For those of you who have been in a cave the past several years, you might have somehow escaped the plethora of Neopagan podcasts that are out there for your enjoyment. The podcasting revolution is little else but a blessing to smaller out-of-the-mainstream communities, allowing open venues for expression that would otherwise be nonexistent. There are well over a dozen Neopagan podcasts and many more whose topics encompass subjects of interest to a modern Pagan practitioner. The
Proud Pagan Podcasters is an association of many of the Neopagan podcasters and is a great place to get started in the podcasting realm.
Did you know that our podcasts are going so strong that last year, one of ours completed for a special award in Religion and Spirituality where all the other entrants were Christian? Furthermore, a peek at podcast polling sites like Podcast Alley shows that many of ours are in the top fifty, if not the top twenty-five. For an out-of-the-mainstream movement, that's pretty darned impressive isn't it?While the mainstream media might ignore the fact that we exist, we're disproportionally smashing the boards considering the other podcasts are mostly Christian. With over 70% of the American population, you'd think we wouldn't possibly be able to compete with them!
Here's a thread to chat about your favorite casts or perhaps discuss a bit of the content that pops into these shows (though truly, most of the time these deserve their own threads - a fair number of my own topics are inspired from the various podcasts). Do you have any favorites? Critiques and reviews? A particular show or episode you think everyone just must listen to? If you've never even heard of podcasting or were aware that there were so many Neopagan podcasts, this is also a place to ask questions! While I don't quite listen to *all* of them, I'm familiar with many of them so I might be able to direct you to one you'd like!
