why do people think slivers are all that? They seem good, good support, amazing abilities, but your forgetting one thing. Slivers depend on slivers. WoG, Dueling grounds, Damnation stop slivers completely. Land destruction is another way to stop those nasty slivers. Also, slivers sometimes have negative effects on slivers. Plague sliver and any "fog" card (fog, holy day, etc.) is basically a slap to a sliver players face. Also, Conspiracy allows you to play creatures and allow them to gain your opponents effects, but you don't boost your opponents creatures at all.

They have print in only 3 blocks....and not really good amount of print, not to mention they have no support cards (ie: spells, lands artifact or enchantments themed to the tribe). I call that lack luster support at best. I think there are more samurai then slivers in print. No, globlins, elves, zombies and wizards (I believe), have the most cards of any tribe, and definitely in support cards. Goblin war strike? Yeah, broken as ********, and they still reprinted it. That is why slivers are only the 3rd most busted tribe in the games, because of the lack of overall print.

As stated earlier, Slivers are only good when they are high in numbers. It's all a numbers game with them. WoG or Damnation will destroy any Sliver Deck completly. Or use changeling cards to aquire the effects, or use a Plague Sliver against them. Basically, as long as the number of Slivers are low, they will lose. But if they are high, and you have no WoG, Damnation, etc., well then you're screwed.

Slivers can be bad news if allowed to flourish. Muscle + Sinew, with 4 each out is pretty nasty. Don't get me started on evasion type abilities, as well as trample - yikes! O_O I thought they were pretty nasty way back when, though I started with Tempest block. And, I was re-introduced just in time for Onslaught.
So, given the frequency of which slivers are released, might I wager that they plan for slivers to be an extended thing once they rotated out of their respective standards?

In all honesty I haven't played against a tournament sliver deck. I honesty didn't know that there was any other kind of sliver play.

I love the Slivers personally. I'm BEST with Slivers, mostly because I play best running a 5 color deck. They may not have support JUST for them, but they've got support behind the scenes, you just have to search for it in the cards and see what can affect them greatly for the best.

My friend has a full sliver deck. It was good, until I found the way to kill it. And then I got a few changelings, and he stopped using it.
I love Slivers. The ability to create a god army of low cost but each gaining the abilities of the others. . .awesome.

Slivers are a newbies dream deck, and a champions goal...to make a sliver deck that can actually win in a tournament.......Slivers are fun to play around with, but i have never seen one win a tournament...they're either too slow, or too bulky to get what you need....

The ability to create a god army of low cost but each gaining the abilities of the others. . .awesome. it's called play board wipe, you win. Or hell, play a red, white or black deck with a fair amount of a remove and a good ability to assess the keystones of their current sliver group. Green white board control actually can wreck slivers hard. 3rd turn wrath of god is a b***h. It is the same with goblins and elves. Problem is, such decks are not popular for multi player (and people play too few removal spells in most casual decks anyway) so any swarm deck wins more games than it should.
