There should be one right?

does anyone know if that's really going to be true?

I think I saw once someone saying something about an anime with Aya as the main character... but that could also have been a dream xD

I'm sure many people have said and heard this, but I do think Touhou is best retained in it's danmaku medium. That's the real key Touhou--playing the game. You experience the music, the storyline firsthand, and all that good stuff. If it became an anime, then you'd be watching the game being played, unless ZUN thought of a seperate theme for a show. Knowing ZUN, he won't leave it up to someone else because he's super protective of his "babies". After all that Touhou has become, though, ZUN's got a job and his video game line is extra.

Alice Margatroid
ZUN wants total control over his series and "his babies". An anime series where he is not the sole writer, director, and producer would more than likely not meet his credentials.

Quoted for being true and an earlier thread. Yes there has been some attempts at a Touhou anime from some companies. Sound Holic released that short animated movie of Touhou at C73 but from reviews and comments I read that was really awful to do.

I heard Maikaze is working on a Touhou anime but I dought that will be anymore succesful. Honestly, A danmaku game series just does not cut in the success as an anime series. Now of course as many of you know, ZUN is a man who woulde rather work alone when it comes to his creation. I bet he had it hard enough when he needed Twilight Frontier to help him with some of his games.

Now, actually working on an Anime series woulde just be a waste of time. But really, ZUN is a good as an artist but not animation quality good and no way in hell woulde he seek out side help. In conclusion, I for one oppose the fact of a Touhou anime.

aaahh... the fan made ones are pretty good
having an anime would expand Touhou to more people and become... trendy ^3^
but I understand ZUN way of thinking... maybe he should drink more beer xD
but even though he says he want control over his "babies" there's a lot of fan stuff that even he started following, like calling Meiling China and etc

Although, it's fun to imagine how a Touhou anime would turn out. Look at Walfas, and rozenmystica. Those are just flashes, but if they got developed into full-length episodes...it'd be interesting, to say the least.

A Touhou anime really wouldn't be much of a stretch. There's so much doujin and such out there that ZUN practically supports character and idea wise, and aside from that he's also shown that he can cooperate with others... Just look at the Tasofro games.

Still, he'd probably want to be at least the main writer and, which wouldn't really be too bad or unwanted. He is the most knowledgeable on the characters, after all, even if he does incorporate a few ideas here and there from others. ^_^
