In light of the massive growth of membership these last couple of days, I thought it might be neat to have a thread where people can come and introduce themselves a bit more extensively [and not necessarily with any mention of WD]

So I'll start out [and don't worry, there's no need to be too in depth if you're wary of internet strangers wink ]
My real name is probly irrelevant, so just call me "Rab" if you want. I'm going to be 18 years old this March 31st. I'm out of highschool already [and have been this past year entirely] because I decided to get my GED instead. =]
Still no job though, so you might wonder what I do all day? xD Hahah. Well, you're looking at it I guess. ;] Aside from the internet, I take care of the house, get plenty of exercise, read books, look after our nine cats [oiiii u_u] and sometimes watch television or movies too.

I have plans for college [more or less], but its gotta wait until my family moves back to California. Currently my residence is in a small town in Southern Oregon, where I'm killing time for the next five months until we DO move. I consider getting a job, but we'll see. =]

I'm always happy to talk and role-play, and I'll be here almost every day, so...I hope you find me friendly and not too annoying. o_o''

Well then, how about you guys? biggrin
PostPosted: Wed Feb 27, 2008 1:36 pm

Good idea! ^u^ *shall introduce herself*

Hey peoples! My name is Laura but my 'internet name' is Bluenx. People normally call me Bluen, Blue and rarely BX. I am a girl (if you hadn't noticed ±o±) and I live in England! I'm 13 but I don't like to judge people by their age so you can ignore that. xD My b-day is the 7th September. My hobbies are cycling, drawing and digital art and piano and that's how I spend most of my freetime. I'm online most weekends but for a limited time on school nights because of the mass of homework teachers like to pile on me ;o;. I'm interested in anime and manga x3, BUNNIES (yeash, Bluen, the ultimate rabbit obsessor), animals and animal psychology and internet coding etc. (although i'm terrible at this and need to find some more time to learn about it 3nodding ). I'm very optimistic and sometimes hyperactive and a bit loony. Thankfully, you are somebody I won't have contact with offline, so you are spared the torture of my automatic whiny voice and jumpy-ness 4laugh . However I am not needy and I look out for other people and like to help. I try not to be selfish and feel for other people. Some people get annoyed by me though. If I annoy you please don't feel like I'm doing it deliberately though because I'm not always to other people's taste. I'm not vindictive and although I get jealous easily of other people, I'm happy for them and not mean (hopefully D8 ). I can't wait to meet more people here and hopefully I will be accepted here! whee

Well, I have some time left to waste for class, so I guess I'll write something about myself.

My real name is Megan, but most of my friends call me Meggs because of an anime called "I My Me! Strawberry Eggs". The reason it became Meggs instead of Eggs was because I've been obsessed with strawberries since I was little... try and guess what my favorite character name was from Watership Down? xd I prefer to be called Shoujo though when I'm on the internet, but I couldn't tell you why. It's just been with me for quite some time.

I'm currently in my fourth year of college, and I have three more to go. I'm majoring in Interior Design, and I will be minoring in English Writing and Business Administration. Outside of school, my hobbies include the Internet, drawing, singing, and writing. I'm currently working on a fiction novel (may become a series) entitled "Surrendering World". If you ever want to know more about it, feel free to send a PM my way.

For the most part, I'm a very friendly and accepting person. I can be very a**l when it comes to some things though. Be happy you don't live with me: I kill anyone who leaves a mess, even if it's an empty soda can. I'm also obsessive about spelling and grammar, so if you post something and it strangely becomes altered, I'm the little edit nazi floating about xd Finally, I don't accept the word "gay" as a synonym for "stupid", so please be respectful.

And that's my rant... *steps off soap box*

Hey Blue! biggrin I'm glad you decided to introduce yourself. You sound like you'll be a lot of fun to have around. smile
And you're English? That's really cool. How's it like over there? >_> -fears sounding like a retard- I've never visitted, much as I'd like to.

Hey Shoujo. mad D heart
You edit posts for grammar's sake?! Ahaha, that's strangely very hilarious to me. Thanks for watching my back. wink I make typos pretty casually...day in and day out. xD

And wow, you're writing a book of your own? From what I've seen from your role-play skills, you're a great writer, hopefully you'll get published someday. biggrin

P.S. - Speaking of the role-play, I've been wondering when you might plan on posting? surprised

Probably not until Friday. My mind's been on tests and projects, so it's hard to concentrate on RP. I keep trying to write Ivy, but end up giving up after a sentence sweatdrop Plus, I'm going to be introducing two new characters. Xera knows about them and won't be posting their profiles for me until after I make the first post. Be prepared for the weird 4laugh

xD Haha, alright. That's something to look forward to. I'm eager to see your new characters. 3nodding

Let's see... this is going to be weird.

My real name is irrelevant, female, and using one of my characters here on Gaia. But if you look around the net for Blackthornhiei, that's me. My age... let's just say I usually end up getting adopted as virtual-aunt XD. I'm from El Salvador, little country in Central America, and country of origin of all those delicious pupusas in the States. So yeah, I get to eat pupusas at least once a week. Working full time as secretary in an architecht's office.

My pets are my bunny Arashi; Reiki, a dog we adopted from a shelter last month; four wood tortoises that aren't named after the TMNT (They're named Patty, D'Artagnan, Asterix and Obelix); the fish tank with platties, danios, and a comet; and the wild geckoes that roam around the house, collectively known as The Rodrigos.

I enjoy reading and ocasionally drawing. My favorite genre is techno thrillers, but lately I've also been enjoying books that definitaly aren't targeted towards my age group (what can I say... they're fun and most aren't preachy).

On the anime front, I'm a hopeless Gundamtard, and like mech series. I like shonen manga and lately I've been obssesing over Katekyo Hitman Reborn. I also like to collect manga made in other countries.

And I can't think of anything else. Feel free to ask any questions.

@Blue: How did the quake feel? My country is quake country, but I thought England didn't was free of quakes.

Okay then, let's do this thang!

My name is Danielle. I'm about 3 months away from graduating high school. After that, I'm going to just take classes gradually at a community college, or just take an entire year off to work and do other things.
I like to draw, listen to music (I like just about everything.) bike, hike, camp, do stuff with my friends, do stuff on the internet and dragon boat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_boat It's a competitive race using boats similar to canoes with dragon heads and tails. It originated form china. My town is the only place left in the world who use the traditional Kaohsiung boats, which are huge and quite heavy.

I don't have any pets, but I'd like to get one when I move out. Maybe a dog. Or a rabbit. biggrin

If you're curious about my art, the link to my DA is in my sig. It's really the only thing I'm even a LITTLE BIT decent at. xd

Well, I'm Theresa, but go by Neptune on here. I'm 22 and havejust over a year left in college (finaly!). I'm going to be a Radiology Technologist, which is a fancy way to say I do x-rays, and can get into MRI and Ct with a bit more training. I also have a job in a group home taking care of 3 mentally/physicaly handycapped guys.

In my free time, I'm addicted to Gaia, I like anime, manga, writing, drawing(I'll link when I get home), singing, reading....... yada yada^^

I've got three pets:Tina (lhasa opso/poodle) and cinnamon (orange tabby) and Shennandoa (brown and white mouse). Shennan lives with Shoujo and her mice, though, since my mom hates rodents and Tina and Cinnamon would eat the poor little girl. But I get to see her when ever I go over to visit. (If you haven't realized, Shoujo and I are frineds in RL.)

Nice to learn more about you all. biggrin

Fiori- I've never been to El Salvador. surprised You said you're from there, does that mean you aren't living there now? Or I could have misunderstood you. I do misunderstand people often. xD

Zooshi- Nice meeting you. biggrin I've never heard of that kind of boat racing, but it sounds like it would be fun.
Checking your DA, you've got some great art there. =] Is that what you plan on going to school for?

and on an irrelevant side note... your phallic mushroom signiture is very interesting. o.o

Hey Neptune. biggrin I had figured you and Shoujo were friends offline. Radiology Technologist sounds like it would pay pretty decent. xD
Nice learning more about you. =]

4laugh Thank you! *late replier D8* I hope I will. xD

Nah I get it a lot. >w< Ummm ... well *thinks back to geography class* We have an average of over 200 people per km2. sweatdrop *fail* Pretty average. Weathers up and down. I live in a place called Brighton by the seaside. 3nodding It's meant to be the gay capital of England. xD *lives in a strange place* It's hard describing my country. ;^;

xd
PostPosted: Sun Mar 02, 2008 11:31 am

Wow, seaside and gay capital of your country? Sounds a little like our San Francisco. wink ...though possibly minus all the gothlings. >_>; I wouldn't know, I've neither been to England or San Francisco. xD

I really want to visit your country someday. I've got English blood in me, and so I guess I want to be able to see the places where my ancestors were, something like that. >.>'

I still live here. Born here, and will probably die here. Though I have, on ocassion, considered living in another country. Legally, that is.

If anyone ever decides to come visit the country, I can give a few tips.

xD Yeah. I guess if I were to go anywhere it would probly be London. I'm not incredibly fond of crowded places, but I think my mom has some friends who live there... She's gotten to visit before.
But if I DO go, Brighton would be a good place to check out. =]

xDD I'M a social retard TOO! Yet another fascinating parallel! =O
