Hi everyone,

We goofed.

We regularly remove botting accounts from our site in order to improve the user experience. During these efforts earlier this week, we inadvertently banned some accounts that should not have been. We believe a few hundred accounts were affected. We're very sorry about that. We're in the process of reversing that for those who should not have been affected, and that reversal is expected to be ready to be rolled out sometime middle of next week or possibly earlier. We've made some changes so that this doesn't happen again and thanks for your patience while we fix this.

If you're an innocent user, then again, our apologies and I hope you'll forgive us when this is all over. If you're an actual botter, we're not done with you yet. smile

Update 3/19:
All of the "March 10th unintentionally banned" accounts have now been unbanned so if you were affected, you should once again have access to your account. Again, sorry if you were caught up in this anti-botting action and we have taken measures to avoid this from happening again. Thanks for your patience.

You have a great site here and i understand it must be very difficult to keep it secure and fair for every user.

Thanks eaTaiaG. 1) For admitting there was an error in the first place and 2) for acting so quickly on it.

I for one hate botters with a vengeance ( you can find an email I sent Gaia about a month ago regarding the botters in Junk even eaTaiaG ) but was quite shocked when a friend was banned on March 10. This mate is so virtuous he'd make the Pope blush...

So thanks again. I'll be sure to let him know that this is being looked at and actioned and he and his family may be back in the Gaia community as soon as they are able.

I happy for all of you that were banned for botting, congratulations, thats a great result, but it still doesn't help all of us that were banned a few hours earlier, for password scamming or being hacked.
