Utena's nearly devious expression was quickly wiped off her pale face. "Lunch?" she repeated, blinking at Anthy with blank eyes. She was so utterly surprised, she completely missed the change from 'Miss' to Aziri, which would normally have sent her a shock quite different from her current.
She watched the packet drift from Himemiya's mouth to the ground by her curled feet. Hey now, she didn't have wings, so she couldn't do that. It was simply unfair!
"You're really amazing sometimes, Himemiya," Utena mused, grinning. She bend down to unwrap the package when a blur of purple came bursting into her sight range. She recoiled quickly, expecting a proper bashing, but soon was to find the creature was merely after her lunch. "ChuChu," she scorned lightly, a slightly bemused expression present. Reaching down with eyes half-closed in exasperation, she plucked the familiar by his scruff from their meal. "There's this word called sharing. . ."
What was that!?
"Himemiya, we had shaved ice for dinner last night." The night before, come to think of it. They always had shaved ice.
She paused, and sighed. "And we're having it again for lunch." That grass looked so tempting, but she didn't want to be rude. . .

At first, Anthy had thought that Utena was simply upset that they had no tea, but swiftly deduced it was in fact, the shaved ice. "I'm sorry, Utena-aziri," she murmured with a dip of her muzzle, smiling from her engaged to the lunch she'd made. She did really enjoy cooking, even though many others, her brother mostly, had told her it wasn't her duty, it wasn't her place, and to stop. She usually did, until she made tea or wanted to make them lunch, and then it started over again. However, even though Utena hadn't told her not to make lunch or that she didn't like something, Anthy still got the idea and that felt more strangely than being told not to prepare food anymore. She couldn't quite place the feeling, but it felt.. It felt...
Utena's opinions didn't matter to the little purple monkey, and in a heartbeat the shaved ice was gone. ChuChu sat in a bloated pile in the middle of the package, and both he and it were covered in shaved ice scraps. He managed an impolite belch before slowly twitching and rolling onto his side, with a contented, "Chuuu......"
Anthy merely smiled at him mechanically, for some reason grateful for his distraction. "You really should be more careful about what you do, ChuChu."

Utena looked positively horrified. She really hadn't meant offence. She'd gone and done it again, making Himemiya upset. Why couldn't she hold her princely mouth closed?
"I'm sorry, that wasn't a very nice thing to say, was it Himemiya?" She offered the Rose Bride a weak smile, before frowning at ChuChu.
"Now, I was going to have some of that. . ." Utena told him wistfully, but inside she was grateful for the absence of the shaved ice. It was going to make her positively ill.
She stretched and leaned against the tree, the muslces of her shoulder bumping up against Himemiya's back. It was so quietly peaceful out here, even if ChuChu had eaten Himemiya's carefully crafted meal. "I do like your shaved ice, Himemiya. But you know, too much of a good thing can make you sick." There, that should explain it nicely. "Maybe your stomach is tougher than mine." Princes didn't have to have tough stomachs, Utena decided. This was not on the requirements list.
She wondered. . . "Is it okay for us to just sit like this? I mean, I'm not boring you? I have no idea what you like to do in your spare time. I never really thought to ask."

ChuChu was completely unfazed by Utena's weak and feeble half-attempt at scolding. Instead, he released a squeaky yawn and promptly fell asleep where he sat -- in the middle of the package Anthy had carefully prepared.
Anthy missed the pink prince's look of horror, as she was too busy watching the little monkey known as ChuChu. As Utena said she was going to have some shaved ice before ChuChu ate it all, the Reya fleetingly thought she could prepare some when they arrived back at the dorms -- until the Ichsa mentioned too much of a good thing. Was it really too much of a good thing, or did Utena just not want to eat anymore shaved ice and wanted a polite way of saying so? She didn't know why her engaged would bother going the polite route; she didn't need to. All her other engageds told her simply, 'stop cooking.' And that was it.
Preferring to veer away from that topic for now, she targeted Utena's latest statement. "Of course not, Miss Utena." She was never bored. Why would she be? She had ChuChu, she had an engaged, she had her brother, she had her duties... Akio had told her she wouldn't ever be bored, and therefore she wasn't. Right? Right.
Spare time? "I play games with ChuChu, Utena-aziri," she offered, smiling towards the sleeping monkey. She didn't seem to notice that Utena was leaning against her, and if she did, it obviously didn't bother her at all, as she stayed exactly how she was. Hmm... Utena had said something about going somewhere earlier, hadn't she? Yes, she had. "Where did you want to go, Utena-aziri?"

Utena breathed a sigh of relief at 'Of course not, Miss Utena.' It didn't even cross her mind that Himemiya's answer was due fully to the fact that is was the Rose Bride's duty to feel the same way the Engaged wished them to be. It took no expert of the rocks underneath Casa Tiner's soil to know that Utena had wished Himemiya not to be bored.
"Himemiya," Utena said with a perky smile. "Do you think you could call me just that from now on? It isn't much, but Utena-aziri sounds a bit better." Ego bloating, was more like it, but anything beat 'Miss'. Anything and Everything.
To be completely honest, Utena had altogether forgotten about where she'd wanted to go. She flicked an ear back towards the sound of Himemiya's voice, eyes now trained on the foliage above them. She liked the way she looked underneath the trees. It was much better than seeing them from above.
"As . . . " she didn't want to say the horrendous word. "As a special member of this school, you're allowed to go everywhere, right?" She assumed so, quite quickly, and stretched out her legs once before using them to drag herself to a standing position. Her body shuddered as she removed the various clingning blades of grass and twigs. Even the foliage had gone fangirl.
"I've heard there's all sorts of carvings on the trees out here," Utena continued. "I thought we might take a look?" Utena, however, wasn't thinking of two love-struck Nequus professing their lustful short time relations on trees. She, as was well known, had a vivid imagination, and so she thought more along the lines of secret runes. Maybe Himemiya had a group of friends she recited incantations with out there. Perhaps she'd teach Utena that secret.
That had to be the power of the rose bride. Win her trust over with kindness, and then you got to learn all her little secrets. She bet the duelists wouldn't see that coming!

"Of course, Utena-aziri," Anthy murmured with her faux smile forever plastered on her face. Following suit, the rose bride stood up gracefully beside her engaged, and turned to look in the direction her pink prince had found so intriguing. She's still call her 'Miss,' oh yes, but 'aziri' as well.
"As the Rose Bride, I am allowed to go anywhere in Ohtori, yes. Why do you ask, Utena-aziri?" She inquired, turning her emerald eyes towards her pink-haired engaged. Carvings on trees? Oh yes, she'd heard of those from past engaged. They sounded quite odd, to be sure. She'd much rather go make tea than witness strange events. But then again, if Miss Utena wished to see the tree carvings, then they would venture off to see the tree carvings, and Anthy would not complain. She would be happy and interested, of course.
Having thus completely ignored the conversation between the two ladies, ChuChu now jumped up as quickly as possible at the sound of their rising. Conversation was boring, but they were going somewhere now, and they would not leave him behind, and he would make sure of that. Besides, if they did, who would protect them from the grass-blade monsters? Already several were attacking Utena, but she seemed to be able to rid herself of those, he noted, as the thin, feeble blades of grass floated to the ground.
With a determined, "Chuu!!" the small monkey raced off and jumped onto Utena's tail, quickly making his way up. But not before, of course, pulling out and angrily throwing blades of grass, exclaiming a 'chu!' after each one.

Utena looked towards Himemiya with the largest grin on her face that she had probably ever had. Hearing 'aziri' again made her feel special, and hearing it from Himemiya was like some form of ground-breaking trust. It felt good to have at least a part of the young girl's trust.
"Thank you, Himemiya," she said, softening her smile a bit.
"Well . . . " Utena began with a glance into the trees. She swallowed as Himemiya looked at her and turned the other direction. "I've heard rumors from the upper classman's wing that there's an ocean around here. I'd like to go see that to." She had a lot on her slab for today.
Utena's eyes grew wide as there was suddenly a heavy weight on her tail. "ChuChu, you're going to give me a heart attack!" she exclaimed, though managed to keep her composure. Giving Himemiya a wary glance, and clearing her throat, Utena lead the way off into the bush. Truthfully, she had no idea where they were going. Call it an adventure, and hopefully they wouldn't hit any bushes this time.
Because there were many interesting things to note in the woods (or for ChuChu to point out), it took Utena slightly longer than normal to locate the first tree carving.
"Himemiya?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. It wasn't exactly what she'd expected. "There's a bunch of fuss over this?" She shook her head. "Ayeiee, people are so obsessed."

"The ocean?" Anthy echoed with her fake smile, elegantly following the pink prince. She'd been there before, of course, but it would be much more fun to follow Utena and see how lost she got before they finally arrived. It was one of the few things that managed to amuse her, if only slightly. Plus she was the Rose Bride; she never lead anything. That was her engaged's duty, not hers.
The little monkey jumped up and down on Utena's head, his slender tail wrapped securely around her horn, and pointed excitedly at random things with a small twig. He'd pulled it from Utena's mane and decided to keep it, and used it to point as well as slay invisible demons, and sometimes visible ones. Utena's ears kept swiveling and would hit him sometimes, he had to defend himself! Unfortunately, Utena never paid much attention to what he was pointing at. She seemed to pay attention to whenever he prodded her ears with his stick, though.
The purple-maned mare paused beside her engaged, blinking at the tree carving. "Yes, Utena-aziri," she agreed, her emerald eyes flitting to the pink Ichsa. "What were you expecting?"

Utena shifted uncomfortably, looking towards Anthy with tightened eyebrows. It was disconcerting how the dark skinned girl continually repeated several things, and Utena often didn't know how she could rephrase the question or answer.
"Yeah, it's supposed to have beautiful waves, and if you look hard enough sometimes you can see something strange out along the water." She felt a tickle work its way down her spine at the prospect. There were things living in the ocean, and, as her instructor on Friday's had said, they were dangerous things.
Her ears still battling off ChuChu's attempts at victory, Utena lowered her head to catch another view of the carvings. Unfortunately, no matter how she looked at them, they weren't changing.
"I guess it's nice. . . " Utena said after a time, imagining what Wakaba might say of them. "I mean, I just don't see that it would ever lead to anything." It was a very awkward way of saying that she didn't believe the love to be true.
"I guess I was expecting something a little less . . . " she paused in worry that Himemiya might be offended. "Childish," she finished, blinking lightly and sighing in an attempt to cover up her dissapointment.
She shook her head and gathered together her wits. "Well, I guess there's the ocean next, right ChuChu?"

At the mention of something strange, ChuChu perked right up. He valiantly held out his stick-sword and struck a heroic pose, hinting not-so-subtly that he'd slay any seamonsters and the like.
Something less childish? Well, she certainly wasn't going to find anything like that among these tree carvings. "Something more... formal maybe, Utena-aziri?" Perhaps she meant the fruit trees? Yes, perhaps someone had told her about the fruit tree carvings, and the pink-maned prince must have mistaken them for the love carvings. Honestly, who would want to look at all the short-term relationships? Over half of them, the Rose Bride figured, were done and over with by now, or would be soon; such was the fate of such fickle, fake relationships. She was glad she wasn't in one of those, although Touga and Saionji seemed to be in them quite a bit. If you could call any of them 'dating' relationships, that is.
At the mention of seeing the ocean again, the purple monkey jumped up and down eagerly atop Utena's head before unwinding his tail from her horn. Instead, he grabbed it and tugged on it several times in an attempt to get her walking and, even if she had started to walk he didn't notice at all. Unable to wait for the slowpokes, ChuChu jumped off the pink-maned prince's head and scurried off into the brush towards the ocean, completely forgetting his role of valiant prince that Utena had instilled in him.

Despite her drawlings, her eyes were still very intent to look at the badly made affections of love so closely tight-nit together. To her, it felt as though each of those carvings brought all of these people into the same category. Merely the fact that they had all come together to express the same emotions seemed to create a strong image even if they were not themselves. She vaguely wondered if this was why people fell into relationships: And obligation to fit into the masses. It was a note to ask Himemiya at some later date.
"I'm not sure," she finally answered her counterpart, turning her head to catch the glint of well managed hair and innocence.
"Oigh, ChuChu. . . " Utena muttered halfheartedly at ChuChu's antics and impatience. She let him slide down without a further word and finally let loose a sigh.
"I guess we're to follow our escort," Utena teased with a smile in Himemiya's direction and a jerk in the small purple monkey's traveling direction.
Without another word she began the slow trek. She didn't wish to run there today; the morning was far too pleasant and her company was far too quiet.
"Do you like the ocean, Himemiya?" she asked after a time. It was important to know the things your roommate liked and disliked.

ChuChu ignored any and all of Utena's exasperated comments, and proceeded to scurry around the underbrush, valiantly slaying all of the threatening grass-demons on the way.
The Rose Bride was a bit disappointed that the small monkey was leading; it would have been much more entertaining had Utena lead the way. No doubt she had no idea where the ocean was, and would've gotten lost several times. She didn't mind following, of course not; the entertainment was well worth the trouble.
Anthy didn't know how the pink-maned prince expected her to like the ocean when her engaged had thought she didn't know what the ocean was and had to explain it to her, but she refrained from mentioning that amusing thought. She also knew where it was, but she refrained from mentioning that, too. "Of course, Utena-aziri." Of course she liked it, it was her duty to like what her engaged wanted her to, and she could glean from Utena's comments that she very much hoped her bride liked the ocean, and so she did.
