Talk about the anime conventions you've been to, costumes, who you've cosplayed etc. If you choose to recommend a convention I will quote you and put you in the Recommendations post(s).

Recommended Cons:Ohayocon is fairly big and friendly for all ages. Their events are very diverse and they even have a lolita tea party (name vaires). Ohayocon Web SiteI go to AnimeIowa (since I live in davenport, IA; it's the closest one to us) and this will be my third year going ^_^ I always have a blast, and it is all ages friendly. Recommended by Nyxofnight5

I go to AnimeIowa (since I live in davenport, IA; it's the closest one to us) and this will be my third year going ^_^ I always have a blast, and it is all ages friendly. So far, I've cosplayed Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo!, female gaara, and a lolita catgirl. This year I plan on cosplaying as female gaara again, and Misa from Deathnote.

Oh, Anime Expo. How I would LOVE to go...
But it's not lack of money. It's lack of time off from work.
...Going to Comic-Con this year and then to PAX. If it wasn't for the required of taking the whole week off on the last week of August, I would so go to AX...but alas, due to Job rules; you either take the whole last business week off or you do not get any days off.

Four extra days off is good. I guess that Friday would be the most important day for you to be there. Government jobs are weird. Oh well at least government jobs are usually secure.
