So, obviously we Psych fans watched the season finale where Shawn opened the door and there his mother was. Discuss: Who Is/Might Be Playing HerCybill Shepherd What She'll Be Like Why She's Back"According to the show, when Madeleine appears in Santa Barbara, she's coming from Europe and wants to visit her sonny boy. The visit, so we're told, dredges up some old memories. And since this is a crime/caper/mystery show, perhaps Maddie's bound to get involved in one of Shawn's cases." I'm hoping she'll be like Shawn. And I would LIKE TO THINK she's back/visiting because Henry has seen how distressed Shawn's gotten about his dating other ladies and wants to stay on good terms with his ex-wife for Shawnie's sake.
But I dunno.

I really want to know why Shawn blames Henry for the divorce. Maybe Henry had an affair, it musta been bad cause Shawn's been annoyed by the divorce everytime mom comes up.

Princess Cerulean His mom is totally gonna be like shawn. I mean, Henry cant really get along with his own son, so mabie that's why they divorced. Because she's carefree. I'm not sure though. Shawn seems to get a lot of his carefreeness from his grandpa too. From the show, it seems she didnt all agree with Henry's strictness, but she obviously let it continue, or at least to a point.
I think it's more of Shawn's mom and Henry just didnt get along and fought a lot about things, like maybe his strictness towards his son. At least, that moreso than Henry cheating or something, because I honestly don't think he would have done that.

I actually think that she left because Henry was too busy being a cop to spend any time with his family. But I dunno. Hm.

I honestly never really thought so much about her before the second half of season 2, I just thought she's divorced from Henry and apparently Shawn is taking her side a lot... But now it sounds like there's gonna be drama! Wonder who'll play her.

Shawn takes his mom's side because he feels that Henry did a bad job in raising him. It's just another way for Shawn to lash out at his father. In truth, he loves them equally, but he has different ways of showing it to them.
And it's widely known that a cop's wife is always waiting around for that call. Just like Lassiter's mother is. Anyone related to a cop is affected by that call. I think Shawn's mom left because she didn't want to be left in the wake of that call. Well, that on top of a few neuroses Henry has. I think Henry really still loved her, quite possibly still does even this far into the show, which might be why he's not entirely up on the dating scene and such. So I don't think it was for lack of love, really.
It's about time we got some more serious in this show though. I mean, I love the witty banter and every thing, but I was lacking some protein in my Friday night dinner of laughs and grins. Mmm, drama. The other white meat...
I'm really sleepy right now... And I'm dressed like a poof.

My question is how long has the divorce been? I just watched From Earth To The Starbucks and when Shawn realized that Henry had a woman over Shawn became incredibly irritable, yelling something about Fifteen years before he left.
So does that mean Shawn hasn't seen his mother for fifteen or so years? Though he's probably seen her more recently I have divorced friends who see each both parents regularly, but Shawn's situation is a bit different.

I think she's probably a "Normal" person, carefree but also strict in a motherly way. She's probably come to make amends for everything that's happened.
Though this should definitely be an interesting turn of events no matter what.

Yeah, that makes more sense.
Two zany people would be way to over the top, It would be kinda funny if Shawn was some sort of a Black Sheep of the Spencer family. XD
