Queen cover?
YES! They're capable of doing it, and would still respect the original song.
No, I'm sure Muse would completely rape the song. They don't have the right D<

The mysterious, sadly yet unwritten but undoubtedly Musetastic 5TH ALBUM.
[...not counting Hullabaloo as one of the albums.]
So yeah... discuss:
- WHEN? How soon will the new songwriting begin? Can we expect any new material at V Festival? [I hope so, I'm probably going. I can't imagine Muse playing V with 2 year old material only.]

- WHAT? What will it sound like? Will Muse get back to their rocker roots, travel further into the electronic universe, fill the album with a 50-minute piano symhony or do something completely new?

- WHERE? Alright... this one doesn't make sense.

- HOW? Will they 'do a R*d**h**d'? A double CD? Vinyl? Tape? ... I'm getting carried away x]

I personally hope to find some vicious riffage รก la OoS ;D I know it's not realistic && that Muse will probably come up with something unexpected, but still.
However... what would make me REALLY happy would be, you've probably read the topic on can't remember which forum, a Queen cover. <3 They could easily get away with anything off Innuendo, and although it's closest to their style, it's maybe a bit too easy? I'd love to hear a "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" or "Millionaire Waltz" cover xD [But 'There's music and love everywheeeere' doesn't sound like a Muse-y thing to say...]

NAO, UR OPINION PL0X.

- WHEN? I'd say, at a guess, next year. They might have a couple of new songs now, start recording sometime this year and have it out next year. They have the DVD that they keep pushing back to tide us over for now, anyways.

- WHAT? Oooh. Piano symphony. With drums and bass randomly thrown in at random intervals. That, or they continue along the Knights Of Cydonia path. Overblown epics. XD.

- WHERE? Your mother's house.

- HOW? I don't think Matt would live with himself if they did a R*d**h**d. It would make the critics more like "SEE, I TOLD YOU! THEY'RE RIP-OFFS!"
I'd like a double CD. XD.

We started with Showbiz, then to OoS, then toned down a bit and got more political for Absolution, and more political/eclectic for BHAR. So, I'm seeing some political rock and roll, with various styles. You might get some epic Romantic era piano piece, and then some electronic dance-y music a la SMBH, and then awesome stuff like Invincible.

And it'll be Musetastic.

Isn't the offical word that it's going to be more 'electronic' than anything else they've done?

An album full of Take A Bow...

WANT!

- WHEN? Muse usually took about two or three years to compose an album and that's why I bet it's gonna take the same until we can enjoy their 5th album. About... 2009 or 2010.

- WHAT? It'd be GREAT if they got back to their original sound, but it's only utopia. If they're gonna try turn into the road of electronic, it may be great, but I'd appreciate most if their style differs from the one used in Take A Bow. That's an amazing song, do not misunderstand me. But... They do have to mix their typical style and the electronic one, as they've been able to in OoS.

- WHERE? Ehr, I dunno...

- HOW? A single CD would be great, as always. But if they come up with a double one... it'd be much much better!

I don't know if we should trust the band when it comes to predictions though; wasn't Absolution supposed to become a happy, uplifting album? xD
I don't know how much I'd like more electronics... I mean obviously MotP and TAB are great, but Muse can do [and has done] better than that.
Noflamingplz. ;]

EDIT:
Oh god... NO! PLEASE ;_;
This is from the muselive.com front page:
Q. Have you been influenced by any other bands that are out at the moment, or any of the bands you saw on tour?

A. We toured Australia and New Zealand at the same time as Justin Timberlake in November - a lot of the time we were playing the same cities on the same nights. I'd never really listened to Justin Timberlake, but he was selling out bigger venues than us, so I had a listen to his latest album and thought it was really good. We also started listening to some stuff by Timbaland, who produced that album, his music sounds kind of similar, but I think it's going to be a big influence when we get back into the studio. I've already written a couple of things with more rap-style vocals, which is something I'd tried a few times in the past, but it came out more like Rage Against The Machine and didn't really work: it just didn't suit my voice. This time though, I think the vibe is right. It's definitely something quite different from what we've done before!

Honestly now... falsetto rap? :l

Don't do this to me, guys. However much I think Justin Timberlake's music really is good sometimes, Muse. is. not. compatible. with. rap. D:
I've always said Muse could pull anything off, look at how they covered 'can't take my eyes off you', but well... I guess they found the one thing that I think wouldn't be a good idea.

...Ohwow

If that happens, I might actually not like the album. I mean, it'll still be better than most music, but still....

Ps. That picture is made of so much win it's incredible.

I know, the expression on his face is perfect xD
But yeah, they probably will lose a large part of their fanbase if they decide to go all hiphop-style... of course we don't know what the new stuff is like; we can only hope it's so awesome we can't imagine it before we hear it.
...? D:

OR.
It's just a joke to see how the fans handle it. I can totally imagine Dom and Matt reading these topics on all the fanboards and LOL'ing at us for taking it too seriously...

Hi guys! =D *waves* Don't do a rap album mmk? ^-^

I commented that picture onto teh Bells' MySpace. I wonder what he thought....

Does he ever get on there himself then? o.O
I've calmed down about the rap album... Guess we shouldn't take the stuff they say so seriously now. I mean, they're probably just doing it to stay in the news a bit and to keep the fans busy.
