So last night I was studying my Bible, and realised that there is no Biblical evidence for a rapture of the church. In fact the it is completly contidicted by the verse (can't remember the reference right now or the exact wording)
"Christians will suffer greatly in the end times."
One of my friends said that verse only applies to those who are saved after the rapture.(He fully supports the rapture) So I asked him, and I ask you as well... If you believe in te rapture, where did you first here the theory? Mom or Dad after thy read the Left Behind series (or after you did...)
Well ironically After I was finished studying, I watched an End of the World special on the History channel. Saying the the rapture was just a scare tactic invented by a man, if I remember correctly, in the 1800s.
Hopefully I can research this more when I have time.

Where did you first here the theory?

ok so i qiuckly looked into it...and theres no rapture in the bible because that name wasnt used
but the rapture is real
in the bible it says we wont know when it is coming....we will only know after (during tribulation)

Matthew 24:30-36
"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other."

"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father

{jesus doesnt even now the time....so that the monks know when the world is ending is a myth}

That could also be talking about the final judgement.

Not sure what monks you are talking about. But the Aztec calender had predicted lunar eclipseslong before they happened.(Ibelieve 500 years before?) So while a bit ludacrious, the calender stopping at December, 22, 2012 is a bit odd
