This has been in the works since 2005, only found out about it the other week, not to much is known about it but this is what I did find out:
Brash Entertainment provided today an update on the status of the next SAW videogame.
Set to release in October 2009, in conjunction with the next instalment of the film series, SAW the videogame will give fans of Jigsaw and these films a reason to live. Collaborating closely with Lions Gate and Twisted pictures, the game will have its own unique storyline, while answering questions left unanswered by the SAW films. In an effort to stay true to the movies, Brash is working closely with creators of the SAW franchise, Leigh Whannell and James Wan, ensuring the game pulls no punches, and delivers the horrifying suspense and disbelief that has floored fans worldwide. The SAW game is currently in development for next-gen platforms and will be built using the Unreal 3 game engine.
I did read somewhere that you play a victim, you wake up in a trap, have to get out of it then it becomes a test where you not only have to find out about your own past but all about John’s as well. It ties in very close with the 3rd film, I remember I read that it crosses a lot of lose ends between each film, meaning you will interact with other victims, traps and Jigsaw himself YAY!!!
Now I know the bad wrap most film games have got because they are made so fast to get it out in time with the film but bear in mind that this has been worked on for years and they even have Leigh and James working with them. Now to me this is gonna be a must have for all Saw fans, they are not just doing some quick job, they really are work hard on this one which REALLY is making me look forward to playing it!!!

That's sound awesome!!! I've heard about the game for awhile now and I was woundering who you would play as. The game sound sooo cool!!! I'm so glad that John is tied into the game play mrgreen !!!! I love John heart

I'm so glad that John is tied into the game play mrgreen !!!! I love John heart Yea me to!!!! I think it’s great that with the game we are gonna find out so much more about him that has not been revealed in the films which is one reason that’s making me want to play it badly…hehe. Another thing me and my mate are hoping will be in the game is what happened to Lawrence and me personally am hoping for some more Adam and Art biggrin !!!

I can't wait to play it! Hopefully in the game they should give you have the option to join Jigsaw. Seriously, who wouldn't? ^_^

Seems like a lot of companies are beginning to notice that if you try to make soup too quickly it'll come out salty. I've heard of other games that are adapted from movies that are coming that surprisingly are also being made with that saying in mind. Like they're making a bourne game. They can't really have a deadline. Movie's over.
PS: They're using epic's unreal engine 3 for this game?....... Interesting. confused

Yeah, I've heard about this =D I'm pretty excited for it. Hopefully it'll actually be good, because sometimes video games based off of movies are a bit of a let down. sweatdrop

the truth is that many movie games only have one year to 10 months to be made. thar is why they are all so buggy and have horrible controls. it is near impossible to make a quality product without time. prime examples are X-Men origins wolerine which had 5 years, Chronicles of Riddick escape from butcher bay and dark athena, first ne had three year and the new one had a good 4, and above all what might be the best video game movie game is Spider Man 2 which was in production for 3 years. !!!BONUS!!! the only video game based of a movie based of a game is Street Fighter:the movie:the game. confusing, huh?

its great u play as Detective Tapp from saw 1 because he may of actually survived (maybe sweatdrop ). its just glad to see his face again but in a trap by jigsaw twisted
