Post your moderator quotes on this subject here in this thread. It would be best if you can link to where it was said, if in the forums, or what moderator said it.

I edited the colors so you can see who is an admin and who is a moderator. Admin's quotes are in orange and moderator's in green. Users' quotes are black or other color than orange and green.

Hello everyone,

I've just found out that there was an error on the security code which caused a lot of users to have their accounts banned on March 10. We're working on fixing the problems now and your accounts will be restored shortly. We're terribly sorry for the trouble this had caused and we'll keep you updated with any more information. crying

eaTaiaG
Hi everyone,

We goofed.

We regularly remove botting accounts from our site in order to improve the user experience. During these efforts earlier this week, we inadvertently banned some accounts that should not have been. We believe a few hundred non-bot accounts were affected and we're very sorry about that. We're in the process of reversing that for those who should not have been affected, and that reversal is expected to be ready to be rolled out sometime middle of next week or possibly earlier. We've made some changes so that this doesn't happen again and thanks for your patience while we fix this.

If you're an innocent user, then again, our apologies and I hope you'll forgive us when this is all over. If you're an actual botter, we're not done with you yet. smile

This can be found in a few places, including an announcement in this guild.

Hello everyone -

We are continuing to work on this issue and appreciate your patience. If you've submitted a feedback form you will get the reply that you were banned for botting and possibly a link to this thread.

We ask that you continue to be patient while we work through this.

Hi, i just recieved an answer to the mail i sent on March 10.
The answer was the same but it included this at the bottom:

Quote:

> > > > If you were banned for botting on March 10, 2008, please read
> the
> > > following
> > > > thread:
> > > >
> > > > http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/chatterbox/please-read-if-an-account-was-banned-on-3-10/t.38883045/

So i sent an email just a few minutes ago telling them i already knew that thread and they answered:

Quote:

Hello,

Then, please be patient. We should have everything worked out by the end of
the week.

So i guess we just have to be patient.

Hello Taligator,

since I understand you have something to do with resolving the situation about the banned accounts, I hope you can answer my question.

I am the Vice Captain of the March 10 guild, and try to gather information and give advice to our members on what they should do.

Lately, the members have started to wonder if there is something they need to do to let you guys know that they are part of the March 10th blockings. So far, I haven't wanted to counsel them to fill out a feedback form, since this seems to be a case out of the ordinary, and I don't want to clog up the feedback queue.

Now I hear that a feedback form might, indeed, be advisable.

What do you say? Is the word from Gaia that they don't have to do anything but wait, for now, or that they should send in the feedback form A.S.A.P if they haven't already?

Best wishes ~
little lizard

We know every person that was banned on March 10th (and every other day) so there is nothing the members need to do.

We have made corrections and once the script runs, any person who was incorrectly banned will be unbanned.

Please do not continue to send in feedback forms unless you want us to tell you why you are banned (if you don't already know). We will not be using those as a guide for who to unban.

Hi Aeony,

I saw you comment to another user with the same problem I'm having and hope it's okay for me to PM you too. My main account, ***, was blocked earlier tonight and I honestly have no idea why. I haven't done anything against the TOS so far as I can tell and I'm just really confused.

Any insight into this would be great, as I'd like to take steps to getting my account unblocked if need be.

Thanks!

Hang on, please, while this is being looked into. 3nodding
At this point no steps are necessary since the administration is aware of the issue.

Thanks for your patience.

As I said, we are looking into this. Please give us some more time. ^^
okay just worries me that is all i mean that account means a lot to me i hae had it since me and my daughter joined.and okay i remain patient.
It's totally understandable that you are worried. ^^ I would be too. But we're on it. 3nodding

It seems I can't have more than 5 quotes at once, this conversation above was in fact a bit longer but every time I try to post it, it cuts off the first few quotes. I'll just leave it as this, for now.

Dear Morbid Gnome-

My main account was banned/blocked earlier this eve and many have suggested in the Q&A forums to PM a mod about it. So here I am, asking if I could know why my main LinnLeClear was blocked tonight. I was on there earlier today and was trying to log back in to check on my sales when I became blocked.

Your timely response will be highly appreciated-if you need anymore information, please feel free to ask.

Thank you.
Your account was permanently banned for Botting - Using a script, macro, page refresher, and/or any automated program to gain Gaia gold and/or items, make Gaia Online accounts, or cheat at Gaia Online games; violation of the Terms of Service of Gaia Online.

Permanently banned for botting?

Alright, I understand that there is a form somewhere that I can fill out if I've been wrongly accused of something? This is definitely one of those situations. I won't take up your time trying to argue that I haven't been botting, so if you could possibly let me know where this form is, I'd be grateful. I've heard that this has been happening to a lot of people today and would like to get this resolved as painlessly as possible.
Normally I would advise you to fill out the feedback form, but we're currently looking into the recent bannings. If you don't receive a response withing a few days-a week, then please send in a form. For now, please hold on and be patient.

Users who paid a legit amount of gold for an item will never be punished in any ways. Transactions might be reversed if the item was hacked, but that's pretty much it.

The banning process starts with locating botting activities, not the activity of funneling items and gold, so that can't really happen...

Hello to all of the admins! Thank you for taking the time to talk to the community through this thread. biggrin

I have a question about protecting ourselves from botted gold and botted items, and being mistaken for a bot. How can we detect which items on the marketplace or the exchange forum are actually botted items? Will there ever be a designated person in the future who will be willing to check our items to make sure that they are legitamate?

Also, I have heard that people who use mules to transfer money around are being mistaken for bots and banned. Is there truth to this? And again, how can we protect ourselves from being mistaken for a bot?

Thanks in advance if you get to my question!

Ah, in that case, I'll tell you what I can tell you when I can tell you. To be honest I probably wouldn't know if anyone were to be unbanned until they knew anyway, but if there's progress or something I'll let you know 3nodding

It's nothing you did; the system, for lack of a better way of saying it, blew itself up, and so it's randomly banned a bunch of users.

I'll add your name to the list so that when the administrators are able to fix things tomorrow or the day after, you will be unbanned as soon as they are able to.

On the subject of being able to log in to your banned account using the forgotten password feature, PaleBlueSlump said:
PaleBlueSlump
If it were possible, it would be a great big ToS violation, yes. Glitch exploitation and ban evasion is absolutely not allowed.
However, the information there is not true. That member is not logged into a banned account, and the password retrieval system does not provide access to banned accounts, only accounts that you are unable to access due to password problems.
Your account needs to remain banned while this situation is investigated; I understand that it is hard (I have even been in that very situation myself before, so I know exactly how it feels), but there is nothing else that can be done at this time.
Thanks Mandalan Legacy for asking and sharing!

Gaia does not ban accounts for "no reason".

Check the email linked to the account. If there's nothing from Gaia, PM any Site Moderator and ask why your account was banned.

But you can't tell me why I was blocked?

I feel that this needs to be looked at more, so I have passed on the issue. Just hold on for a bit, and get back with me at the end of the week. I can't promise I will have an update, but it will be given a second look, I promise 3nodding

Just keep looking for that email!

Thank you for your kindly replied support.. it's the end of the week, I guess I should write you now.
I am still looking for that email but I didn't recieve anything, yet [and I guess I won't].
I tried to log in 11th March and couldn't. I am one of those 10th March banned accounts. I don't know if you already heard of us but we have a Guild and also a thread in the Chatterbox. I just wanted to ask if you can find any reasons why I was banned. I am innocent like hundreds of others who were banned on that date. Lanzer already knows about this still.. my only question is why I was blocked/ banned.
Hope you can help me or at least find the time to look ♥
Thank you for reading.

We are well aware of this, and the situation is being looked into.
