Aro was walking through the slush created by the low waves washing over the sandy beach, smiling at the mist from he leftover rain. She shook her forelock to rid it of the remaining dew, a slight skip in her step. Earlier that day it had been much hotter, but now it was almost chilly and her tail flicked anxiously. What was her mother doing now? Her sister? Aro couldn't help but wonder, and stare at the horizon blankly as she contiuned.
For a moment, she hesitated, but she shook her head, and set off at a lope, dancing through the waves and paying no mind to her pawprints as they were washed away.

Small paws padded through the muck, almost sinking to his elbows as the youth made his way curiously towards the shoreline. His mother always said to never approach the water, and in all logic...he wasn't. He was still on the land, despite how watery and slippery it was. Indu's four legs were now painted brown as he continued, ears flicking alertly. He was so near....the reflective water of the beach looking just like the gray sky above. And then, a rumbling came, and Indu blinked hesitantly. A wave was coming forth!
Sloshing his feet from the mud, Indu turned and bolted from the incoming water, like a cat threatened. The water was fast, but Indu just barely made it out of the waves reach, panting as he watched it slow and slide back down the shore. That was a close one...

Aro too, heard the wave, but she only stepped back a few steps, facing the water and letting it wash over her, from her leggings to her toes, the sea was refreshingly crisp. She turned her head from the brine, and when she opened her eyes, the first thing she spotted was the little kit, staring warily of the sea. She saw him panting, and laughed, her voice somewhat muffled by the drone of the gulls and the roar or the sea.
He was awfully cute, and his mainly black body reminded her of her sister, and her eyes looked at him fondly. She was distant again, until another wave washed over her, getting her from head to toe. "EEK!" She shouted, and leapt backwards, shaking and staring angrily at the sea, as though it was a friend that had done her wrong.

Once the male felt comfortable with the distance of the water, only then did he take a wider attention of his surroundings. A fleck of gold danced in the corner of his eye, and the boy turned his head in quiet curiousity. Another Ulaya? His ears flittered up and down in debate. His parents always told him to keep from strangers. But the other was still a good distance away, so was he to move? Indu wasn't too sure, never knowing when he was being obediant or crossing the line.
Purple eyes blinked as he watched the other get engulfed in a wave, and his legs were frozen in the spot. Was the other okay? Was she angry now? An urge to check the other's condition overwhelmed the kit. But the sense of waryness kept him at bay. Torn, Indu instead sat on the cold mud, observing the energetic female.

Aro shuddered and muttered to herself as she began to shiver. "Oh sun....." She moaned, wishing it was now out to warm her golden coat. Aro shook from head to toe, trying to dry, even a little - but it was in vain, as another wave broke at her chest. She danced nimbly away, now sniviling and feeling quite dejected. Without even knowing it, she headed towards the small kit, head and ears down, mirroring her spirits. Dragging her feet, Aro was well on her way to brushing past little Indu, and she sighed heavily.

Smaller ears gave a shake to the wet air around him, just catching the other Ulaya's words. Yes...the sun would be nice right about now. Eyes looked up to the dull and heavy sky, as if hoping to see the bright orb. Nothing. Indu heard another wave approaching and curiously, he looked back to see what the other would do now. Again, she was 'attacked by the cold salty water, and Indu almost felt pity for the miss.
Head tilted as the other seemed to deflate....and walk in his direction. Shaking back to awareness, Indu stepped back once, twice. What should he do? If only she had been like him, and stayed in the drier sands. "....Hey....you alright maam?...." Indu pointed his snout and eyes to the ground bashfully, not used to saying so much to strangers.

Aro sneezed, expelling the salt water from her nostrils, and she looked at the kit she would have narrowly missed had he been those two steps closer. "Ma'am?" She inquired, looking around for her mother, whom she often heard called such, but never herself. ".....Do you mean me? I've always thought of myself as more of a 'miss', but I can understand where you would get the former rather than the latter." Aro was speaking again, though not entirely to Indu as she nodded her head in thought, "Oh, but other than being soaked and drenched to the bone, I suppose I am alright, and it seems you have faired better than I." Aro was looking at the still-dry fur of the kit, and she laughed weakly, embarrassed of her appearance, and wondering what her mother would say if she saw her looking like she did.

Oh. Earflick. "...I'm sorry then, miss...."
One paw drew up to his chest in small avoidance of the sneeze. And his short legs gave a quiver as the grey sky seemed to growl in distant hunger. Was it going to rain some more today? Or was this just the way the weather flowed near the ocean? Purple eyes shone toward the adult cautiously, taking in her words. Faired better? "...Maybe." He hadn't even thought of it that way. He just didn't plan on getting wet.
"Hmm." The teen glanced along the shoreline, noticing a worn down hut of sorts. Well, not even a hut. Just a weathered down piling of palm leaves structured poorly like a tent. And set safely in the drier parts of the sand. "Then, I suppose you should go dry off?.." Nose scrunched as a small speck of rain cried, too small to even see. But just as wet to feel. Ugh.

Aro groaned innerly, why hadn't she seen those before!? Her hide twitched as she wanted to shake it vigorously, but for the sake of the skittish kit, she refrained, and with more droplets pulled towards the earth, it would only be in vain anyway. "Oh! We should hurry.....? What's your name, again?" Aro looked down at the kit as she began to trot towards the hut, head thrown over her shoulder so she could ensure his pursuit.
"Well, I'm Aro anyway~" She said it with a playful smile, happy to have her short name, as it was much easier to introduce than that of the rest of her family.

Indu's eyes fell half lidded in a sort of tired bemusement. He'd never....well, no he had met another adult this silly. His own mother could be spacey and joyful at times too. So the young boy wasn't annoyed by the golden ulaya's ways at all. "My name is Indu...." Hadn't he said so earlier? He couldn't recall.
Once under the limp and modest palm leaves, he shook out his striped fur. Much better. Then purple eyes drifted to the other. "Aro? Nice to meet you then." A distant groan could be hear from the sky, and the kit sat in quiet amusement to this weather.

By the time they had reached the hut, the sand was beginning to dapple under the crying sky, and Aro kicked her heels up as she entered. She then threw a glance over her shoulder to watch Indu. "You'd better hurry, Indu! You'll get soaked!" As she finished speaking, the sky opened up further, and the sea became like a hungry beast, reaching further with jagged waves, threatening to consume anything left in its wake. Her bright blue eyes stared out from under her damp forelock, and she waited anxiously, though Indu was not in any true danger.
