Waiting For Dawn
Sixteen years ago, A research faclity near the small town of Anoma was conducting reasearch into the possablity of moving between dimentions. The locals were told the researchers were close to a breakthrough, but they were never to find out if they succseded, for one stormy night there was an explotion, one that set the faclity alight and burned it to the ground. The locals tried to fight the blase, entering the building to save the researchers, but not one could be found, instead they found six small infants. Shortly after the faclity's destruction, the govenment swooped in and placed the infants into qurantine, but could find nothing out of the ordinary with them. The infants were placed into adoption, in the same town that had witnessed the faclitys destruction. For years evrything was normal, the infants, now teens found their ways into diffrent social circles, and the faclity was fogotten, and everyone got on with their lives. That is, until the Teens began to develop ablities the like of which no-one was perpared for. . .
And to make matters worse, slayers are coming to town.
Rules:
1) If you want to join you have to make a Bio 2) Posts have to be in first person, to tell every everyone apart we should put our Character names at the top of each post 3)The six teen's have been picked, be if you want, you can still join as a slayer 4) Follow the basic RP rule (No god-modding with out permission, ect.)

I used to think I was like any other kid, until the changes started telling me otherwise. It all started out with a few minor things, like I might notice my eyes change color in the mirror or my facial features might. One night I went to my secret hide away and tried to figure out what was happening, learning I could change things about myself at will. I figured out how to grow claws, make myself appearance like a completely different person, and many other things.
"What are these strange powers?" I asked myself as I stared at my newly grown claw-like fingers and sighed.
I eventually returned home for sleep, knowing school would be very interesting the next day.

It was a sunny morning, the kind that you constantly see on TV shows to show that everyone is happy, funny how things are never like they are on TV. Me and Rowan were waiting for Rith at the arcade, but I wasn't sure we could stay, our quarters were rapidly running out. "you think he'll be long?" I said impatently, I was more annoyed at the game then at Rith, but it would help if he got there faster.

I woke with a sudden start, my internal clock waking me up to realize I had slept in too damn long. I cursed to myself and dressed quickly running outside. With a grin I decided to try something, slowly concentrating on my hand and feet I shaped them into claws like before and climbed up one of the buildings, make sure not to be seen by anyone. After I made it on top I concentrated once more on my legs, altering them slightly for what I had in mind.
Getting a running start I sprung off the roof of one building onto the roof of the next, racing across them with a grin and sprinting my way towards the arcade. I soon arrived, slightly winded, and changes myself back before dropping down near the arcade, once more making sure no one was about to see.
Walking in I greeted the others with a grin and said, "Sorry about being late. I forgot to set my alarm clock again and slept in too late."
I could do nothing but grin, remembering the exhilarating experience I just had with these strange new powers. Best not tell them though, otherwise they might think I am crazy or worse turn me into some science laboratory.

яσωαи єναиѕ "It's ok," I answered, grinning back at Rith. I was relieved that he'd actually shown up; I wasn't really a huge fan of arcade games and I wasn't sure how long it would be before Doug noticed that I'd been letting him pay for all the games. "Sooo, where're we going?" I asked enthusiastically, dragging them both towards the exit before Doug could say anything about wanting to play a few more games. Somehow I'd managed to give him the impression that I liked arcade games and every weekend I'd end up here. Luckily Rith had tagged along this time so I'd managed to escape a whole day of video games. I looked up at them both, waiting for an answer. ((@raid - lol, thought the post pic thingy was cool so I used it too whee ))

((Hey Nemo, how did you get that fancy font for Rowan's name?)) "I don't know" I said droping the plastic gun back in it holder, "there's never anything to really do in this town, unless you guys got more quarters?" it was a feeble attempt to get change off them, they knew better then to feed my "habit" of video-games. "We could kill some time down at the shopping center, Dea said she might be shopping there" I continued when nether produced any money, then something werid happend, I caught a whiff of something that reminded me of Dea, like a scent, but it was faint, like whatever had caused it had left some time ago, I figuered it was just my nose playing tricks on me and went back to thinking about where to go next.

яσωαи єναиѕ "Yeah, I guess we could," I replied, actually approving of the idea. Rith and Doug would probably find it boring but for some reason I didn't find shopping that bad and if we managed to find Dea then there would be less chance of us coming back here. I grabbed hold of both their arms, leading them in the general direction of the shopping centre. "If that gets boring then we can always go to the park," I suggested. ((It's saved on my computer somewhere - no idea where I originally got it from though xD I can send you it if you want 3nodding ))

I had to open my big mouth! I always forgot how much Rowan was into shopping because he was a guy. I never minded food shopping, the smells were my favourite part of that, but in a clothes shop, everything smelled too clean, it freaked me out. We were half way down the road when I pointed out to Rowan "you do realise we don't need to be draged the whole way there?"((Nah, I just wanted to know how you got it on Gaia, I have a font, but it won't work))

яσωαи єναиѕ "Actually you do," I said with a grin, "I'm not psychic but I know that if you did manage to escape I'd be able to find you at the Arcade." I looked up at Doug with that 'you will never escape me' look in my eyes. A devilish grin crossed my face for a few moments before we stepped through the doors into the main shopping centre. There were a lot more shops in the surrounding area but we both knew that this part was Dea's favourite. "To HMV!" I yelled as I half-ran through the lobby, well aware of the weird looks I was getting. I wouldn't be suprised if Rith and Doug had abandoned me at that moment but fortunately they followed me. ((It's not the font ~ its the actual letters if that makes any sense at all xD ))

"Well, at least they have a games section" I absently said with a grin, a little glad it wasn't a clothes shop for the first stop, "How do you think Dea convinced her parents to let go in this time? She always seems to find a way" I caught a wiff of the cafe next to the music store, I loved coffee, the taste the smell, but that wasn't what caught my attention, there was a girl with long black hair, and dark glasses, like something a blind person would wear, but there was something sinster about her. But I figuered it was the smell of the cafe messing with my head and continued into the store
"Holy crud monkeys!! They got that new shoot em' up game!" I screamed, sprinting out passed Rowan, "They said they wouldn't have it for another week!" ((I think I do, thanks))

I roll my eyes at the two as I followed along, hands in my pockets. I glanced about at the sights and tried to pretend like I wasn't with the two crazy people I was following. Why did Doug always have to be so obsessed with games. Well at least Rowan's habits weren't as bad since I've noticed him look more than buy unlike Doug.
"Well then, do you think she will really be here or get here before Doug tries to buy all the games in the store?" I say with grin as continue to walk along behind the two, "If not maybe we should take his wallet away so he won't be tempted?"
I chuckle and just keep walking, wondering if we will meet Dea there or not, but also the hair on the back of my neck stands on end as we pass by the person Doug noticed. My head never once turns and my eyes remain pointed towards the ground, but I quickly dismiss the feeling the same as Doug, figuring it was nothing.
((Well we introduced our slayer now we just need the slayer to make a post. And like I said if you want me to use photo shop and create you a custom post stamp Divine I'd be willing, just tell me.))

яσωαи єναиѕ As we walked past the cafe, my vision suddenly flicked to colour, highlighting the girl at the table. Before I could say anything to Doug or Rith, I had gone back to seeing in black and white. Colour normally meant that my 'powers' would become active, usually meaning that I ended up with some crazy wings and what I guessed to be a halo round my head. The first time it'd happened, I totally freaked and managed to end up flying half-way across the town. Luckily no one had seen me, with the exception of Doug, who had ended up hiding me in his room until the wings had gone. And the colour was the first sign that I was changing. Today however, it had only been for a few seconds so I didn't bother to mention it to either of them. They'd probably both noticed the girl too anyway... I looked up at Rith, a few seconds later, realising he'd been talking. "What..?" I asked, blinking a few times, "I kinda got distracted." I looked round, noticing Doug staring at all the games, and managed to pick up the gist of the conversation. ((who is this slayer? is it an NPC or someones characer? @raid - how good is photoshop? at the minute I have Paint Shop Pro X2 which is really good but I was wondering if photoshop was any better or worse?))

"Don't worry Rith, I spent all my money in the Arcade anyway" I replied with a laugh, I realised had rushed in so quickly I hadn't taken the time to look for Dea, but on inspection of the store I figured out she hadn't arrived, which was probably just as well, what with my head stuck in the games section, and somehow it always was. ((you guys may not have noticed, but I was describing Dead Eddie's character. And Its ok I have Photoshop CS2, I'm slowly making my own stamp xd But thanks anyway))

((oy, sorry about not posting and all... I've been caught up with other things... i'll be available all week, however, since Spring Break's started! ^_^ once i get my history project done, at least...)) I hate being sick. The stuffy nose, the pounding migraines, the random sneezing and coughing fits... All of it. Stupid little brother gave it to me. This probably explained why exactly I was over in the completely opposite side of the shopping center at the pharmacy buying some cold medicine. The drama department's play was coming up, and the art show; this was NOT the time for me to be struck with illness! That reminds me, I have to get some new paints for my portrait. Once the pharmacy counter person gave me the medicine, I headed over towards the other side of the area towards HMV ((whatever the heck that is...)) and onward to the arts-and-crafts store.((by the way, Raid, can I have one of those picture-banner things?))

Damien
It was another cold day. Why is it always cold? I was walking down the same sidewalks for what felt like forever, but I didn't seem to be getting anywhere. I was lost. I had lived in this neighborhood my whole life, and I was lost. Was it left here? Or was it straight? No, it couldn't be, I hadn't been down that way for as long as I could remember. There was somebody walking down the sidewalk in the opposite direction as me. Two somebodies to be exact. They were both wearing bright dresses and ridiculous, old fashion hats. Who belched the twenties all over these people? I stare at them as they walk, but not in that stalkerish way that most people probably think when I stare at them. I stare at people just to watch them, to see what they'll do. I've heard some people call it "people watching". And, as I said, I've also heard some people call it stalking. Maybe I'm wierd. Maybe not. I don't really care. They were both smiling and laughing at some joke. My hands were shoved in my pockets as they got closer, and I was beginning to become nauseus. Oh, oh no... Not again. I turned my head to the side, my eyes watering as they passed. The combined smell of their perfumes made me light-headed, and only exacerbated my nasuea. Why did this have to happen when I was lost? I had to get home, but which way was home? Suddenly I realised that I had known the whole time, but some part of me that I did not understand had refused to go that direction. But home was my only refuge these days. I started to run. My legs would not take me fast enough. Suddenly there it was. There was the lawn, and then the door. If I could only make it into the house... My bag slipped off of my shoulder and fell to the ground as I crossed onto my lawn. I didn't trip, but I fell just the same, landing on my hands and knees and clutching my chest. My eyes were wide and I was wheezing heavily, but not because of my lungs. Why? Why does it hurt so much? "Uhh..." I moaned aloud, my vision growing blurry from tears that I did not realise were there. I coughed and spluttered and heaved until my body finally buckled, and I landed hard on my face. The grass rose above my line of vision, so that It seemed as though I was in some strange world of green. Saliva slipped from my open mouth as I started to lose control. My eyes were so wide now that my irises and pupils seemed like tiny flecks in fields of white. And then, the alien green world began to change. It turned brown, dried out, shriveled up. The grass all around me was suddenly dead. More wheezing brought on by the dull yet heavy pain that seemed so intent on crushing my chest. Why? WHY DOES IT HURT SO MUCH?! Darkness. I slip into nothingness and once again, I am completely alone. I wake up in my four-poster bed. The one with the black drapes. I have black curtains on my window too. Thick ones. Perfect for blocking out all the light just when I need it the most. I hear my parents talking downstairs and after listening for a while I come to two conclusions. One, they are talking with a doctor. About me. And two, when my parents found me they had clearly freaked out. Again. More distressed talking from my parents, and then the conversation subsides. They've obviously come to some conclusions of their own. I hear the doctor coming up the stairs. I know it's him because I can still hear my parents downstairs, whispering now as if I can't hear them. I look at the door, waiting for it to open. And sure enough, it does. In walks the doctor in his annoyingly steriotypical white coat. He walks over to my bed and sits down. Without asking. I already don't like this guy. "Hello son, had quite a spill today, didn't you?" I just stare at him, mentally sizing him up. Apparently I was staring too long, because he cleared his throat and began looking uncomfortable. "Well, I can't find anything really wrong with you," Oh good. I hadn't heard anything so ironically hilarious all week. Maybe this guy wasn't so bad. "So all I can really recommend is that you get some rest. But if anything like this happens again, just let us know, and we'll run more thorough tests on you." Great. Just what I wanted. I'd have to remember to thank Santa for that one. "But hopefully it's just exhaustion." He looked me over. "You DO look pretty tired. Do you sleep much?" Actually no, doctor. I don't really sleep at all anymore. Then he'd ask Well why not, son? And I'd tell him, honestly? Because I'm afraid of what I might find if I do. Or rather...what might find me. By this time he has obviously realised that he won't be getting an answer, because he has returned to scrutinizing me. "That's odd..." He suddenly seems a bit nervous. Uh-oh. nervous doctors are never a good sign. I finally speak, "What?" The doctor removed his glasses and rubbed his eyes. "I'm not sure. But it almost looks like your eyes are...red. The color I mean." I attempt a scoff, and then recycle my earlier question with an added hint of incredulousness. "What?" The doctor put his glasses back on, and then resumed studying me, only closer, scrunching up his nose as though I'm some sort of biology specimen. "It could just be my imagination, but..." Suddenly he stopped short. "I'm going to have to take a closer look at that. Do you mind if I turn on the light?" "There isn't one." "Oh, well then I'll just open these curtains here." I don't have time to react, and my eyes automatically follow him towards the window. He flings the curtains open, and sunlight floods my room, and strikes my pupils directly. I scream. My eyelids aren't thick enough, and I claw around my bedding, desperately trying to find my pillow. The instant I do, I bury my face in it, and throw myself on the bed, facing away from the window. The pillow and bedding aren't dark enough. It feels as though someone is driving railroad spikes into both my eyes, then pulling them the rest of the way through the back of my neck, twisting and shaking as they do. Searing pain explodes inside my head. "CLOSE THE CURTAINS! CLOSE THE #*%&$^@ CURTAINS!!" I scream. My parents practically fly up the stairs. They open my door to find the doctor trying to pry my arms and pillow away from my face."Now son, let's have a look at that." My mother takes in the stiuation almost immediately, rushing to help the doctor. My father just stands in the doorway, in shock, or indecision, or something else, I don't know. After about a minute or so of the three of us struggling, the pain suddenly subsides. The doctor pulls my arms down and removes the pillow. He looks at my eyes and finds that they're...brown. Plain old brown. He frowns, standing up again, clearly disturbed. He tells my parents to call if we have any more problems, then leaves. My mother closes the curtains, then looks at me with a pained expression, and also leaves the room. My father is about to follow after her, grabbing the doorknob to pull the door shut behind him, but pauses, looking back into the room at me. Only it is not sadness or even pity I see in his face, but suspicion. Finally he too leaves, pulling the door closed behind him. And once again, I find myself alone in the dark. I sink into my bedding. Why, oh why can't I be normal? What's wrong with me?
((sorry if this completely SUCKS guys, but I had written it once, and it was REALLY good, and I clicked submit, but it had taken me so long that gaia had automatically logged me out, and I lost EVERYTHING. I even lost the mood I'd been in that had allowed me to write it in the first place, so this attempted re-write is not the same or as good as the original, but hopefully it will be good enough.))
