My mom told me about this. She said that there are 200.000 home-schooling families in California. How can the government just declare that to be illegal? It's completely illogical.
When public education was first established, it was a service to the people. Now it is a requirement, and the government thinks it owns children.

It will be an item of discussion at the Libertarian Party of Riverside County (CA) tonight.
The whole ruling was badly written, with legal illogic and verbal bias that may open it up to being depublished if it cannot be overturned.
*crosses fingers*

I was very pleased that so many people spoke out from so many forums and walks of life. But even though the Superintendent of Schools says they won't enforce it, unless they actually overturn the ruling (or apply it specifically to the one family), it could come back to haunt us all!

I just heard that CA banned homeschooling. Is this true!? I am sorry I didn't hear about it sooner.
