Da-da-da-daaa! FMA! Opinions anyone? This is an awesome series! The manga is so much more in depth than the anime. Although I did like the anime too. Oh, the story to FMA(Full Metal Alchemist) is that of two brothers that lose their mother to a disease at a young age. In their grief they attempt to bring back their mother using alchemy. However their transmutation goes awry one ends up losing a leg and an arm, the other his entire body. After that they set out to become enlisted alchemists of the military and soon find themselves wrapped up in the search of the philosopher's stone and monsters called "humunculus". The plot only thickens when a murder named Scar enters the scene. I'm stopping at this point because by now major differences appear in the manga and anime so to describe both stories would be a little confusing.

I'm only on volume five, I think, but I like it. But I'm not crazy about it. It's like one of those "Oh, I'm bored, I think I'll read this right now." type of manga series for me.

I like FMA a lot. The storytelling is pretty good, and I love the quality of the art. It also has a really great range of characters. It's the first manga I ever read, too, so I just kind of love it.
I've never seen the anime, and probably never will bother with it, since its totally different, and just doesn't sound as interesting to me.

I haven't read the manga but I've seen every episode of the anime. The ending made me cry, and it's become one of my favorite series! I love Ed and Al!
