I learned to play it and I have a cool distortion setting that I made. It sounds pretty sick, I plan on perfecting the whole song.

We need as many subforums as we feel we need. And they're here for a reason, so maybe you should try using them.

They make a lot of sense when you think about it. If you'd put a tab in, you could put it in the tabs forum. But you're just talking about one song, so it goes in the lyrics and songs forum. EASY.

Hmm organization, a bit too complicated for me. @ Everyone, I kind of find it inefficient to have so many subs in such a small guild. I don't check every single subforum and it would be easier for me if there weren't so many. Now lets get back to topic

Back to topic it is xD
I love that bassline. It just feels so awesome when you play it. What distortion setting do you use? I usually go for a modified version of Velcro Fuzz on my Fuzz Factory, with less compression. I play it on guitar, btw, not bass.

Really the only thing I changed was the distort to either fuzz or thrash, I don't remember. Everything else is normal. Once I get me expression pedal I'm going to use it to put a slight octave effect on it once it gets to the part where the guitar starts playing. When listening to the song, I can tell the bass gets heavier once every part comes in.

I usually use overdrive or delay to make things sound heavier. But then, I don't play bass, so I don't know much about it. Do you play it with a pick? I'm always amazed that Chris can play it with his fingers at that speed.

I'm always amazed that Chris can play it with his fingers at that speed. I use my fingers and in my local band, I usually play twice as fast on a normal base. Being in a metal band, you need to know really how to play fast. I also use the same settings for other Muse songs. Today I just learned The Thoughts of a Dieing Atheist and the distortion fat in so well that I couldn't even really tell it was there. I know it wasn't because it was too quite because when I was playing it just sounded so good.

There's another thread in here somewhere which has Matt's amp settings in, I remember when I first reset my amp to them. It was beautiful. Supermassive Black Hole was just awesome. That is just the best song to play ever.
I think it was something like Bass-4, Mid-6, High-7, Reverb-1, Drive-10. I can't be assed to go and look at my amp to find out.
