Welcome to the ******** world mate. Skateboarding has become a fad along with this so called "punk" that the mainstream music has infected on us. You dont like it? Go out and do something about it, its the only way things will change.

i agree w/ obNOXIOUS 1.
Besides, there will always be some sort of genre that gets confused with punk. In the 80s, the mainstream thought New Wave was punk. Now it's powerpop...
it's best just to get over it or start your own ******** band.

I honestly think the only way to fix it is to get real punk back into the mainstream. If we dont let it it cant be marketed, if we say something then they will know you cant market rebellion. I dont know Im more pissed about the so call "tru punx" bitching and doing nothing than I am about the "punk" in the mainstream...but Im still pissed about both....Im gonna shut up now sweatdrop

there's always relentless touring, recording, alternative ways of promotion(other than TV), etc.
idk if that could get punk back into the mainstream, though.

Thats the thing, you do it yourself. One of the biggest aspects of punk is DIY right? If you own your own music and sign with a more mainstream indie lable like Epitaph then you can go mainstream, think Rancid, and NOFX IS mainstream, but they dont alow there music on the radio or with MTV. The whole point is to use the mainstream instead of letting it use you. Its just the way I see it I guess. Its better to do something about it then b***h and do nothing.

Personally I don't want punk in the mainstream. The message would change due to the pressures, free speech would be stifled. I think the best thing to do to those kids is to ******** up their clothes. Or their face, both work. Just make sure they know they're ******** phonies, there's not much else to do.

I'm not worried about bands that are actually with at least part of the punk lifestyle. It's the fact that if punk were mainstream then there would be more punk bands that were made to cater to MTV and such, think 40 or 50 Blink 182s or Yellowcards or Fall Out Boys, and think thousands of people thinking they're punk because they listen to them. There's not enough violence to go around to that many people!

Thats what Im saying mate. The whole point is to get TRUE punk in the mainstream, and stop it from marketing it. If we keep it DIY they cant exploit us. If the true punk bands that go into the mainstream tell the people that the s**t like Blink 182 isnt punk rock then they will know what punk is. The whole point is to bring true punk back and stop the bullshit that there calling punk. Will there be posers? Yes, but there are posers now anyway, whats the difference, at least that Simple Plan Good Charolotte bollocks wont be around anymore. Once again personal oppinion. I mean s**t, arnt you getting tired of preaching to the converted? Isnt one of the points of punk to change and stop something we hate? How can we change anything if were just saying the things to people who already know? I dont know its just what I think, Ill shut up now.

I have a shitload of Roxy shirts, because I got them for about 3-5 dollars each at Ross and they're comftrable. honestly, I just wish I could walk around naked cause clothes suck. so do shoes. You can never really judge what people do or like just by looking at them. They way I dress, everyone thinks I listen to hip hop and classical music. I do, but rarely. Also, my guiness sandals going along with even my extremly nice outfits are sexy and I do like guiness. I do occasinal bmx, but that's a different story.
