 It was night time as he wandered through the clearing, pausing to gaze up at the stars. Both his mother and father were star watchers and he had gotten his joy of gazing at the sky from them... And even if they hadn't he was certain that he would love to do so. It was just so... beautiful.
Sighing he looked down from the twinkling sky, smiling as his eyes moved instead to the blades of grass growing from the ground. They hadn't been this green when he'd first looked at them but now? Now they were beautiful too. There was magic in the season of Spring, of that he was sure.

The mare really wasn't quite sure, what she was doing back on the mountain side but she thought that it was because it was the most beautiful place she had ever been too. Soft lavendar eyes looked in her reflection under the starlit sky. The waters sparkled under the stars. She smiled gently as her ears flicked toward a sound. Someone coming? No, not many came this far out...
She sighed softly. She wondered where her life would take her...so far it seemed down hill. Perhaps it would take a turn for the best. She could only hope.

Taking a deep breath he moved on. He'd come up this far for a reason, of course. There was a crystal clear pool not far from where he'd paused. The water always seemed to taste better there and it was worth coming up this far for... Definitely worth it.
He paused as he entered the small clearing, strikingly blue eyes settling on the form of a mare; of someone new. He took a shy step backwards, uncertain as to whether or not he wanted to move on. He didn't... Want to interrupt anything... But wouldn't it be just as rude to stand here watching without letting her know he was there?

Raina's tail flicked as her eyes turned sharply to a crack of a twig. It was a rather large male. Dark as night and markings light as the sun. She wasn't very sociable but she decided to make an attempt. She whickered roughly. Her voice would never be normal, but at least she was no longer mute. Light lavendars watched him, he seemed frightened of her. Wait of her? How odd. Her ears flicked forward, intrigued now.

It seemed as if she had answered his question, spotting him where he stood. His tail flickered slightly as he held still, not wanting any sudden movements to startle the mare... Or himself, for that matter. Eventually he smiled, bowing his head politely. "H-hello."

"Hi," she replied in a hushed whisper. Her tail curled around her leg nervously as she looked up to him. She smiled softly, "My names Raina...you?" she asked in the same hushed tone. If she got too loud it was less femine and raspy, rought. She blinked at him. He had an interesting mane. But his eyes were intense and she couldn't take hers away from his. She tilted her head as she watched and waited for an answer.

"Swynion." He nodded slowly before bowing his head once more, attempting to be the sort of sweet gentleman that his father was; the sort of stallion that his mother would be proud of now that he was wondering out and about on his own. "Raina is... A very pretty name."

"Swynion..." her brows furrowed before smiling subtly. "I like that." she looked to him gently. "Thanks." she blushed. She wasn't used to getting compliments, except when she was a foal from her father on occasion. Damn him. Her mother always told her she was perfect, she never believed her. However Kila and her were on good terms. "Your nice." she responded her broken language. "Not like the others."

"Others... Aren't nice?" His brow furrowed as he tilted his head to look at her. "Why wouldn't they be? Unless... They did not know better." He frowned, shaking his head slowly. "I... Haven't met many others..."

"No." she replied simply in the most innocent of manners. "Evil." she sighed softly. "They bite and claw." she motions to a scar left along the small of her back that ran on her spinal cord. She blinked at him. "Your nice." she smiled. Her ears flickered around cautiously much like a deer, "Me neither," she responded.

His eyes went wide as he looked in the direction tat she pointed him in, never having seen marks on flesh such as that before. "Evil...?" He wasn't so naive as to believe that such things didn't exist, but he had never come across it before and his parents didn't tell many 'bad' stories. They had told him to be careful, yes, but never about things like that.
When she said that he was nice he smiled, redirecting his gaze to her face once more. "Mother... Says that I am a lot like my father." He nodded slowly.

"My father is bad too." she chymed in. "S'okay though. We don't haveta be like them." she smirked. "Yeah." her light eyes looked to him curiously. "What you do for fun?" The manner in which she spoke was fumbled, but understandble.

"My father isn't bad. He's good." He nodded slowly, tail swishing behind him. "So is my mother; good and beautiful... Very nice, both of them." He nodded again before turning to look at her. "Fun? I... Watch the stars and look at the sky... And wander a bit; here and there."

"Me too." she smiled. "Running too, running is very much fun." she remembered a black and green foal that had been her friend and gave her a nickname...if only she could remember! She'd hate to forget.
