I can handle the hormonal outbursts, I can handle the occasional bad language when they think I'm not listening, but what I am really struggling to handle is the half naked girl pics splashing up on my sons screensaver eek
My instincts are just to BAN him from ever going on the internet again, but then I think, no that would just push him the other way and encourage him to fight back, so.......
Help please... How on earth do I deal with this?

bless your heart that is a good question maybe if you explain to him that you find it offensive,even though he may not,you would appreciate him changing it to something else whne you are home! idk if that will work i havent got to that bridge yet but i will be watching this thread to see the other advice you get cause my boys will be there one day!!!! biggrin

I have no boys, so my opinion doesnt count for much, but here it goes........
atleast she not totally bare, but its just a screen saver, you may want to worry more if he is actually watching porn all the time.
But I will say, if I find my daughter has passed out any kind of half naked pics when she gets older, i will kick her butt.

So he's taken the images off now. Well if it was a 'page 3' type image then, I'm not sure I would have found it so offensive, but it wasn't, as it was quite a provocative image that one of his 'friends' had sent to him of herself. So some poor mother out there has a daughter who is sending half naked, provocative images of herself, and I guess she doesn't even know it eek Now that is frigthtening! Like you, if my daughters ever did that, I would tan their arses for the first time in their lives evil

it really does depend on some websites accessed. a lot of what you see are advertisement where they are scantily clad. unfortunately you cant do much about that. i guess you can check the history and see what hes accessing to see if its anything serious rather than flat out banning him. now a days its hard to monitor that stuff. hell we watch a lot of anime and if someone is on the computer and says something about boobs, little man comes running to see what it is. gets to be a pain in the a** really. at least we know hes a boy! something we're gonna have to watch ourselves because there are some anime that he just wont be able to watch cause they may be drawn not wearing much. he does get a kick out of the anime where the boy would get nose bleeds. basically that happens in anime when a boy sees a girl naked for some reason. he find it hilarious cause the boy tends to pass out. for us, its not too bad cause they arent showing the girl completely naked and its not through out the whole episode.

... well I think I would have to just sit down and talk with him and let him know that you find that kind of, I dont know, art, photography, etc. demeaning or offensive and you dont want to see any of it. I think that out of respect for you he should have no problem not displaying it.... xp heart heart

He's 18 now, and has just bought himself a computer, which is hidden in his room, so its not an issue any longer biggrin

loquitadeindiana I would try explaiing to him, as I have my own son that those are appropriate and they send a bad message to the other people in the house. And any company we might have. And to be honest I have pulled the I pay for it if you wanna use it be respectful. And you wouldnt be happy if you saw me or one of your sisters on there like that. Now I have a question to a few of you. Why is it OK if she isnt all the way bare? You have said you wouldnt like it if it was your daughter. Why is it OK if your son looks at someone elses daughter like that? I found that a little disturbing.
