In a valley far away hidden from human eyes, Overgrown and forgotten for ages and ages. There's a time rift, hidden in a dark cave beneath a raging waterfall. Once you go through the rift there's no way out, it's a place untouched by th hands of time. A place with massive rainforests, active vocanoes, and hungry prehistoric beasts. Dinos of all shapes and sizes, even sabre tooth tiger and mamoths which have all been supossedly extint for a millenia or even longer. If they find you they have an easy meal, so watch your back unless you want to become dino kibble...

Kya awoke with the sun, she stretched and padded around her bedroom, she breifly ran her fingers through her pitch black hair. She continued her early morning activities around her home. When she was satisfied with her tidying up she went onto her balcony, and looked down at the forrest below. Soon after she decided she ought to go for a walk and see what kind of predators were out and about in her area. She grinned as this was her favorite part of the day, and also her favorite part about living high up in a tree house. She stated running and leapt wildly as she reahed the edge of her balcony. As she did so Kya thrust her hand out catching a thick vine she swung down lower and lower until she hitthe ground at a near run. A roar could be heardin the distance, "That sounds rather large and close..." she spoke to herself in all of her years here she had only ever seen two other humans and those were her parents. She assumed this wasn't a place anyone else would care to visit, with danger around each and every corner, she didn't mind it but then again she'd never known anything else, besides if anyone knew the way back it would have been her parents and they surely would have gone back if they knew how.

Leila and the other biology student's continued to analyze and identify the plants around the island. "This blows.." Leila wispered looking at the plants very uninterested. To make matters even worst, her summer fling with Paula had pretty much ended when Paula's grades dropped and she was unable to join her in the 'biological excursion'; pretty much an expensive field trip to some remote part of the world to analyze uninteresting plants and animals. Even her back-up fling James, a boy she met from South Africa, didn't come to the excursion, he went back to SA to study marine life. Some of the other students tended to analyze each other, so they would go off on their own in pairs or groups. Even the professors seemed to wonder off to do some analyzing of their own.
"Hey Leila... want to pair up?" Jordan snuck up behind her. Leila turned around looking him up and down. "umm.. sure... where do you wan-" Her eyes caught a strange lizard run pass them. "what was that?!" She ran after it leaving Jordan behind. The lizard took her to a secluded part of the island leading to the entrance of a valley.

Kya continued her walk by she was now learry of the large dino that must be near enough by now to pick up on her scent. She heard a strange noise comming up behind her, she passed a glance back at whatever was following her. There she found a raptor eyeing her from the bushes, it seemed to be sizing her up. She wasn't frightened by it, she remained calm, there was no reason to act startled and draw it closer to her. Instead she turned to face the oversized lizard, gripping her spear tightly in her right hand. She lowered her stance to keep her balance should the raptor decide to attack, after all it wouldn't be the first time a raptor tried to make a meal of her. She tried to use her telepathic abilities to invade it's mind and reveal it's intentions, she quickly realized the lizard wasn't open to her invasion when the beast lunged at her. Kya hardly had time to react to the sudden movement, she quickly dropped lower skidding between the beasts legs, at the same time she thrusted the spear into it's gut. Only a moment too late there was a larg gash on her shoulder, as the raptor keeled over releasing a death cry that almost deafened Kya.

Leila stopped suddenly before entering the valley. "woah... what is this..." she took three steps then turned back. "I better tell my professor abou-... no... they'll turn this place into an orgy... tonight I'll come back with my gear and check this valley out..." Leila marked a couple of trees so she could follow them back to the secret valley she found.

Kya clasped her hand over her wounded shoulder to slow the flow of blood. She knew now she had to get back to her tree top home and bandage the wound, before the scent of her blood drew any other unwanted predators. She retraced her steps until she got back to the foot of the tree in which she dwelled, "I hope I can make it up there." Kya was seriously worried that the wound may cause her to be grounded until it healed, she found the same vine she had used descend from the tree earlier. Kya wrapped it around her left arm to brace herself as she carefully made her way back up the tree, she had only taken a few steps before she realized she would have to wait to climb at least until she healed somewhat. She hoped back down landing firmly on her feet, she decided now to go look for some medicinal herbs and some sort of bandage for her shoulder.

Leila walked back to camp. "Where did you go?" Jason asked her. "I was just looking at some stupid plants..." He walked beside her back to the camp. Night was only a few hours away.

Kya continued her walk, but now with a new purpose. Found a small clearing where she often gathered herbs. She always tried to stick to exploring places she'd known to be safe, and even then she kept a watchful eye turned to her back. She knelt down and found exactly what she was searching for, it was a leaf which had many curative properties. She was never sure of their names but she knew what everyone of the plants in this area did. After she had plucked as many of the leaves as she needed, she conintued on her search for a bandage.

Leila was back in the camp eating and discussing important biological findings and revolutionary discoveries. All she really wanted to do was to explore the hidden valley and try to find that lizard. Jason soon started to put the moves on her, but she just brushed him off. Nothing was getting in her way to search that valley. She started to plan her outing. Leila would take all of her gear, including her tent and text books. She watched the moon slowly turn brighter as the night fell slowly.

Josh swore as he picked his way through the jungle"Damn bastards! How dare they trick me into staying behind,I swear when I get back I'm going to sue their bloody asses for this!"He snarled, climbing over a large tree trunk. He and his class had arrive about three days earlier and had managed to discover what could have been the foot prints of a possible Cro-Magnon,one of the main types of Homo Sapien. It was a huge find, one that impressed his professor but also the spite of his Josh's fellow pupils. So they'd gone on one final walk before heading back to camp, heading deep into the jungle and then ditching him when they stopped to fill their canteens.
A light glinted ahead of him,had he found his way out?"Oh than-where am I?"The canopy seemed to thicken overhead as he emerged into a small, ominous clearing...into the awning darkness of the valley sprawled out before him.He went into it,shivering from the cold that enveloped him.."Hello?Anyone there?"He called out.The light glinted again"What the hell is that?"He went deeper, until the walls of the valley closed in around him like a prison. The light glinted, but brighter this time...and closer. It began to swirl, like a vortex.Fear swelled up and Josh turned to flee as the light washed over him,the last thing he heard before the darkness took him was his cry of terror....
He awoke to the roar of thunder, his vision blurry"W...where am I?"

He passed out again, twitching as tingles sparked through his fingers..growing in annoyance until it stirred him, opening his eyes to see a small green lizard standing in his palm.It was the size of a chicken,it's tiny arms tucked into it's body.It bent over, tearing at his bloodied fingertips.Smacking the lizard off he sat up to find more of the lizards standing over him"Ah!Get away!"He shook them off to the high pitched squeaks of their protests, climbing to his feet though a wave of vertigo shot through him"Ah..damn it..."Tiny little bites covered his exposed skin "I've never seen a lizard stand up like that before..."He tried to work his way back up the path he had taken but found that some sort of rock slide had blocked it up,the good news was there seemed to be an opening where the "Light"had been.
He thought he was close to the ocean when he first heard the roar, but when he emerged he realized it was a waterfall.Coming out from under it he gaped in awe at the changed land, the ocean was gone....just a massive green body of rain forests sprawling out for miles on end"That's...that's impossible.."

Rydia stared down from her vantage point in the plane, admiring the landscape that always seemed square no matter where you flew. A freak storm had pushed her flight back, and the pilot was taking a supposedly shorter route. It was still raining, but the airlines deemed it safe enough to fly through. All of a sudden, the entire plane lurched; she'd have fallen out of her seat if she wasn't wearing her seatbelt. People screamed. The stewardess who was just pushing a food cart down the aisle fell and the cart sailed forward, crashing into the front of the plane. The pilot's voice came over the speakers, announcing an emercency landing. Rydia held onto her seat for dear life, praying in her head and screaming with everyone else as the plane began to descend. Her ears were popping madly, eyes shut tightly as she imagined the ground coming closer and closer and waiting for the impact. Suddenly, a light, brighter than anything she'd ever seen. The last thing she remembered before passing out was something that sounded like the roar of cannons...

When she woke up, she felt dizziness and... the rain. She could hear noises that she'd only heard on the Discovery Channel or Animal Planet. Opening her eyes, Rydia saw that she was laying next to a body of water. It was too small to be a lake, but too big for a pond. She wasn't sure what to make of it. What made the scene beautiful was the cascading water falling into it, like a veiled curtain. It was raining lightly, but she was soaked to the core. She'd obviously been out here for a long time. Getting up cautiously, she glanced around and cried out. There was a man next to her, face-down and still. Already shivering with cold, she touched his arm and felt ice. He was dead. She pulled her hand away and began sobbing. He must have carried her away from the plane. Perhaps they had been the only two survivors? Now he was dead and now she was alone. Without thinking, Rydia straightened out her purse (she couldn't believe she still had it!) on her shoulder more securely, then began pulling the dead weight. He wasn't too heavy, and she wasn't too strong, and it seemed odd to move his body in the first place. But this man had saved her, she knew it! And the least she could do was get his body out of the rain. She comtemplated the waterfall. In a lot of stories, there was usually a cave behind the waterfall. She waded in the cold water; the body was much easier to carry, she mildly noted. Reaching the waterfall in the relatively shallow water that stopped at her waist, Rydia walked around to a rock ledge next to it...

She hoisted his body up before getting out of the freezing water, panting. It was only colder in the air, but she felt relief at the sight of a dark cave hidden behind the waterfall, just as she'd suspected. Rydia wished she was stronger as she unceremoniously dragged the body inside the cave - surely he wouldn't be getting so banged up if she could carry him properly. She walked deeper into the cave, feeling it becoming more and more dry. A thought occured to her: What if there were bats? Then she pushed the thought away. Who honestly cared? Even as she put one foot in front of the other, she could feel the temperature changing, warming. But just when she was thinking of stopping for a break, she saw a tiny light. Her first thought was that she would soon be dead, that her body would lay here with the unknown man's. But as she neared it, she realized the cave must have been like a tunnel carved out by nature. Reaching the end, she stepped out into a completely different scene from the one she'd left behind. Her mouth fell open. It looked like those pictures of rainforests she'd seen back in her Biology class. More remarkable to her than that was the fact that the sun was shining. How could this be possible? Setting the body down, Rydia dug in her purse and found her cell phone. She flipped it open and didn't hesitate in dialing 911. She held the phone to her ear and waited. Nothing came. No sound, not even the ringing of the telephone she'd expected to hear. Confused, she held the phone away from her ear and saw that the phone was struggling to call the number. That was odd. She hit cancel and the phone went back to the main screen. Rydia gasped. This had never happened. It was unfathomable. If the phone wasn't near a tower, it drew its power from a satellite circling the earth. If the phone wasn't near a tower, it was on Extended Network. Now, two words were at the bottom of the screen, but they weren't the ones she'd expected to see: No Service.

At that very moment a rustling in a a bush nearby the waterfall. A whatever it was grew closer the rustling became louder and a bit more constant. Kya was rather pleased when she reached the water fall her parents had taken her to many times in the past. It had always seemed safe before but it took a lot more effort this time, she had been bleeding profusely from her shoulder for quite a while. Kneeingt by the deep water hole, it was the only fresh water source close to her home. She knew of the cave above, and hoped she had time to clean her shoulder and get to the safety of the cave hidden by the rushing water, before she passed out from blood loss. She began scooping water up to her shoulder to clean the wound. She had taken the skull of the raptor to mush her herbs in but she needed the water for that too, she first cleaned it as throughly as she could. Her vision was slightly blurrly when she finally moved away from the water. Kya then stared toward the cave at least if she passed out there the dinosaurs would be less likely to find her. She trudged right through the rushing water, crying out as the water hit her shoulder at full force, it dropped her to her knees, and also blurred her vision further. When she finally cleared her head and her eyes had adjusted to the darkness in the cave she saw the other humans, "Am I Hallucinating? Is that even a symptom of blood loss?" She wasn't really speaking to them but to her self.
