I wrote this awhile ago when a friend and I were looking up what our names meant and when I decoded my own name I realized how alike I really was to it and it got me thinking. But anyways I really want some strong criticism on this poem ^.^
a name just a word a word to call someone, a word to get the attention thats all it is or is it more? a meaning a definition something that defines who we turn out to be does it give us a life? does it give us a purpose? does it give us a right? does it give us ourselves a name we just assume thats all there is but its a symbol an insignia a tell it is ourselves. each name is different each name has a story each name gives its own definition what is your name? what are you defined? we always want to change our names change ourselves, change our lives but this is the truth we are who we are, we need who we are and our name is apart of exactly what we are of what makes us of what gives us our individuality so i will say my name loud i will say my name proud for i yes me am the pure gift of God from the water and it is a title i am happy to bear

I liked it - it makes good points about our selves and who we want to be
