*DIES*
Don't actually have it yet *smack's head* 'Rents wouldn't let me preorder because of a little mishap with Goodbye Blues sad but I'm making them take me to FYE this weekend and I've been listening to it constantly online.
Don't think I like it as much as Fever. I like it more than I thought I would though. :]

i knw people are going to give me a lot of crap about this but after hearing Pretty.Odd. I think the change in sound is too drastic and I know after being addicted to fall out boy's albums From Under the Cork Tree and Take This To Your Grave then listening to Infinity on High that when a band or any musician tries out a new sound it takes some getting used to.
I have to say though that I did not like the album as much as I thought I would. They lost their edge on this one. They still have a great sound just not for them. Like you know how red is darker than orange? Well A Fever You Can't Sweat Out has a red cover as Pretty. Odd. has orange on it. In other words Pretty. Odd. is not as dark as AFYCSO. I like dark. I like the whole sideshow carnival act theme. Right now it's a bit past "Nine in the Afternoon"

OMFG, I agree with both of you. This cd was kind of disappointing... The lyrics are not as good as the last cd, and part of the thing I liked about the last one was that you could dance to all the songs. I mean, I dont hate it at all- the more I listen to it, the more I like it... But- with Fever it was just like BAM! Love every song.
I do, also, like it more then I thought I would. When I read the lyrics for When the Day Met the Night, I was like, crap, I really hope the whole thing isnt like this. But there are some nice harmonies and what not. A few points of happiness. I think what drives me crazy about this cd is that they talk in it... I cant stand it when I hear that. And the kids playing at the end of When the day met the night... (cried)
But I love 5, 9, and 15- and Im sure Ill eventually adapt to the rest...

I do like the album. I don't love it, though. It makes me feel like I'm in the sixties when the Beatles were around and everything was 'groovy'. Heck, people have even went as far, on iTunes, to claim they stole some of the Beatles' beat. While I have to admit, I do like some of the songs, I don't like all of them and I doubt I will adapt to all of the songs as I did on A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. Now, sure, Panic is happy. That's great and wonderful, but I loved the weirdness of A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, and I am wondering what is going to happen when they tour. For some reason, this album reminded me of Alice in Wonderland or Through the Looking Glass sorta theme, and while that's fine and dandy, people will consider Panic posers. They will make obnoxious and evil comments and they will make fun of them. This album was a huge risk for them, and I commend them for taking it, although I really wish they were just a little more alternative, and less poppy. My grandma even liked this albumand wants to borrow it to put it on her iPod. sweatdrop confused

I'm sorry but I tried really hard to like this album.
but I couldn't, honestly it was too, idk... cute-sy?
AFYCSO had all these different instruments and melodies that I fell in love with instantly,
this is more pop-ish, run-of-the-mill, conformity tunes.
neutral and the same with FOB's new cd, the lyrics were cute, but they need more guitars and less of that synthesized crap. actually I don't think that's what it actually is, but it just didn't sound as "from the heart" as it used to.
I guess I'll listen to the cd more and see if it grows on me.

i didnt really like it at all. i borrowed pretty.odd. from a friend and the sounded soo different. if you compare it to the beatles of something, they sound the same. i was like what happened to the circusy theme? i do think they changed. i think that when people were calling them emo and stuff, they just got tired of it and changed. i dont know, put when it had the puzzles of stuff.. i was so excited. but then when pretty.odd came out, i was dissapointed.
