Well, Usually stereotypes for Azns are kinda in a positive way. LIke how we all are SMART or MUSICALLY TALENTED.. and other crap like that. I think azn's have better stereotypes then other races. [not saying that any stereotype is good]
For instance, If you were like "black".. many stereotypes of "blacks" are bad. like.. "All blacks are gang related" or something like that.
But overall. I think stereotypes are just over generalizations of what ppl see around them. AND that needs to be stopped.
Because they can put a lot of pressure on some ppl. Like say if you are azn but you don't meet the 4.0 stereotype. It makes you feel bad when ppl come up to you in class saying that "Oh you must be smart.. and yadie yada..."
Lol. sorry I wrote kinda a lot. I just hate stereotypes. They annoy me. Grr.

I think that stereotypes for Asians are just weird. Usually everyday, I get called for help because I'm asian. Or, somewhat seeing us like genuises or someone who are too good at something.
._.; The good thing about being an asian, is that I don't have to be someone that has to say stereotypical things. Because, it's not right and pointless.
The bad thing about it, is people can say stuff about you ( Maybe racism added ) and think of you as a tool or someone good enough for whatever they need support in.
In my opinion, it's weird.

Well, I'm not Asian. Let me get that out there right now. I dislike stereotypes. I didn't even learn about them until I was in junior high because the rest of my family dislikes them. And that's probably a very good thing. Maybe everyone should be raised by parents who dislike stereotypes so that their children will grow up clueless all through those tender early years...? XD Media-wise, I think Asians are made out to be super-smart, super-sexy, and super-human. I know that not every Asian is like this ( indeed, is there any one Asian, or even any PERSON, who has all of the above listed qualities? ).

i HATE when people think that of asians. WE CAN'T HELP IT THAT WE'RE SMART! T_______T but seriously, not all of those stereotypes of an asian are true. i SUCK at DDR. i wouldn't be able to dance on it if my life depended on it.
i'm actually pretty tall compared to the asians that i know. i think i'm about 5'4? not sure. and i REALLY hate it when they think we can do kung-fu or karate. i spent the last year of my old school being called "jackie chan" or "bruce lee". it sucked because i was the only asian in my whole grade. for 7 years.

~<.+.>~
I personally find it as a way that one was raised. Sure, my parents own a restaurant and I'm pretty well off so I don't know too much about you guys, but they worked hard to get where they are now. I respect that, however, I find that the people from Asia are a bit more traditional in the way that they think. But much of the older population is like this.
Every parent wants to see their child succeed. A vast majority of the people who are Asian parents have immigrated to the US. Thus, they have suffered much and wish for their children to not go through what they have. This is the reason for much of the pushing that many Asian children receive. Simply, it's just a very protective stance from the parents part.
Now, onto the whole stereotype thing. I for one, am NOT smart. Quite frankly, my GPA for a long time was only a 2.5. However, I am talented in other areas. Do my parents really want to care? No, they want me to enter into medicine, quite frankly, I'd rather spend the rest of my life writing prose and not studying the chemical compounds of whatever.
I'm not smart, I really am not, my GPA should already show that, my SAT scores should show that, I only got 1650, with a really high score in my essay portion. I have to admit, I really do like writing and I feel as if I could do better in that field than in Pharmacology or any other field.
I'm tall, that's easy to determine, I'm actually a bit taller than a lot of the girls at my school. I stand at 5' 8". Yeah, I'm tall, even for a girl, for an Asian girl, that's like giant. I'm also fat.
I speak my native language, yes, but that's because I have to translate for my parents who have moved here from a foreign country and have limited understanding and grasp of the English Language.
IVY league. Ha, funny, I'm entering a liberal arts school and double majoring in Biology or Chemistry and Creative Writing hopefully along with a minor in Asian Studies.
Yeah, I spend way too much time surfing the internet and not studying, or writing for that matter, but that's just the way I am I suppose, there's a lot of flaws about me, and just because I'm Asian, and raised an Asian, it does not give anyone the right to label me as any sort of stereotype. We all have our quirks, mine just happen to fall out of line with a vast majority of the people in my race.
But that's because we're all prejudice now aren't we? I mean that in the most sincere terms. We all feel that we've got SOME sort of superiority over another, and the fact that you've made this thread only proves that you either look down or look up to the others in your race. And other people do the same to you, and it's a huge cycle. That's all.
I'm rambling again. I'll shut up now before I stop making sense.
In short, I don't believe in the stereotype, I fit in it, and I fall out of it, I'm ME. And nothing should be used to define that other than the things I've done, the things that I'm doing right now in my life and the dreams and aspirations that I've got.
Thank you if you've read all of this.

Typically... this is what I think grades are in a view for asian parents.
A- Average: Every asian tries to do this. B- Bad: You're already below average! C- Crap: Might as well get Bish slapped and spanked with Bamboo stick. D- Death: You might as well kill yourself, as your parents want to kill you. F- Fecked.: Maybe you should just get different parents who don't leave you for being so bad.

I hate when all the girls/guys in my school assumes that all Asian guys are smart and have small "wee-wee's". I go to a school filled with Hispanics and African Americans that are culturally insensitive which I find to be a damn SHAME. It’s like I’m the only African American kid and a few other of my friends that are not “culture dumb” or ignorant to other races. I’ve also have a few Asian friends that are really smart and some that are not, but there still cool in my book.
Also I like to use the term African American because that’s what I am, because when people say "Black" i disagree, because I have a brown tent to my skin. And another thing how come the Caucasian's weren't deemed the title of European American? I’m not African American I'm an American but to put it in the politically correct term, I guess I’ll stick with African American. Remember this goes out to everyone not just me.

That's tru every one thing this way about asians. At school I'm always being asked for help in math and science. Just cuz I'm good at math doesn't mean that I like it. And yeah I get B's, even though they are mostly A's, and ppl go crazy like it's the apocolyps. (sp?) And I just hate it. I mean i don't mind it since it is kinda positive but it can get damn annoyinn. Sure I have a 4.0+, read manga and watch anime, really like singing, don't play a musical instrument, suck a ddr but like to play it, and wear glasses cuz of my stupid bro, and no martial arts (kung-fu) but I still don't like it.

There are a lot of stereotypes about Asians, but not all of them are good though...
Like Asians are anti-socials and have no life, or Asians are cruel to eat dogs and cats. All these are bad stereotypes.
