I had to write two poems for school...actually I had to write three, but one is a group proformace poem so posting it up here wouldn't make any sense.
I would love some opinions on my poems. One of them won an award in my english class, so I guess it must be halfway decent.

here's one....

Left Alone

And she saw mama with the lawyer on the back patio,
Because daddy stopped giving her what she needed.

And she saw daddy in the bar drinking his life away,
Because mama stopped loving him the right way.

And she saw brother with his girlfriend locked in his room,
Because his friends were pushing him to go all the way.

And she saw sister’s boyfriend call her a whore,
Because he heard she slept over at the neighbor boys.

And she saw the young 13 year old girl
Get eaten alive by the 18 year old boy,
Like he was a lion who was hungry for meat,
And she was just a girl who had grown up to fast.

And she saw the world in another the light,
The day she turned 16.
When her momma and daddy got their divorce,
And she had to move with her Aunt Darlene.

‘Cause her daddy didn’t want her,
And her momma couldn’t pay,
And her brother was with the girl
He got pregnant that dreadful day.
And her sister committed suicide,
Because her boyfriend didn’t understand.
Leaving her there to wonder why,
The world didn’t want to hold her hand.

And she started going to a school,
Full of people not like herself.
And she silently feared for life,
Because their skin was not like hers.

And at the age of 17,
She met a boy who she liked.
But her aunt told her to stay away,
Because he wasn’t very nice.

And a week after they started dating,
He took her to the pond,
And asked her to do something,
And she wasn’t very fond.

This got her boyfriend angry,
And he beat her with his hands,
And angrily threw her in the water,
And no one was around so no one could see,
The slathering this boy did to the girl who was only 17.

And her mother wept coldly,
And her father held her hand.
And her brother finally proposed
As would any man.
And their baby who was one,
They taught this simple thing:
If momma and daddy stopped talking,
And sister committed suicide,
And brother got a girl pregnant,
And you had to move away,
The world would still hold your hand.

and here's the other one.... (this one was also made for proformance. So keep that in mind.)

Shattered

Gonna crack, gonna scream, gonna cry.
This work that pounds my brain makes me want to die.
All I want anymore is to lay asleep away,
But instead I sit awake at night and pray.
Pray for my comfort, pray for my sanity,
Pray for the world that’s seemed to lost all humanity.
I pray for this, and I pray for that,
But I’ve yet to pray for God to take something back.
Because I live with what I’m given even if I hate,
But I’ll be dead at seventeen if I keep going at this rate.
My mind’s here and my mind’s there,
And my brain seems scattered everywhere.
I’m shattered.

And I huff the hateful heavy haunting howl,
As work grabs me by the waste and pulls me down.
And I scratch and I bicker and I try to break away,
But it holds to me with death around its knuckles forcing me to stay.
And every time I stop my struggle and let it take control.
Can’t you see how this workload has eaten my soul?

I’M DYING I TELL YOU! A SLOW PAINFUL DEATH!
And to the rest of you
To the rest of you like me,
Dying from insanity.
To you who feel this excruciating death.
To you I do wish the best.
You’ll need it,
You’re shattered.
