Well this is a much better thread than my last because we can actually disscuss this and it more fun ! xd As for right now I'de have to say steel just because I love Scizor! but i'll have to think about it for a bit and see all of your answers.
BTW, OTHER includes:Ground, Bug, Poison, Fighting, Dragon, Psychic, Dark, and Ghost.
One more thing, don't just say " FIRE w00t!" give some sort of reason.

You are right it isnt a GOOD reason, Scizor and Steelix are both good,and I like the steel moves, cuz most of them are very powerfull. Plus I said just for now i would have to say steel and probably change as people vote.

If it wasn't for the fact that Sableye is weak, he'd be my favorite pokemon, but my favorite type is fire cause they can learn many types of moves.

One thing I really hate about Ruby Sapphire and Emerald. The starters only learn 2 moves of their type. stare (Treecko Absorb, Grovyle or Sceptile Leaf Blade, etc etc get a guide! scream xd )
