Closest to the Owlery, the Ravenclaw tower is found on the west side of the castle. It's a tall tower, though not overshooting the Astronomy Tower, and requires a password to reveal its entrance.

Xurdion finally arrived at the Ravenclaw common room and found that it was nearly empty. "Ah, what can you do?" He muttered as he took a seat by the fireplace. It was nice and warm inside the common room, very comfortable and welcoming. Only half of him was dissappointed that none of his friends were there yet. He still had his alchemy book out, he opened it to a fresh page that he had never tried before. "This looks interesting." He said as he scanned the page, however he didn't have the proper ingrediants to preform on the newspaper. "Ah man..." He muttered. He knew he would have to get a fresh shipment of ingredients from his mother when she got back from the Congo. "I'll just write her a letter than." He headed up the stairwell and into the boy's dormitory, he found that his stuff had already been brought up for him, along with his very well trusted owl. He grabbed a piece of parchment and an inkwell from his trunk, he pulled out a quill from his pocket and closed the lid carefully. He went back downstairs and took his place next to the fire and began to think of what to write.
Dear Mom, Hogwarts is...different than the year before, almost like the second year. I've got into an arguement with a Slytherin again and this time everyone chimed in...against me. They even went so far as to threaten us meaning everyone in our family. They mocked my alchemy but that isn't the point, I resisted the urge to jinx the lot of them unlike my second year. Anyway the real reason I'm writing is because I'm running low on ingredients for my tests so when you get back, could you please send me a fresh load? Thank you.
Love, Xurdion
"Looks good to me." He thought as he went back up the stairs and opened his owl's cage. "There you go, make sure this gets to mom." He said as he fed it an owl treat, he went over and opened a window. "Come back safely." He said as he let it go out the window and watched as it flew off. He sighed before going back down the stairs and sitting down by the fire for a third time. He opened his alchemy book and began to read through it's contents.

Emerging from the dim hallway into the bright Common Room, Addison found it almost completely deserted. I guess there weren't as many people missing from the Great Hall as I thought...
She gave Xurdion a small wave as she passed him, opening the door that led to the dormitories, glancing over and smiling at the large statue of Rowena Ravenclaw that was beside the door. Entering the Seventh Year Girls' dorm, she stode over to her bed, flopping down on it and placing Sezer's book gently on the bedside table. It was almost pitch black outside, so there was hardly any light coming in the many windows. She took her wand out of her pocket and pointing it at the few lanterns that hung from the ceiling and muttered a spell. Flames shot up in the lanterns and she smiled; it was a little brighter in the dormitory now. She rose and walked to the foot of her bed, kneeling down by her trunk, and opened it, muttering "Lumos." The tip of her wand lit up and she opened her trunk, holding her wand in her teeth so she could see what she was doing. She pulled the remaining texts out of the her trunk and put them off to the side, on top of her bookbag. She wished for a moment that the schedules were handed out at dinner instead of in the morning at breakfast, but shrugged. She would just leave breakfast early tomorrow morning and grab the books she needed instead of packing all of them and bringing them with her.
Snapping her trunk shut, she grabbed Sezer's book again and exited the girls' dorm, muttering "Nox," as the door swung shut behind her. Her wand tip dimmed, and she stood with her back against the door, surveying the large circular room, both the ceiling and floor spattered with stars. Smiling, she took a seat to the right of the entrance, near a large bookcase. She kicked off her shoes and tucked her legs under her, settling herself into the comfortable chair. She opened the book and began reading about Sezer's grandfather, a small smile on her face.

Xurdion walked back into the boy's dormitory, he was really exhausted and didn't want to use up the last bit of ingredients that he had left. "Geez..." He muttered, he was close to starting a spell fight at the Ravenclaw table and that wouldn't have been good for him, especially on his first day back. He lay down on the bed and looked up at the top of his bed. He took a deep breath and lit the lantern next to his bed. He flipped open a small letter that his mother sent him before he left for the Hogwarts Express.
Dearest Xurdion,
I'm sorry that I can not see you off to the Hogwarts Express today as I have been called to find a rare ingredient deep in the jungles of the Congo. It is a very rare root that is very important to my next creation and I must leave straight away before the other alchemists can get to it. However, I left you a fresh supply of ingredients so that you may continue your alchemist training while I'm away. I wish you the best at Hogwarts and that you should not have or make any trouble. I will see you soon, love.
Love, Mom
"I guess I'm feeling a bit sentimental..." He muttered as he folded the letter up and put it in the robes that he set on the chair next to his bed. "Ah well, I'm sure I'll have a better day tommorrow."

Stifling a yawn, Vlaityn entered the Common Room. 'Home away from home.' As she glanced around Vlaityn noticed that they were only people to be found, although she had seen Addison and Xurdion's retreating figures heading for bed. Vlaityn thought she might stick around the Common Room for a bit. It was more peaceful. She turned around to see if Seth had followed her. She had been going a little quickly. 'Although the boy could probably no doubt keep up. He seems very fit.' Blushing slightly, Vlaityn shook the thought from her head. 'He grabbed your hand.' She heard her mind snicker. 'He was afraid of heights! Of course he did.' A shiver ran down her back as she thought of how Seth had blushed on the stairway. He shouldn't have been so handsome.
"Seth?" She called out softly near the opening of the Common Room, no wanting to disturb anyone. "You make it okay?"

Addison looked up from her chair near the entrance to the Common Room, marking the page she was on with her forefinger. "I didn't see Seth come in, Vlaityn," she said. "Xurdion was here a moment ago, but I think he went to bed. And I think I might have heard Eva in her dorm, but I'm not sure."
She shifted her weight a bit, trying to make herself more comfortable, and settled on slipping her legs out from under her, crossing her legs. Addison smiled at Vlaityn, gesturing to one of the seats near her own, inviting her to sit if she was so inclined.

"I'm here," he said quietly. He stepped into the firelight, blue eye glinting slightly. "What the hell is wrong with me? I shouldn't be feeling this! I can't!" He bit his lip, staring into the fire, willing the feeling to disintegrate. It did not. "I don't know what to do! I have no idea what she thinks of me, and the fact that she's absolutely beautiful isn't helping my composure!" He looked at Vlaityn, trying to come up with something to say, something to break the silence. All he managed was "Um..." "Oh, just marvelous, Seth. Tongue-tied. What a great way to start a conversation!"

"Oh yes, I thought I saw Eva leave..." Vlaityn's attention was torn away from Addison as Seth walked into the Common Room.
"Oh, I didn't lose you. Good." She flashed a small, nervous smile. Relieved that she hadn't lost Seth, Vlaityn walked over to the fireplace to stare at the glowing, flickering flames. The red and orange hues would hopefully hide the color that had risen to her face. "Think you can like this place well enough?" Vlaityn murmured softly without looking at Seth. Part of her insisted she was making small talk, but another wanted him to be happy here. 'It's somewhat home like...'

Lori entered the Ravenclaw common room out of breath. She had missed the banquet, only managing a bit of food, and had gone down to the kitchens for more food. She had then taken a detour so that she could prank a group of Gryffindors and then ran back since they had figured her out. Lori looked around and shook her head, pushing her hair back and putting her bangs to the side. Catching sight of Addison, a fellow seventh year, and Vlaityn, a sixth year, Lori straightened up and walked calmly up the stairs to the dormitories, taking a book, and walking back down, sitting in a chair near the fire, not saying anything. Lori opened the book to the stained glass bookmark and started to read, not saying a thing.
((Aw, man. Writer's Block already.))

"What? Oh, yeah, yo- it's absolutely amazing." He cleared his throat. "The enchanted suits of armor are really neat," he said somewhat lamely. "Damn it, Seth! Get a hold of yourself!" Finally, Seth was able to obtain coherence. "This place has such an... atmosphere to it. There's something that just is... In the air or something. The portraits, the floating candles, the sandstone blocks.... I've never been anywhere like this before." Seth could barely believe where he was. A few months ago he was sweating in Cairo. Now he was in a castle, in front of a roaring fire, next to a perceptive girl that had brought up feelings he'd buried years ago.

"Yes, it is completely magical." Vlaityn fet herself start to snicker quietly. "Not trying to sound lame. But it is an amazing place. It's very strange and comforting. A bit big for my taste, but I deal." She looked up at him and smiled lazily. Did he really like it? Would he have preferred to be off traveling around the world with Esrath? She hoped not.
"It's had the feeling of home. Almost." She mumbled softly, turning her head back down so Seth wouldn't see her face.

"I'm sick of traveling," he said, more to himself than anyone else. "The more houses you have, the less home there is. Do you miss your home?" he asked, noticing that she had turned away. Seth uncoiled Esrath from his shoulders and placed him on the chandelier so he could stretch and digest his meal.

Addison gave Lori a small wave when she entered, then began to watch the conversation between the two younger students, not wanting to interrupt, but feeling the small amount of tension that was between them. In an attempt to ease things, she spoke up.
"You pretty much hit the nail on the head, Seth. Every year when I come back, it takes me weeks to get used to the grandeur and...well, for lack of a better word, magic"--she smiled at Vlaityn--"that this place just exudes. Being home for the summer always makes me forget..." She trailed off and let her eyes roam around the Common Room as Seth and Vlaityn continued their conversation, sighing at the rich blues and bronzes that hung around the room, and the stars on the floor and ceiling that seemed to almost twinkle.

"Sick of it? I suppose you would be. I'd like to see a few more places before I set my roots though." Vlaityn trailed off. A trip to India, Scotland, and New Zealand sounded enjoyable. But home, even better.
She shot Addison a large smile, glad for the extra voice. Seth unnerved her, and she didn't want to be the only one to greet him that night.
"Miss home? Oh, well, yes. No. Well. What do I miss?" Vlaityn considered it. She missed her home back in Michigan. But she didn't miss it a ton. She didn't miss her old neighbor. No, he was so wicked. Nor did she miss her current home in Suffolk. What did she miss? 'What's missing?' "I don't know." Vlaityn finished lamely.
