There is nothing wrong....

User Image

Just a small avatar art. Don't ask about the gun. I totally forgot to put the perspective into it, and the color/shading isn't right.

I intentionally made some of the colors differ from my avatar.

Somehow, the arms don't look right.

Too much dark shading. If you know what I'm talking about. It's in the arms.

The "L" is screwed up.

Heck, I don't know why I even posted this.

Oh yea, people tell me I criticize my own art more than they do.

LEAVE ME ALONE.

Oh, and, for the good of you own soul, please don't even think about being an art thief. I have not merged the layers for this, so I have the original with the layers separated - that should suffice as the evidence that I had done it.

lol, you are way too harsh on yourself. The picture is amazing, and I really like the L. What program did you use to make it?

The L is in the "Old English Text" font. I tried to copy it. Obviously, it didn't come out right.

I used Shi-Painter.

you tried, and you succeeded (hmm that sounds a lot more cheesy than I thought it would...oh well...)

I don't really have any computer programs for art except paint, but i've really been considering getting at least one. Do you have any suggestions?

Oh, Shi-Painter isn't really a "program." It's an oekaki thing.

I don't really use art programs, so I can't give you any useful or dependable suggestions.

But people seem to use Photoshop a lot. That's all I really know. Dx Sorry....

lol that's ok, i kinda prefer doing art the "old fashioned" way, but it's hard to compete with a lot of the computer artwork out there

Oblivion?

"Old fashion" as in traditional art?

Yea, I prefer that over digital, too.

Computers are taking over everything. Even art. I think that's ridiculous.

Yeah, i totally agree. I think technology is great in that its made a lot of things easier, but computer art and traditional art are on two completely different playing fields. I can't say that computer art isn't art, because lots of it is really beautiful, but I don't think it should replace good ol' paper and pencils/paints.

Besides, I can barely draw on the computer. Nothing comes out right. Dx

I can't draw on it either (Frog has taken over teh mules XD)

I do use photoshop myself, and when it comes to coloring my art, I always prefer the use good ol' pencils!

Although I like the effects you can get with photoshop, it's doesn't have any natural changes in the coloring that make it look more real. Too perfect, you know? Like fantasy.

Also, I like it! Your art has attitude, and I like the shading on the hair.

Also, I think the proportion on the arms is fine, but it's the black lines on the left arm (your right) that I think are bugging you.. ?

The only reason they seem a bit off is that nothing else is shaded with black.

Even the folds of the cloth follow muscle groups, so I'd say that's the only thing that stands out.

Those gloves remind me of Batman, lol. 4laugh

I guess you're right.

I can never understand how to use Photoshop. Dx My comprehension of things isn't the greatest in the world. Dx

.........OH NO, THE HAIR. I DO NOT LIKE THE HAIR.

My friend recently taught me how to color using a much more effective method.... I'm experimenting with it right now.

Oh, and thanks.

I just know some basics of photoshop and I'm probably far from mastering it, I'm really amazed by how some people can create such flawless art in it. I'm pretty much for digital myself, I use Flash to draw my stuff in, not such complicated layer system and has a special look, also got the power to get very restricted lines and bend them as I wish. heart vectors
Flash is like meant for animating and making games but I really like just sitting around and drawing independent pictures in it that turn out kinda sketchy yet very clean. 3nodding
