For those who didn't know, Watership Down exists. I live in England and in fact quite close. I think I was told a while ago that Richard Adams lived there and used to tell his children/grandchildren? stories about rabbits there and they asked him to write a book of them. 3nodding One of my dad's best friends lives there and we were invited to go once. I was so excited to see the real place where the story took place but we couldn't go in the end.

So i'm gonna post the real places where Watership Down took place. I hope this is interesting!

NOTE: These pictures aren't mine. Got them from the internetz. 3nodding

The book mentions that its a real place, I always thought that was so incredible though. I would love to visit sometime.

And those pictures are...soooo....cool. D: <3 Its one thing to know that Watership Down is real, but to see an actual picture is just awesome. You can tell that Richard Adams spared no detail at all in describing it, the pictures look like they came right out of my head. Its just awesome.
Thanks so much for sharing. biggrin You should try and go there sometime for yourself.

Yeah sweatdrop I asked my dad about it but he wasn't really interested *sigh*. Stupid old man D8< I demand he takes me there. xD

I was surprised to see how similar the images were to the ones in my head (or maybe the film has some influence now) but it really is amazing to see it!

Your welcome! I thought it would be quite nice to show the real settings. 3nodding

Hehe thank you! Those pictures are great heart I knew that it was real but it's wonderful to have a visual to go with it. Adams really did capture them perfectly in the book, made me see it just that way. It was surprising actually. Especially the train track and the bridge.

Wow! Those are incredible. It's so wonderful that all these are real places. It just adds a whole new level to things. Knowing that Watership really exists and that rabbits really roam the downs is comforting in a way.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing these (from the Internet)! =O
The places are beautiful and just like described in the book (of course, lol.)
One part that always stood out to me is when the movement of the clouds was described as strange to the rabbits because they never looked up to see them, except when they were climbing the hill.
I love the detail Richard Adams put into the story!!
