The rule for upgrading or buying weapons is that if the weapon is specialized for a certain monster fight then you have to fight that monster at least once. This means no dragon weapons without you facing a dragon of that type or crab or ape etc. If your not sure if the weapon is specialized just PM and i will tell you.

1st

Some of the weapon guides may have sharpness etc. The only things you need to be worried about are attack and Zeni.
3rd
To buy a weapon u must buy the first one. You cannot buy one which needs upgrading.
4th Special weapons need quests that i will assign to get them, but you still need the zeni.
5th You cannot upgrade or buy any weapon which is specialized to a monster without facing that monster.
6th Weapons with elements only affect monsters that have that weakness. If they are not weak against it; it does no damage. Unless it is poison. paralysis, or sleep
7th all weapons you do not want sell to me for half of what they are worth
8th any other information you need just post in here and i will update.
