The Mercy Thompson series is a fairly entertaining series to read. The first book is titled Moon Called. It's about a woman named Mercy Thompson, she's a mechanic for a living and happens to be a walker, she transforms into a coyote. She was raised by a pack of werewolves from a young age. She lives next door to the local alpha of the pack and his daughter. There are a few different kinds of supernatural people in these books. There is a fairly good plot, tons of mystery and it will leave you guessing until almost the last minute. This book has almost no sex scenes so if you're into the romance I don't think there is a sex scene until the end of the third book...
I've been on a werewolf/shifter book kick lately.

Have you read all three ^^? I love Mercy. And there's relationships without tons of sex which is a refreshing change of pace.
While on this shifter kick, have you come across a book called Stray? Its Rachel Vincent, and I believe the second one is due out this year. Its a wereleopard book, btw. I'm glad because serious, werewolves get too much play razz
Have you ever read books by Dara Joy?

Yes, I've read all three and passed them along to my mother and now she's hooked on them as well 3nodding I kind of expect all the sex scenes now in the books because it seems almost all the authors are doing it. I was really happy when I read the book and it had none. I feel bad because I didn't like Samuel and I wanted her with Adam the entire time. >.>I actually picked Stray up when it came out, it was next to the register at B&N and I looked at it and just bought it. Later on while I was reading it I was like HELL YES. Rogue (the 2nd book) comes out April 1st. I'm eagerly awaiting that one. I agree with you on the fact that werewolves seem to get all the love in the shifter books :[ So it was just awesome that this one is about werecats. Start up a thread about her if you want. heart I've never read anything from Dara Joy, fill me in!

I love Adam so much more than Samuel. (He's a jerk for what he did to her in her teens evil ) And Adam is so awesomely awesome ^^
I know what you mean about the book. I picked it up on a whim and LOVED it. I was like, is the next book out yet.... gonk 2008? And now that its almost here I cant wait.
burning_eyes You've never read Dara Joy!?
Okay, here goes: She started out strong with the Matrix series (has nothing to do with the movie, don't worry). But she had a falling out with her publisher and has just gotten back on her feet (its been years).
I would suggest looking up one and see if you like the story. There are three books in the Matrix series: Knight of a Trillion Stars, Rejar, and Mine to Take. You don't have to read them in order, but I like too ^^
EDIT: I looked it up for ya ^^ This is the first book in the series. She's written other stuff too, but this series is my favorite from her.
knight of a trillion stars Fired from her job, exhausted from her miserable Boston commute, the last thing Deana Jones needed when she got home was to find an alien in her living room. But how else to explain the magnificent man who claimed he was from beyond the stars? He said that his name was Lorgin and that she was part of his celestial destiny. Deana thought his reasoning was ridiculous, and she knew he was making an error of cosmic proportions. But his touch was electric and his arms strong, and when she first felt the sizzling impact of his uncontrollable desire, Deana started to wonder if maybe their passion wasn't written in the stars. The first novel from New York Times bestselling sensation Dara Joy!

You don't really have to read them in order, though its a bit useful for the background story. I would try Borders to see if they have it. I don't know what state/country you're in, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it in the Borders I've been to in Nor Cal.
Edit: Hehehe, sorry. Nor Cal = Northern California

Gemiinii: I mainly go to B&N because Borders is farther away by about 20 minutes. But if Barnes doesn't have it then I'll check borders/half price book store. I live in Texas the Dallas area.
Karasu: YES! I'm pretty excited about her book coming out. It will be interesting to see if Bones finds her or not. And if he'll be pissed. heart

Its a really good series, all the stories so far have had the right mix of action, humor, and romance. Her spinoff series, the Dream-Hunter series, is less quality imho, but I will read the next one and see if I warm up to it.

Okay, I'll look around for it. I think Moraya also told me about that series.
Dara Joy - Knight of a Trillion Stars / Rejar / Mine to Take (are those in order?) Sherilyn Kenyon - Fantasy Lover Christine Feehan - Dark Prince (I think that is the one I read way back when but I'll check it out anyway)
