It seems when i hear a pronounciation, it seems like it is said very fast. but when i practice making scentences i feel like i may be saying the words too fast thus sounding like im not using spaces inbetween words.
Also i am not sure what the difference is for doubles. Iknow that is it spoken for twice the length but how long is the original length. I feel like im saying the words to slow. sweatdrop I cant find what pace to speak words and sentances.

To begin, listen to clips of people speaking the language, like during artist interviews and what have you. Everyone has their own pace, you just gotta find yours

dont worry about the speed in which you are speaking... the important part is understanding what you are saying =) when first starting out, you will speak slowly... but as you get used to speaking japanese the words will just naturally flow...
its kind of like.... when speaking english... you dont really put spaces between words do you? except when typing =p in japanese... in terms of speaking anyways - its the same way.... your words will flow into sentences... when you type japanese.... there really isn't a need to put spaces between words....
as for held sounds... dont worry about it... itll come to you.... much like the speed at which you speak japanese ^^
if you hav any questions feel free to message me or you can ask me for mai email address =) m.i.a. ^^

There really aren't any spaces in between words when you speak Japanese. The language is spoken in such a way that each syllable is approximately the same length. The space in a double consonant is also about the same length as a syllable.
The speed at which you speak doesn't really matter, though. You don't always speak English at exactly the same speed, do you? Sometimes you speak quickly, and sometimes you speak more slowly. And even if you speak more slowly than native Japanese speakers, they're not going to understand you any less if you speak slowly, but rather they'll actually understand you better. Ever heard somebody with a foreign accent speak to you in English? It's a lot harder to understand them if they speak quickly, huh?

Listening to native speakers is the best way to go.
