I know some of you are coming to Gaia new and joining us here, so I thought I'd open a thread in case you guys have questions about how things work, where things are, or what kind of stuff you can do here. I've been on Gaia off and on for about three years, so I have some knowledge, although I certainly don't know everything. But if you post it here there's a better chance someone can answer your questions ^.^
Please keep in mind, there are no stupid questions. If you are confused, ask us!

raptorfreak I'll probably be spending most of my time on this thread 3nodding . How do I change or even get a signature ? Yeah, they've taken away the links at the bottom, so now you are just kind of expected to know how to get to all your settings. But once you know the way it's really easy.
All your settings for your profile, signature, and Gaia preferences are under My Gaia -> Account. Just click on that and you'll see several options on the side for customizing your stuff. ^.^ There is a link to update your signature near the bottom.
Keep in mind everything here uses BBcode, which is a rather annoying form of HTML. Basically you put all the tags in brackets instead of the < and > signs. So, to change color you would put
[ color= blue ] Blue text [ / color ]
Without the spaces, of course. And you have to close the tags in the order you opened them, last tag first and so on. If you google BBcode there are a couple good sites that show you all the different tags.

Now I have another question:
In the my account thing, there is an option for an OMG and I clicked it, and it said I didn't have any. So what is an OMG and how do I get one? More importantly do I want one?

OMG is a skin for something called Bebo (I don't know what that is), but if you have it, you can get a Gaia skin for it and walk your avatar around in a different environment from towns, I guess. It's pretty much the same as towns, where you move around and interact with other avatars, but in Bebo. I've never had it nor do I use whatever Bebo is, but whether you want it or not is up to you ^.^ It won't affect your account here either way.

I'm also pretty much a newbie to Gaia, gabby. It took me so long to figure out the signature the other night. Good idea starting this thread, Neko! ^_^
Oh... And while I'm here - Hello to Yolee! I haven't talked to you on the webbie yet, but I did visit your bio. I'm so glad that you decided to join *FE*! xd

I tend to change my avvie radically a couple times while I'm online.
I just have so many items that can be equipped so many different ways that it's pretty easy to do.
:3 I post my favorite combo's on my questie thread front page.
I haven't updated it in a couple days though. *tear*
