For once, Sirati was doing the unthinkable: she was following her parents wishes. It was exceedingly unlike her to do any such thing, as she loved to explore and wander. However, after her . . . incident with that other female in the Rogue Lands, and Sira's extensive injuries, her parents had insisted on some down time. She was recovering well, but had to move slowly so as not to tear open the healing scars. So, Sirati was staying home and moving about slowly.

It was agony. She paced, gently and restlessly around her home land, not daring to stray too far. Sira didn't want to and couldn't admit how scared she was that she would get attacked again. She hid it behind her usual bravado, but that incident had really shaken her. Because of the lovely weather, Sirati eventually decided that a nap in the sun on her favorite rock might do her some good. With a sigh of relief at the plan, she made her way slowly to the river area, where her rock was located.

It wasn't until she got to the spot that she realized she wasn't alone. Her heart skipped a beat before she recognized the lion as one of her own family, her brother. With a small smile she made her way over to him to see what he was up to.

Laying beside the river's edge was none other than the mostly white male that was Sirati's sibling The only boy of that particular litter. A solemn expression was painted across his face as he gazed down at the water's surface. At his reflection. His jade colored eyes traveled across his reflection's face studying it rather intently, as it if would show him the flaw that leaked out only a few days ago. The flaw he hated to think about but couldn't stop doing so. The flaw that made him attack, well after her provoking, his mostly red sister.

Finding no answer he slashed rather angrily at the water, brows knitting together into a scowl. Taking a few deeps breath he forced himself to keep calm, to not let anger of any sort get the better of him, even if it was calm anger, like it had been with Sith. He wasn't going to let it happen again, not if he could help it. Little did he know that it was not something he could control. It was out of his paws so to speak.

Ears flickered at the sound of grass being crushed beneath another's paw. Instantly his body tensed up and he slowly turned his head only to see one of his sister. Biting down on his lip he resisted the urge to spring to his feet and bolt. Which had been what he had been doing lately, avoiding everyone directly related to him, mostly his parents and siblings. The reason? Simple. He was ashamed of himself. He was ashamed and didn't want to confront anyone about it.

However when he saw how much her face lit up his heart practically melted and he remained where he was.

Sirati could tell from her brother's expression and posture that he was feeling troubled. She could read others well when she tried, especially when it was her family. Obviously something was really bothering him. Sira had been rather out of the loop with her siblings because of all her exploring and then because of the time she needed for recovery. She realized with sadness that she hadn't had a good conversation with her favorite brother in a long time. With a sheepish but gentle grin she walked over to him and sat just far enough away to give him his space, but close enough that her presence might give him some comfort.

Sira could tell that asking him what the matter was would only make things worse, so she attempted to pick a subject that was neutral and easy to talk about. Of course, her creativity failed her and she chose the most obvious.

"It's a nice day, isn't it. You really have a nice little spot here, brother. My favorite is down the bank a little bit. A nice tree and smooth rock to sun on. Very pleasant." She really didn't want to distress him in any way so she didn't push the subject and decided to wait and let him speak as he wished. She could still enjoy the sun and his presence.

Although Kabili saw his sister he didn't really. Although his gaze was fixed upon her it was actually seeing past her and not her really. He was spacing so when she spoke and caught part of his attention he nodded. "Um...yeah, sure..." He mumbled in response gaze drifting from her and to the water before he slapped the surface with his white paw absent-mindedly not thinking about it. "Oh...this isn't my spot Sis. I just sat down randomly to think, as far from the forest as possible." He confided to the other not too far away.

The young male glanced toward his sister brows instantly furrowing when he saw the scars that littered her body. How could he not have noticed? He knew that he hadn't been around his family very often and rarely say Sirati when he did but just a few minutes ago he had been staring right at her and had not noticed! How could he have not noticed?!

"Sirati. Who gave you those scars?" Kabili questioned his tone extremely dark compared to the one he spoke in only seconds ago.

Sirati blinked at her brother's quick change in tone and in subject. In surprise, she glanced down at her own body and stared at the scars. She tried not to think about them too much, as the memory of that fight was not pleasant, but still, her brother deserved to know. Sira could tell by his tone though that giving him something else to be angry about was not a good idea, so she attempted to pass it off as lightly as she could.

She didn't do the best job of it though.

"Oh these? Well, I ran into another lioness and I guess she mistook me as someone else or thought that I was a threat. I don't think she meant to leave this many marks," she joked, though she couldn't help the bitter tone that crept into her voice. She knew very well that the lioness had meant to hurt her and would have done a lot more if Sira hadn't managed to chase her off. She'd been very lucky.

"They don't look like she didn't mean to hurt you." Kabili stated pushing down on the grass moving to stand. Once on his feet he trotted lightly over to get a better look at the scars that decorated her form. His teeth clenched together and he suppressed the growl that threatened to roll out of his maw. "Tell me the truth. What happened." He instructed. He wanted to know what had happened and he was going to know damnit! "Please..." He added his tone growing softer.

The truth of the matter was even though it wasn't his fault he couldn't help but feel guilty. If he hadn't been so distant...if he hadn't avoided everyone he might have been there to protect him. He couldn't help but feel that it was his fault that his sweet sister had gotten hurt because of him. "I'm sorry Sirati...I'm so sorry..." He practically whimpered hunching over and letting his gaze fall from her features to the grass beneath them. "I've been a horrible brother...I...I didn't even know you had gotten hurt until today!"

Kabili couldn't help but feel awful, he had been so wrapped up in his own worries and sorrow that he completely ignored his family and his sister had gotten hurt! He hadn't even known until the wounds had healed into scars. "I'm so sorry...."
