this is a nifty little thing from the Victorian era. Ladies would store their thread balls in them for crochet-on-the-go!

a random thing Izumi found just the other night

http://www.ariadneknits.com/blog/?p=62

is a center-pull yarn ball.. VERY easy to make and all you need is yarn and a couple of fingers heart Izumi has already made 3 (one from a soft pink yarn and other two from crochet thread.. they take up MUCH less space than on the cardboard tubes they come on) just in last couple of hours.. Izumi finds it to be very relaxing sweatdrop especially with 3 dogs, a baby (~19 months old), and a clumsy idiot (the baby's mother/ our house-keeper) running around... Izumi wants to go back to old house in Houston.. is SO much more peaceful there! It would be much better here if Onisan (big brother) and his family would go home every now and then.. but his wife (the clumsy house-keeper, Sher) always finds some reason to not go back... first it was house was too dirty (they just move into house just behind this one), then there was a cockroach (a tree roach.. We are in Texas.. they get in every now and then), then their toilet broke (only one of several!), now is because kitchen has been riped out for remodeling... gonk Izumi just want some quiet and only room internet works in here is in living room, where dogs and baby stay during day...

OH! Izumi just found missing crochet hook! 4laugh is one Izumi likes to use for lace .. size US 10 (1.30mm).. however Izumi has a couple of progects started with another one that Izumi forgot at house in Houston.. stare Poo!

Well, Aedan (the baby) is taking a nap now, Sher is upstairs bugging Okasan (mother) and dogs finally stop fighting! So Izumi going to try to figure out this pattern for pretty doily.. 3nodding
