The half shadowling raised her head in the dead night air. All sounds had stopped, even from the animals that use to make their home in the forest. The only one that dared was a distant owl, hooting on a rare occasion when she was motionless.
Areikyl shook her muzzle as she stepped her hooves forward on the cold ground. She could feel the shaking of a family of squirrels in a tree across from her. It almost made her laugh, if she never wanted the rodents to know she was there her presence would have remained unknown.
It was a chilly night with the wind shivering through the tall branches above. Like usual, she was alone this night. Her bonded had left on errands. She never questioned. He had his job just as she had hers and there was a great deal when she preferred it this way, alone at last. It wasn't that she disliked him but the dragoness wasn't that social of a creature and she couldn't really say she and her bonded were close, it was more like a business arrangement between the two.
Arei flicked her wings and threw her head back. Drawing in a cool breath of air she continued on in silence.

Madhu was a graceful wyrm... But he always had his quirks. Even in his near-silent tread of the forest, he couldn't help but to make a little noise. Wings having been curled against his back for comfort, he stretched as soon as he came to a clearing large enough to do so.
Unfortunately, this disturbed a family of chipmunks, who then chattered at him angerly and fled. Snorting quietly at them, the hoofed Wyrm folded his wings again and took a listen to the forest.
He hadn't been paying much attention before... He figured that there was nothing to fear. He was an able dragon, certainly enough to defend himself.

And there. Right there she heard a noise. It was quiet and yet heavy, someone or something with a lot of weight to bare. Usually that only meant one of two things; a humanoid or wyrm. And most of the time when there was one there was the other. However, in this case she was sure it was only one, and the heavier movements usually meant a wyrm.
Her devil tail flicked behind her. She wanted this time alone. She had been counting the minutes until the strange shadow creature flickered out for the night. This caused a stream of agitation to well up in the pit of her stomach. Rather she should carry on and let whatever befell her from the strange intrusion happen or just sit and watch became a battle in her mind.
Finally, she decided to let whatever happen to happen. She turned in direction and headed down the bank toward a small river. There she drew in one last breath of the chilly night air and dove into the water. The wyrm was sure to hear something that loud. So whatever its decision was would be the fate that rested upon the two.

Having stopped to listen, Madhu surely heard the breathing of the other wyrm, her splash into the water. Well, he didn't know if it was a her or not... But another male would have some up to challenge him.
Now there was a conundrum. What to do... Follow the other wyrm? His Bonded should be alright... The boy couldn't get into -that- much trouble... But then again, this was Kael...
Making up his mind, the Light Wyrm moved to follow the sounds. There was a river, he could smell the water... And yes, it was a she-wyrm there. He paused, just in sight of the riverbank. What would this she-wyrm do now?

Arei floated mindlessly through the river. She had almost forgot the presence of another wyrm;almost. She had drifted below the surface, for once enjoying the wash as she usually despised water. The liquid buckled and her black head peeked out over the rim, her dark blue eyes catching sight of the white wyrm. She mused inwardly, she had hoped he would leave her be.
Do you make it a habit to watch girls bathe? It was a joke. She hadn't really cared that he was watching her take a swim. However, it wasn't determined that it would be construed that way. She had a way of turning even the most lite subjects serious.
Finally, her hooves met solid ground and she pushed herself forward, emerging from the liquid muck. Her black scales glittered as the water shivered down her body. She sat and instantly began to preen as if not even noticing he was still there. Her eyes hardly even looked at him but she had seen him. If she wasn't so prideful she might admit that he was a very attractive wyrm.

The white Wyrm merely tilted his head a bit. He had a good sense of humor... This dark-hued wyrm was quite interesting. She was rather beautiful... But he had no reason to take a mate.
No, having wyrmlings would be a great time in his life... It was not for now. Kael certainly needed just as much attention as a baby, if not more, and his Bonded was important.
"Hm, not often." He chuckled, watching her for a few moments more. "They usually chase me away first."

Well, I can most certainly see why. She cocked a brow with a light chuckle. She fanned her wings out behind her to release any locked up water that might have seeped in. Then, as if a dog, she shook the rest out of her scales and her head suddenly raised. Do you have a name?
If Arei had known his thoughts about hatchlings she might have laughed. She hated children, and she could have much cared less about finding a mate. Intimacy wasn't something she was acquainted with and much preferred it that way. If she found a mate it might be long after any normal wyrm would wait. Perhaps that was exactly her plan, to push away any would be mates. She had certainly done so with anyone else who had tried to become close to her.

The chaotic Wyrm merely gave a grin, a playful show of his fangs as he curled his tail against one of his hooves. "Oh, truly now? Am I that ugly?" He was merely playing; He knew that he wasn't the Adonis of Wyrms, but he certain wasn't horrible either. "Madhu. And yours?"
This female was interesting... He was glad that his Bonded was not here to ruin this meeting. His previous encounters with Wyrms ended abruptly when his Bonded did something stupid... Tripping over his own feet, or giving an unneeded comment.

Arei's head raised at the male, a slight grin coursing over the lips that hid her fangs. She was astounded, for once there was a wyrm that didn't seem to have the intelligence of a hatchling and could produce somewhat of a whitty banter. Amazing perhaps even more that she hadn't wanted to gorge on his throat. Ugly? Her blue eyes chuckled for her as her head coyly played downward. Certainly not, but I would be curious to your reply if I had said you were.
She was, in fact, enjoying the trivial chitchat which was rather rare for her. Most wyrms were beyond her humorous anticidotes and thought her mediocre or worse, cold and closed off. Perhaps she was both, she certainly couldn't deny such truths. However, for some reason this male seemed interested, that was by far a stranger ordeal.
Well, I'm pleased to meet you Sir Madhu. She lowered her muzzle into a bow and stretched her wings out behind her in her usual graditude when meeting someone new. I'm Areikyl, Arei for short if you wish. (air-ray-keel)
She was half glad that her bonded was also not here. Draein was almost more serious than she, also much more arrogent and ridged. The shadow would have been bored or merely offended the wyrm without any thought to his actions.
So what brings you all this way? She was now somewhat looking at the brown earth below her, her tail twitching as if a cat, revealing a less confident nature than had surely surfaced at first meet.
