((Reposting my kickoff post since I never ended up using it. ninja ))
A lone figure stumbled a bit out of the train, surrounded by the odd passenger or person toting cargo. He seemed to be pretty out of it, blinking hazy eyes at the world before stifling a large yawn behind a hand. So this was the dome he'd heard about, a headquarters, a safehaven, a home.
Raking a tanned hand through unruly looking toffee locks, the young man shoved his remaining hand into a pocket on his baggy cargos and swiveled his head a bit, beginning to walk in the direction of the most buildings.
That's what most of the humans saw, anyway.
Rio had long since gotten used to hiding himself in human guise, though he wasn't really much better than the next wolf. The adolescent grinned a bit at a particular scent.
The young wolf had been walking in disquise for ten minutes already, seeing a lot of different people here and there, some wolves, some humans, and most just going about normal life, probably not making note of the new faces. If the train came through semi-regularly, bringing in new faces and taking away old, then Rio's arrival sure wasn't anything special.
Ducking into an alley to lean on the wall and watch the going-ons of the place he was going to reside in (he hoped, and supposed).
The train had been loaded with rations, and he could easily detect the direction most of them were going.
~Man, I hope I'll manage to fit in here.~

Tariel had reunited with her mother and brother and they were heading out of the station. Tariel was dragging her feet and so a few paces behind the other two. Looking about her se saw a teenager in an ally. He was different and a little enchanting... She didn't remember anyone with that particular shade of skin before... She slowed even more as she watched him.
As she slowed her mother and brother simply continued on ahead. The had got what they came for and were going home. They weren't paying a whole lot of attention to whether or not Tariel was still with them... as usual.

A short statured girl ducked down into the crowd from a side street, doing her best to blend in with those around her. Even after a few days the station was busy...but it didn't come often, she supposed, so it must make sense. Wrinkling her nose, she swallowed a grimace. They all smelled so horribly. Stuffing her hands within her coat pockets, she bent her head slightly, her black and gold hair falling over her emerald colored eyes. She just had to get on the train without being noticed...hopefully it would be easier then it had been getting off.

~Mmm, where are you going with that ham, mister?~ Rio's eyes hungrily followed some unseen target, moving by scent until it faded too far for even him to continue to track. He sighed and straightened up from leaning against the wall. One thing was obvious, he'd not be getting any meals that way.
The young wolf was just about to step out into the street again when he noticed the girl across the way, staring him down it seemed. Rio paused in his step and blinked at her. She was human, not like him, but she still caught his intrest anyway, and his sudden caution, but no. She couldn't see through his illusion, he was pretty sure. He didn't know which humans might be alright in this town and which ones weren't.
He didn't decide to chance it, breaking the eye contact and leaving the alley, JUST as a flash of gold and black crossed his lower line of vision. "Whoah!"
Abruptly he squeaked to a hault, avoiding a collision only by stepping back in quick surprise. He stared down at the younger wolf before him, and offered a lopsided sheepish expression. "Sorry little chika, I almost didn't see you there." ^_^;;
((*wishes she could drag Tariel over, >w< she's so cute!! Both of them are! XD *hugs both*))

Tariel had almost come to a stop as she watched Rio. The people around her had started to push past her a little annoyed. What was this person doing stading around in the way? Well, that was too bad for them because she wasn't moving very fast any time soon. Then the boy looked up at her. They stared at each other for a while. She wanted to talk to him but was a little scared. When he looked away, so she did she.
Tariel then moved out of everyone's way for the time being. She decided to go stand over by the bench she had sat on for a little when she had first arrived at the station. When she looked over the crowd it took her but a moment to find the boy she had just seen. He had stopped now. Maybe he ran into someone? Someone he knew? Eh... she couldn't tell but wanted to know. Then she saw the hair of the other person. The colors were familiar... but what from. Her brain wasn't working correctly right then she guessed.

Nina paused for a moment, her ears catching a voice beside her. She had not noticed how close she had been to being run into by a stranger. Lifting her head slightly, she turned to narrow her eyes and give him a glare. He was taller then her...well most were, but this didn't stop her from showing her irratation. Opening her mouth, she began, "Why don't you watching where you're going, you-" She stopped, blinking for a moment.
He smelled different. He wasn't human...he was like her. She felt her ears pull forward and her tail flicker to the side in sudden excitement, of which non of the humans could see. Grinning a little, she changed her ton entirely from scorn to polite curiousity, "Hey...what are you doing here...? Someone told me there weren't any more of...well...us in the area."

Rio almost laughed, mildly surprised by the quick turnaround of attitude but not bothered. Seems like he might just make a friend after all. She was younger yet, but age hardly meant anything. She seemed to be wandering alone, also, because he didn't notice any other wolves in the immediate or distant area.
"I'm new in town." He winked, fanning his own tail with a lazy, friendly sway. His eyes darted back quietly towards where Tariel had been only to find her gone already. Had she left the area? No... he could still smell her, he thought. Hers was one of the few scents not moving. He quickly diverted brown eyes back to Nina again, though, not wanting her to feel ignored. "So who told you that? Does that mean that we're the only two in this city?"
He sounded curious, as though her answer might or might not leave him disappointed. He'd come all this way looking for a refuge, was it for nothing? Well, he supposed not, even if there weren't any other wolves in the city he'd rather be among people that could possibly be trusted than to be on his own. He hated being utterly alone, traveling to reach the train, which he had to take to get here, had been the most unnerving experience ever in his young life.
((Sorry El, @ @; will try to get you more directly involved if Tariel doesn't xD; ))

Nina's illusion form gave a grimace, her brows furrowing in indignation. She wished they were the only two wolves in this place...at least if it meant that other pup wouldn't be here. She was still fuming at the thought of him...him and how he had defended that stupid human. Ugg, how horrible. At least the one before her seemed better.
"Well, no there is another, though he's far from worth mentioning," she told him dryingly, the bitterness in her voice not directed at him. Looking back at him she gave a small grin again, tilting her head to the side, "Why'd you come to this town anyway...? I got dropped off by mistake..."

As Tariel watched it slowly sank in that the person the boy was talking to was almost without a doubt that wolf-girl from before. Tariel still wanted to try to be friends but the other girl seemed to really hate her, not to mention most if not all humans. This was a very odd coincidence....
She was far enough away that it was still reasonably hard to see an impossible to hear the two, the other girl looked almost happy? If she hated humans then this guy was most likely a wolf... but there was always that small chance that this was a human she knew from somehwere else and actually got along with... but that didn't quite make sense. Tariel brain was working rather fast so she thought through all of that before the teenager glanced about.
Was he looking for her? He didn't seem to see her. She thought of sneaking closer. But then again that girl was pretty scary... She slowly slunk off the bench and walked a little closer to the other two. She knew she shouldn't try and eaves-drop or spy but her curiosity was getting the better of her.
