Before reality, before fairytales.... there were myths. Welcome to an alternate universe where myths become realities. The cruelties and kindnesses of the Gods abound and civilization is forever at their mercy.

The setting is modern day; however, magic and magical creatures exist and worship abounds. Although humans themselves cannot use magic, they may be given gifts by the gods or may find favor with magical beasts. However, it is just as often the opposite. Those who are too prideful in their mortal selves often meet destruction by the hand of an outraged God. Those who do not obey the Gods can and will be smited -- that's a given.

In this world, I am not looking for people to play Gods. What I am
looking for, instead, is for people to take myths and adapt them to make a general setting or character. This requires some thinking, I know, and I will be very picky when it comes to what I will and will not take. This will become clearer once I provide some examples [which I will have in my profile]. Also, if you need help adapting a myth, I will be happy to help. The myths are not guidelines for plots -- as I said, they will only help to give you a basic setting for the character or scenario.

With that, here are some refferences--

Greekmythology.com -- this is a brief overview. This is good for a preliminary search and gives you nice little categories. However, it lacks sufficient detail and research.
Desy -- Pretty much the same as the above. It gives a general overview, but I do not find it sufficient for anything more than a preview.
Encyclopedia Mythica -- this site is better. It gives you a much better idea of each character's myth and has some good research, though it is still not very specific. Also, in order to use this site properly you should go in already knowing generally what god(s)/etc. you are most interested in. Otherwise, it will be impossible for you to find anything unless you intend upon reading everything.
Theoi-- of these sites, this is my favorite. It provides extensive research into the different characters of Greek mythology. It is well-organized and can be easily used even if you do not have a clear idea of who/what you would like to use.

I advise to use a combination of these sites. First, I would go to either greekmythology.com or desy to get a basic overview, then to Encyclopedia Mythica for a little more detail (though not a lot). Lastly, once you've squared down exactly who you'd like to use, use Theoi. Although I am not mandating extensive research, I will be researching whatever myth you send me and I would very much appreciate if you did the same. Though I understand that not everyone shares my obsession, I would like you to put some thought into this. If I research your myth and find that you are way off base, I will be rightly pissed so, please, at the very least read the myth you are concerned with.

[as a note, I will allow certain people to play Gods, but only if I deeply trust not only their skills, but their research. Also, it is okay for anyone to play a nymph or some other basic creature.]

Basic Setting

The RP will take place primarily in Mythe Academy, which is an escalator school from kindergarten to college and which offers optional on campus dorm housing, and the fictional city of Mythe.

The dorms--
Elementary level [k through fifth grade]: the Yellow Dorm [six floors; fifteen rooms per floor]
Junior high level [sixth through eigth grade]: the Green Dorm [ten floors; fifteen rooms per floor]
High school level [ninth through twelfth]: the Blue and Red Dorms [ten floors each; fifteen rooms per floor]
College level [those last four years!]: the Black, White and Gray Dorms [ten floors each; fifteen rooms per floor]

Dormies--

Some Basics for Those Who Need Them

The Gods-- [ones with bold are the most dominant in Greek mythology; other Gods may be important but do not necessarily appear very often and therefor do not play as much of an active roll] [also, not all of these are inhabitants of Olympus]

The father of the majority of the gods/goddesses is Cronus. His wife is Gaea, mother of the earth. (for more information, read the creation myth)

Zeus is the ruler of Olympus, home of the Gods. He is lord of the sky and controls the weather. Thunder and Lightning are his primary weapons. Zeus is married to Hera. However, Zeus has many affairs (family ties and race are of no matter; he has had children with nymphs, humans, his sisters and daughters). He is a god of mercy, protector of the weak and punisher of the wicked.

Hera is Zeus' sister and the goddess of marriage. She is also Zeus' wife. She is exceptionally possessive and jealous and always strives to smite Zeus' many lovers and their children. Her fruit is the pomegranate. She is also the goddess of fertility.

Hades (Pluto) is god of Erebus (the underworld, also sometimes called Hades) and brother to Zeus. He rules over the dead. His wife is Persephone. He is also the god of wealth. (although Hades is the god of the dead, he is not to be confused with the god of death, Thanatos)

Demeter (also called Ceres) is Zeus' sister and is goddess of the harvest and fertility. She is also Persephone's mother. She is exceptionally protective of her daughter, who is thought of by many as being one of the most beautiful of the Olympians (perhaps even the most beautiful, though no one will admit that in front of Aphrodite). Every time Persephone descends into Erebus, Demeter grieves and refuses to let things grow (a.k.a. winter).

Persephone is the goddess of spring and is the daughter of Demeter by Zeus. She is also the goddess of the underworld and wife of Zeus. She represents life and death because she spend the fertile season in the open air with her mother and then descends into the underworld, bringing winter. Persephone is the mother of Zagreus/Dionysus, Melinoe and the Erinyes (also called the Furies).

Poseidon is the god of the sea and brother to Zeus (and many others). He protects the sea. His weapon is the trident. He also created the horse.

Hestia is the goddess of the Hearth, representative of the house a newborn child enters. She is a sister to Zeus.

********* is the goddess of youth. She is the daughter of Zeus and Hera. Her husband is Hercules.

Aris (also Ares) is the god of war and the son of Zeus and Hera. He is generally disliked, even by his parents. He is seen as bloodthirsty but also a coward.

Athena is the goddess of intelligence, reason and the arts. She was born out of Zeus' forehead and therefor has no mother. She is the goddess of the city and of agriculture. She embodies wisdom and purity and is Zeus' favorite child.

Apollo (also called Helios) is the god of the son and is son to Zeus and Leto. His twin sister is Artemis. He is the god of music, truth, medicine, and light. His most important task is to guide the chariot of the sun across the sky every day (though he occasionally forgoes this task to go on the hunt, at which time we have an overcast day). He is famous for his divinations of the future.

Artemis (also called Diana) is the goddess of chastity, virginity, the hunt, the natural environment and the moon. She is the daughter of Zeus and Leto and Apollo is her twin brother. She is the lady of wild things and protector of the young.

Aphrodite is the goddess of love, beauty and desire (often called the goddess of lust). She is the daughter of Zeus and Dione. She represents sex and affection and physical attraction. Her husband is Hephaestus but her favorite lover is Ares.

Hephaestus is the son of Hera, but has no father. Out of jealousy and spite, Hera made her own attempt at making a child with no father and bore Hephaestus from the earth. He is the only Greek god to be physically ugly and he is also lame. He is the god of the fire and the forge and is the best smith. Though Hera flung him from Olympus because of her vast disappointment in his appearance, he was ultimately found to be one of the most useful of the gods. He is kind and peace-loving, but was angered by this. In order to get him to work for them, the Olympians gave him Aphrodite as wife.

Hermes is the messenger of the gods. He is the son of Zeus and Maia. He is the fastest of the gods and is also the god of thieves and of commerce. He guides dead souls to Erebus.

Dionysus is the god of fertility and wine. He is a patron to the arts and son of Persephone and Zeus. He was originally called Zagreus, but was killed by Hera out of spite and was resurrected as Dionysus. He is a fun-loving god and is responsible for Midas' golden touch.

Eros is the son of Aphrodite and is the god of romatic, often erotic love. He is often depicted as being blindfolded because "love is blind."

Eris is the goddess of discord and is daughter to Hera and Zeus. Eris is not well-liked by the other gods and their snubbing of her is indirectly responsible for the Trojan War.

Thanatos is the god of death.

Pan is the god of flocks and shepherds. He is merry and plays the pipe and is the favorite musician of the wood nymphs. He has a mostly human appearance, but has the horns and legs and hooves of a goat. He is always in pursuit of one nymph or another but is always rejected because of his ugliness.

Nemesis is the goddess of righteous anger vengeance. She helps to avenge those who have been wronged.

The Graces are daughters of Zeus and Eurynome. The three of them are Aglaia (Splendor), Euphrosyne (Mirth), and Thalia (Good Cheer).

The Muses are daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne. The nine of them are Clio (History), Urania (Astronomy), Melpomene (Tragedy), Thalia (Comedy), Terpsichore (Dance), Calliope (Epic Poetry), Erato (Love Poetry), Polyhymnia (Songs to the Gods), and Euterpe (Lyrics Poetry).

The Erinnyes (Furies) are punishers of crime. They are the daughters of Persephone and Hades. They relentlessly pursue wrongdoers until death and often drive them to suicide. They dwell in Erebus. In some versions, there are three of them, in others there are five or seven. (in the case of three, they are Tisiphone, Magaera, and Alecto)

The Fates assign a man to good or evil and also decide his lifespan. Clotho (the spinner) spins the thread of life, Lachesis (the measurer) choses the lot in life and decides the lifespan and Atropos cuts the thread of life.

Accepted Profiles

Mint Thimble
Gaia Name: Mint Thimble
Character Name: Noah Rein
Original Myth: Narcissus
Race: human
Gender: male
Age: sixteen
Orientation: bi
Position: switch
Picture: none yet
Appearance: Noah is excessively beautiful and is often mistaken for a girl. His skin is the palest and most perfect ivory, with neither freckle nor scar. His hair is a darkest ebony and falls to frame his head in short curls and waves. His eyes are a bright blue-green. He stands at about 5'8" and is lean, though not without some muscle. His form is soft and supple and too appealing to do him much good.
Personality: Noah is excessively self-absorbed. He is obsessed with appearances and looks down upon anyone who cannot equal his looks -- and, in his mind, no one equals him in looks. He is condescending and has never had to hide it because, often enough, people are so awed by his beauty that he never has to act nice. He lacks passion and love for anything save himself, though he does often play around with his many admirers.
Likenesses to Original Myth: His personality is basically entirely like that of Narcissus.
History: Noah was born to a wealthy family. He has never had to lift a finger to do anything, which is evident by the way he acts. He is excessively spoiled but also incredibly lonely because he never really lets anyone get close to himself. He grew up with servants and suitors instead of friends.
Family: His father a deceased mother. He has a step-mother, but after the shock of his mother's death his father became impotent so Noah has no siblings.
Other: Noah is excessively popular, despite his attitude.

TableTopWatch
Gaia Name: TABLETOPWATCH
Character Name: Tim Greenfoot
Original Myth: not exactly a myth, just a mythical creature, but I'll just say he's closest to Pan and his satyr underlings
Race: 1/4 satyr, 3/4 human
Gender: male
Age: 21 (in human years)
Orientation: gender isn't much of an issue to Timothy-bo-bithomy-bo-nana-fanna-fo-fimothy, so I guess he'd go either way
Position: Probably seme but who knows for sure (he certainly doesn't)?
Picture: X I'll edit with a more accurate picture eventually.
Appearance: Tim has somewhat scraggly, brown-red hair that flares out at the edges. He has bright brown eyes and a dusting of freckles on his cheeks and the bridge of his nose as well as on his shoulders and other various areas. wink Although he's not overly muscular, he's not lanky by any means or even lean. Because Tim is only 1/4 satyr he looks more human than anything else, he does have two small, sandy colored horns on either side of his head, pointed elvish ears, and a small, brown and black splotched goat tail (as opposed to the traditional Greek horse tail, wtf were they thinking?) though. Overall, I would describe him as...shaggy and unkempt. He often wears clothes are too big and also is commonly found with a twig, or a feather, or a leaf stuck in his hair.
Personality: Relatively laid back and something of a goof. Tim doesn't get into very many spats unless whatever he's debating is very important to him, or possibly if one of his friends is being harassed or something of that nature.
Likenesses to Original Myth: Practically none, since Pan is supposed to be something of a lecher/epitome of nastiness, however Tim can be rather mischievous as was Pan. He's not really all that similar to the original versions of the satyrs either who were mainly obsessed with pleasurable drink and company and pretty much noting else. :< Tim does enjoy a wheaty beer every so often though.
History: Because he's not quite human and yet not quite satyr, Tim has never had too many friends of either races. He moved out of the house when he was young to find a better community and quite literally stumbled upon a small clan of centaurs which he's lived with ever since. He keeps in touch with his parents but rarely goes back to their house.
Family: Although he does have parents Tim rarely visits them. He still loves his family but is more comfortable with the centaurs he's been living with for years. His best friend is a centaur named Senchiri (or Sen for short).

Character Name: Senchiri, or Sen for short
Original Myth: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiron
Race: centaur
Gender: male
Age: 19
Orientation: gaygaygay
Position: seke
Picture: ---> will update asap
Appearance: Sen has long, thick dark gray hair with some streaks of white which he usually keeps in a braid or a pony tail (>w<). His eyes are a silvery blue and he's often mistaken for being blind because his eyes look so cloudy but he's not. Sen has pale skin and his bottom half is very similar to a dappled gray horse. He usually doesn't wear much unless he's cold but he always wears a silver wing pendant around his neck.
Personality: He fairly sweet and considerate but has something of a self esteem issue. There are several tribes of centaurs, his own being an offshoot of a larger tribe and Sen happens to be very jealous of one of the other tribes, which are similar to centaurs like himself but derive from Pegasuses thus they have wings.
Likenesses to Original Myth: Chiron was a kind centaur that specialized in healing and educating. Although Sen would probably be too self-conscious to tutoring, he is very smart and can whip up first-aide like nobody's business!
Family: He lives with his tribe and Tim, who is his best friend.

lycanthropic_tendencies
Gaia Name: lycanthropic_tendencies
Character Name: Phoenix Donothan.
Original Myth: The Thyiades. X3 Here and Here. Yes, I realize that the Thyiades are female, but... why not? Haha.
Race: Nymph.
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Orientation: Bi. He's not exactly picky.
Position: Seke. Again, not picky where he gets it as long as he does.
Picture: <.< Allen Walker says Hi?
Appearance: Not quite towering at five foot seven inches, Phoenix is a slender kid with not too broad shoulders. He's mediocre in his body structure, not too much muscle, and very little fat. His white blonde hair just reaches the tip of his fair chin. The hair proves to hide the elfin-nymph ears he got from his mother, though does little to hide his cute pointed nose. His eyes burn red like fire, which makes him look albino, though his skin is not quite that pale, nor does he come with any of the other side effects of being albino--his eyesight is perfectly fine. From his collar bone down to his pelvic bone, he has tatoos declaring his loyalty to Dionysus and to himself both in Ancient Greek, Kanji, and English. He doesn't have a six-pack in that area yet, but his athleticism in the bedroom gave him a bit of muscle definition. Aside from all the punk gear he tends to wear, Phoenix appears graceful and debonair, even in his slouched and lax posture.
Personality: Crude and sometimes a bit vulgar, Phoenix is no stranger to the "less sophisticated" side of life. He's a bit whorish and his hormones often get out of control--more often than not getting him in trouble--but he's a good kid at heart. He's a bit shallow, but his mother is fairly sure that he'll grow into liking some amount of depth in his lovers someday. He's fiercely loyal to those he considers his friends, if only to spite his enemies. He tends to be very selective when choosing who to and not to associate with. Others may see this as arrogant and elitist of him, but he's just taking in the reality. He gets along with certain types of people far better than others, and those that aren't within those parameters often get perturbed by his whorish and stubborn behavior. He's not entirely fond of most superiors, but will often find one upperclassmen or teacher he'll really take a liking to and will often act sycophantic towards him or her. But to other authority figures, he's quite the punk.
Likenesses to Original Myth: He's orgiastic and fiercely loyal to the "Dionysus" figure in his life. He respects and loves that Dionysus figure, but like most nymphs, plays with the humans he considers "beneath him."
History: For all of his life, Phoenix has lived in the suburbia near Las Vegas. Supposedly, it was supposed to protect him from the inner city life, while granting his parents access to their debauchery. However, since his parents were out so much, he learned that suburbia had its own interesting underground life to. So by the time he was 14, he'd done heroin, girls, xtc, guys, purple, other nymphs, alcohol, and while drunk, he might've done a centaur. He did fairly well in school (mostly B's and a couple A's) and the only thing his teachers commented on was his tendency to be vulgar and a bit insubordinate, but nothing really extreme. However, his parents found a stash of ecstasy in his room somewhere along with stacks of condoms and lube. That's when his parents decided to move him to Mythe.
Family: HIs mother's a professional dominatrix, his father's a drunken novelist, and three sisters. Jay (17) just wants to get out of Vegas to live a normal life; Shelley (14) is a scene kid; and Genevieve (10) just wants to be left alone.
Other: He's a strict vegetarian.

elliot girl
Gaia Name: elliot girl
Character Name: Teal Woods
Original Myth: Medusa
Race: Gorgon
Gender: male
Age: seventeen
Orientation: bi
Position: switch
Picture: [Teal]
Appearance: Teal has [you guessed it] teal eyes. He stands at about 5'8". He is lean and fit, but not overly muscular. He has a classic bone structure and skin that clings to those bones, so they protrude a little (though attractively so). He is very thin and has rather angular features. Teal's hair is a darkest ebony black and completely unruly and curly. His hair is very reminiscent of the serpents of his mother's hair. Teal has abnormally long eyelashes and because they are black, they stand out. Because of his protruding bones and their classic structure, he gives of an air of delicacy that completely does not match his personality. Though the majority of the time Teal seems completely human, his mother's blood can sometimes show through by the sudden addition of scales or wings to his body or the way his eyes sometimes turn a bright, piercing ice blue that threatens to freeze others in their tracks.
Personality: Teal is a bit of a wild child. He acts on instinct and is very animalistic. He's a bit like a wild cat. He is very impulsive and straight-forward and his emotions change very easily and rapidly.
Likenesses to Original Myth: He is a Gorgon and also Medusa and Poseidon's son.
History: Before the battle with Perseus, Medusa had an affair with Poseidon. When, nine months later, Teal was born Athena was enraged and cursed Medusa into becoming truly monstrous, whereas before she had only had strange powers and been a different race. Shortly after, Perseus slew Medusa, leaving Teal to be raised by hundreds of "aunts" -- or, more correctly, the nymphs under Poseidon's domain.
Family: Medusa is his mother and Poseidon is his father. His father is alive in the sea, but his mother is dead. He has no real siblings, though he has many half-siblings. He finds his main "family" in the nymphs and other beings of the sea.
Other: Teal has many powers, which will be revealed through play. His monstrous features only show when he is feeling an intense emotion (usually anger).

It was midday. The sun was shining down upon all below it, basking the city with life. In other words, it was hot. Those left to toil too long under the baking sun soon found themselves sweating. Noah, however, was not one of these. Always expecting (and getting) the best of things, the ebony-haired youth had abandoned classes for that day. They were such a bore and it wasn't as if he needed them, anyway, as he was much smarter than any of those twerps in class.... Noah had bypassed any sort of work that might have been laid upon him and was, instead, lounging in a reclining chair inside the line of shadow on the wooded area of the school's premises. The trees provided a nice shade and so long as he wasn't under the sun, it wasn't actually hot. Besides, the breeze was nice and, out here, he wouldn't be bothered by all those meddlesome admirers -- at least, for the most part, though there were always the more persistent ones.... Well, whatever, if one came by he could simply have him refill his lemonade pitcher. It was getting dangerously low, after all.

The chair that Noah was currently lounging on had been provided by an admirer, as well. In fact, the boy had gotten it from one of the teachers -- one ballsy enough, it seemed, to steal the lounger from the faculty room. It was a pretty good chair... not quite the quality that Noah was used to, but good enough considering that it had been provided by a lesser form. Then again, to Noah, everyone save himself was a lower being. Of course, some lower beings were worse than others... but there was no one who could ever equal himself -- there never had been and there never would be.

The teen sighed and stretched back, one pale hand reaching over to the table beside himself to grasp the handle of an incredibly well-polished and beautiful hand mirror. He held it up to his face, cerulean eyes gazing lovingly at his reflection. That perfect pale skin, the delicate flush of rose on his cheeks... those perfectly formed and cherry-red lips.... The way his brows arched slightly in such a delicate curve.... the shape of his eyes, which were, as always, breath-taking.... The way his hair fell to frame all those features and the slightly androgynous quality that was at the very heart of the teen's looks -- Noah loved everything about himself. Truly, there could never again be such a wholly perfect being such as he. Why, people should be paying him worship!

Of course, Noah had never been one to question the Gods. He payed them the homage they demanded.... and yet, at the same time, he could never see any God to be nearly so beautiful as himself. Not even Aphrodite, not even Persephone! As far as Noah was concerned, they all paled in his comparison. He was so full of love and adoration for himself that there was no room for anybody else in his heart. Thus he was the eternal narcissist.

[[I thought I would wait a bit for other people to join, buuut, I'm bored and procrastinating.]]

"You know, if anyone was questioning if you were a fruit or not I don't think they will be anymore," the older male commented lightly, pale pinkish lips curved up into a smile.

Sen shrugged a little, biting at his lower lip before he answered, "I don't see why it's such a bad thing." The two usually ate lunch with Sen's tribe before they headed back to class. The centaur was scheduled to give a presentation in his last class of the day and thus had tried to look at least somewhat presentable. The young man usually looked somewhat effeminate what with his slight build and his pale eyes and hair (which was often braided back into some 'girl style' as Tim described it). Because of the presentation, Sen had gone out of his way to add little beads and accessories to his hair. He also had this silver lining around his eyes that Tim said made him look even more girly than usual.

The satyr's expression shifted a little as he picked a leaf out of his hair with a frown. "I mean...It isn't a bad--I just don't want you getting hurt, you know?" It was common knowledge that centaurs were seen as below humans, being half beast as they were and over the years their numbers had dwindled. "That's all," Tim said finally before cupping a hand over his eyes as the two left the shelter of the forest's shade. Glancing over towards his left, the mixed breed blinked several times before looking back at Sen. "You know who that is?" He asked in a whispered tone, wide eyes set on a reclining high schooler. What the was a human doing this far out on the edges of the school's borders?

Silvery blue eyes scrunched up a bit as Sen tried to see just who Tim was referring to... "Hmm, some stupid human that's for sure. Who would come this close to the forest?" He asked, looking back at the older male.

Why Noah, of course, would be one stupid enough to do such a thing. Though he was well-schooled and possessed a great intellect, his practical smarts were terribly lacking. After all, there was simply no way that someone wouldn't be just as in awe of the gorgeous youth as the entirety of his admirers. He was, after all, stunningly radiant and perfect down to the last detail. Naturally, no one could ever even think of harming him, particularly his face. Smiling his charming smile towards his mirror's reflection, one pale hand raised to slowly finger one shining ebony curl of hair. So sleek and beautiful... He was perfect, really, he was.

Noah was so absorbed with himself that he didn't even notice Tim and Sen. Of course, it wasn't as if that was unusual. Likely, if he did notice them he would simply take them for being two more of his admirers. Noah stretched out one slender, pale arm in front of himself, holding out the mirror from a distance so he could examine himself from different angles. Really, he was entirely flawless! He even looked wonderful from farther away. Every angle was perfect and beautiful. Noah sighed happily, managing to look both haughty and contented at the same time.

Phoenix Donothan stared up at the forest trees with a smile on his face and a half-full bottle in his hand. He lay in the forest floor in post-coital reverie, pants barely buttoned, shirt ripped, and hair mussed to the extreme.

The girl had left about five minutes earlier, to prevent any suspicion of their whereabouts. Phoenix smiled wider as he remembered her. She had the most gracious rear end he'd seen since he moved to Mythe, pale and smooth legs that have got to have been graced by Aphrodite, and a voice given to her by the Muses themselves. And she had been moaning his name. Dionysus would be proud if he wasn't so possessive sometimes.

Phoenix sat up and brushed himself off. He was by no means Dionysus' favorite, but that didn't meant that Phoenix didn't have his own perks. Phoenix had potential to become a great Thyiade if he ever chose to dedicate himself to the temple, but he really didn't want the commitment. He'd talked to Dionysus a couple times though in the temple when he'd made a sacrifice, because Dio was quite cool like that. He played with lots of mortals, Phoenix was just one of the many.

Surprisingly, Phoenix buckled his bondage straps and suspenders with ease and clipped bunch of safety pins he had in his pocket to fix the rip on his shirt. He flipped his pale blonde hair to get it just that sexy kind of mussed hair.

He stood up, looked around, and facepalmed. In the heat of his activities, he didn't exactly pay attention to where he was going or where he came from. He sighed, took a swig from his bottle, and began to walk.

Today was a sleepy day, or so Teal had decided. It was just warm enough to dull the senses, giving the air a sort of slow feeling that just made the black-haired boy want to curl up and nap... Which was exactly what he was intending to do -- and, for that very reason, he had decided to ditch the rest of the day's classes and find a good resting spot outside. Teal had never much liked sleeping inside the dorms. Back home, he was always sleeping in or at least near the water and so he never felt right away from it.... When he had first reached Mythe Academy, he had been astonished by the accommodations. Well, he really wasn't used to "normal" things, after all. He had tried filling the bath tub and sleeping in it, but that had only given him a cold. Besides, the entire setting was much too artificial for the little Gorgon. And so, instead, he had taken to sleeping outside -- even that was better than sleeping next to such a terribly false water source.

The air seemed to move in a slow haze before his brightly blue-green eyes. He could see the wind twitch a small feather into life, drifting it along the air with apparent ease and what seemed to be no rush at all. It was such a... lazy day. Teal yawned slowly and stretched, back arching slightly as his arms and legs tensed and then slowly relaxed. Teal was laying out on the grass on the school grounds, just inside a patch of shade in a position that would hide him from a teacher's prying eyes without taking him too far within the forest. It was another group's territory, after all -- Teal could smell it easily. Often, such boundaries were sensitive subjects and perpetrators were never easily forgiven. And so the boy played it safe, though he still made sure to make himself comfortable.

"Ahhh... nice day," he murmured to himself absently, an unfocused smile spreading bemusedly across his lips. It was such a nice, warm day.... The breeze took off the worst of the heat and being in the shade was nice and cooling as well. In other words, it was too nice and too warm out for Teal to be able to at all focus on lessons. The boy knew this and so had given up before even trying. He wasn't even really interested in school, though. He was only there because his aunts had demanded it.... Well, even if he didn't act like it, he was smart enough to get into the school and had transfered easily enough from his own small-town school from his more rural home.

It was just then, as Teal was preparing to close his eyes for a good, long nap that he heard someone coming -- and smelled him, too. He wasn't human, that was for sure.... and he was most definitely male -- that scent was undeniable, what with the way it was just rolling out by the loads. Certain teenage males just seemed to radiate pheromones and this one was particularly bad. Teal wrinkled his nose and frowned, a small line creasing across his forehead. Stupid animal magnetism.... Well, he didn't have any intention of consorting with any land-lopers -- not unless they were something really, really special. Truthfully, Teal had always prefered the wet and the damp. His skin just dried out so easily... and he missed the water. And his aunts.

But this was too difficult to ignore. Teal sat up slowly, nose still wrinkled, a small frown pulling at his lips, his dark brows furrowed above light eyes as he turned his vision to catch sight of this other figure.

((ellie: just a quick question. who do the pheromones belong to? Because given the descriptions of all four other characters, could be any... eheh. <.< --this is how confused and naive i can be at times-- -headdesk-))

Although on any other occasion Tim would pass off the younger, preening, boy's behavior as symptoms of inebriation and leave the kid be, it just didn't seem logical that anyone could be in such a drunk stupor at midday. Because the boy couldn't possibly be drunk, the half breed deduced that he was indeed just stupid. Taking a few long strides, the older male stood warily in front of the teen for a moment or two who hadn't seemed to notice his presence, and certainly not Sen's who was hanging back with a rather annoyed look upon his face.

Plucking the mirror from the teen's grasp, the older of the two leaned forward with a curious look on his face as he inspected the raven-haired kid up close. Twirling the mirror in his hand, Tim took a step back before speaking. "You know, many of the forest dwellers aren't very friendly to students, I'd fix your make up in your dorm next time," he said before shifting the rather elaborately decorated mirror towards his own features, smiling a bit at his reflection before he handed the mirror back.

((@lyc: I think she means Phoenix since she insinuated that Teal could smell what he just did..... xD;; ))

It wasn't exactly that Noah hadn't noticed Tim -- rather, it was more that he simply didn't pay him any mind. The satyr was simply one of many who had come to adore his good looks, to gaze in rapture at the boy who was so beautiful that is was impossible for his looks to be matched. In fact, the ebony-haired male was feeling rather smug with this yet-another-watcher -- after all, it only affirmed his beauty. Still, this being was below him -- as all others were, save the Gods -- and so was not deserving of his thoughts.

But as the mirror was deftly removed from his hands, aqua eyes shot up to send a dazzlingly beautiful look of contempt the other's way. He cared nothing for the forest creatures or their fixations on territory.... After all, they were all too overcome by his marvelous perfection to ever even think of harming him -- or so Noah thought. "But the forest is within school grounds. Besides, no one could ever be so brash as to harm my face. You should know that." And the mirror had been given back to him. As if his face could have changed in this short amount of time, he closely examined his features, raising his empty hand to brush back a small bit of bangs that had fallen across his eyes in an oh-so-marvelous way.

"You really think anyone's gonna care about how you look when you're so close to their territory? Seriously, kid, just be more careful, okay? I'd rather not hear about another student wandering too far from campus and being mauled," the half satyr murmured, raking a hand through scruffy brown hair before he glanced back at Sen for a moment. His younger friend's expression had faded from displeased to outright impatience. Tim knew the centaur had an upcoming presentation in class and was most likely cursing Tim in his mind if he didn't get a move on soon.

"Why're you so far away from campus anyway?" Tim asked, cocking his head a bit before gazing questioningly at Noah.

((eliot & mint: awesomesauce))

There was a girl with light brown streaks
And she was beautiful but she didn't mean a thing to me.
Yeah she was beautiful but she didn't mean a thing to me.

Somewhere along the way, Phoenix had started singing Tiny Vessels by Death Cab for Cutie. Story of his life, thanks, he scoffed. But he didn't really mind. It was funny to see the girls' reactions when he hummed it the next week--whether they knew the song or not.

Somehow, he had meandered over to the more grassy area of the forest--which he was thankful for. He didn't necessarily want to get back to class anymore--not that he wanted to in the first place--but his English teacher was a lenient person. She'd understand. Or she might not. Either way, what's done was done, and Phoenix had done her to exhaustion.

Phoenix smiled at his own little crack, not exactly noticing that little root standing up from that little tree, begging for some animal to become a toy for... or trip.

Down fell the mighty sex nymph onto the forest floor, not for the first time that day. Just this one didn't feel as nice. And there was no girl on top of him attempting to get some cheap love.

And like every inebriated frequent bacchanalian, he didn't really feel like getting back up.
