This was a recent bit of information I obtained in my last visit to the Wolf Preserve. There are three packs at the wolf preserve each in a one acre enclosure. In the second one, the pack of Mystic and Shaman, Mystic used to be the Omega, but acctually rose to the position of alpha, forcing the previous alpha female out of rank, and I believe into the position of beta. Now as I doubt Coma will ever let that happen, it does happen in the wild and even in the wolf preserves around the world.

Ahaha, yeah. I'm a covetous and greedy pack leader. biggrin
And who knows, I might if I ever quit Gaia..
Which so happens I might.
