Chione's sharp black eyes gazed across the hot desert sands, looking for any movement. Apophis , her companion, was curled up by her side on the giant rock that they were on. His eyes were closed but Chione knew that he was awake. "You Sunbathe far too much. I thought that Snakes liked dark, cool places?" Her only reply was a quite hiss.
Chione's feathers ruffled slightly, as her eyes came upon a dark spot traveling slowly across the sand near their rock.
