Aberon is the capital city of Surda. It's unique location close enough to the mountains and coastline make it ideal for trades and business. Aberon has many supplies frenquently brought in from the mountains and coastlines. The farming village to the north provides the city with plenty of food and resources. Besides trade, Aberon is also famous for its resturuants, diners, and bars. Some say the city is home to a group of rebels plotting against the King, but there has been no proof of this. Aberon prides itself on being the one stop shopping city in the Surda. If you need something, chances are you can find it and buy it in Aberon. Be wary of shops in alleyways and be sure to tip all at the resturaunts. The King has the city searched one week every year. Stay out of the way during that week. And becareful not to get pick-pocketed in the marketplace. And remember, always bring cash or something to trade.

A boy walked out of the shower and began to braid his long black hair in the back.
"What the heck took you so long!?! I've been waiting for like thirty minutes!", a well endowed girl with red hair yelled in the boy's face.
"Well you should should have gotten up earlier like I did to get to the shower first! I swear, I can't even begin to recall how many times I had to take freezing cold showers because you used up all the hot water!", retorted the well-built boy as he finished braiding up his hair. "Listen, I'd love to stay here and argue with you sis, but I need to get dressed.", The boy said before he turned around and walked down the hall to his room and slammed it shut. He walked past his backpack which was nearly full. He grabbed his favorite outfit, a red shirt, dark blue pants, and thin black shoes. After getting dressed, he put some clothes into the backpack and left his room.

The boy ran down the stairs into a huge kitchen divided into sections. He walked into a small section with very few utensils. "Ryu is that you?" A beautiful woman asked. "Yes Mom. Morning." Ryu replied. "Good morning to you. How'd you sleep?" the mother asked. "Ugh." the boy moaned. "That bad, huh? Well don't worry, you'll be fine. You're a strong young lad who can take of hiself and can hold his own against the world." she said in a soft and reasuring voice. "Thanks Mom... I love you. I just wish Dad felt the same way." The boy sighed. "It'll be alot better without you here, finally some peace and quite, the only reason Dad's making you leave at age 16 is because you're a disappointment and danger to the restaurant." The red-haired girl said as she came down the stairs into the kitchen. "Shut up you!" Ryu snapped back at her. "What? It's not like I'm saying anything that isn't true." The girl calmly stated as she poured herself a glass of orange juice. "Phuong! Don't you dare say such things. Your brother Ryu is going through a difficult time in his life, he has to leave and go a journey of learning and personal growth. And he has to do it two years earlier than his cousins did. But I know he'll do just fine, and he'll make me proud." said Mom. Ryu smiled at his mother's comment and glared at his sister as he walked past her. He snatched an apple out of a bowl and began to munch it. "I'm gonna go finish packing." Ryu said bluntly. He stormed off to his room. The mother turned to her daughter, "I really wish you two would get along. This is the last couple of days you'll get to see you're brother for a long time." Phuong just looked to the side and remained silent.

Ryu finished packing his backpack. It was stuffed to the brim but at the same time well organized. Ryu lifted it up to judge it's weight. It was easily 40 pounds. Ryu was hoping to keep it lighter, but since he was going on his own, he had to make sure he had everything he needed, even if it meant having to endure additional weight. It's not like he wasn't used to carrying heavy things. His father made him carry bags of flour, potatoes, rice, etc. Ryu set his bag down next to his door. Ryu began to walk back down the stair but half way down, his father came up. As they past, his father spoke first. "Ryu." "Hayato" "Call me Dad." "No thanks." Ryu finished as he reached the bottom of the stairs and entered the kitchen. He walked past some guy dressed up in a chef's outift. He ran up to Ryu paniced. "Have you seen your father?" "He just went upstairs." "Thank you young Sinclair." the chef said before running up the stairs. "I have a name dammit!" Ryu yelled at the chef. Just as Ryu was about to leave the kitchen he spotted a sandwich with his name on it. literally, there was a noddle sub with a card next to it saying Ryu. It was in Mom's handwriting. Ryu grabbed the sub and began to eat it as he walked into the yard.

Ryu finished eatting his sub and did 100 sit ups and 100 push ups. "There, a quick morning exercise." Ryu looked over to the restuarant that was built to the side of their house. It was already hussling and bussling. "I'll be glad to leave this place. I don't need this anyways. I'll be leaving tomorrow." Ryu said with anger in his voice. "I'll show them all. I've been pushed the hardest and now I'll be able to push back. I'm strong, the strongest!" Ryu yelled as he punched a tree in the yard, smashing off the bark where he hit the tree. "Ow." Ryu said calmly as he withdrew his fist. "The sooner I leave the better." Ryu turned and walked away, leaving his mark on the tree.

Later that night, Ryu went to dinner. And it was big. All the chef's and waiter's in the restuarant were there, food was everywhere, and banners were hung on the wall. Ryu looked at the spread layed out before him. It was practically a buffet. Steak, potatoes, salad, soup, ribs, corn, breads, pasta, rice, and pudding. Hayato stood up and annouunced, "The guest of honor is here! Everyone waits, until Ryu "Oni-Kagen" Sinclair, my first born child, fixes his plate." Ryu scowled at his title "Oni-Kagen" because it meant Demon's Temper, and that was the title given to him by his own father. Ryu calmly stated three words,"I'm not hungry." And with that, he walked back upstairs, leaving the entire room speechless. Hayato was the first to speak up,"I'm going up there and I'm bringing him down with me by force if need be!" But before he got to the bottom of the stairs, Siofra dashed in front of him. "Siofra, you're not stopping me this time." Hayato growled. "Let me try first. If I can't get him down here, when you can try, but let me try first." Siofra demanded. "Fine." Hayato said, knowing that his wife had a much better chance at getting his son to come down willingly. Siofra knocked on Ryu's door and entered closing the door behind her. Five minutes later, the two came down stairs and Ryu cut himself a piece of steak, grabbed a potato, a cob of corn, a bread rool, a bowl of salad, and a cup of pudding. "Let's dig in!" Ryu shouted, causing the hungry room to cheer with joy before rushing over to the tables. Hayato leaned over to his wife ans whispered in her ear, "How'd you do that?" "It's a secret, honey." Siofra said with a wink. After hours of eatting, drinking, story telling, and laughs, the party ended. Ryu got to go to his room and sleep, while the rest cleaned up. Ryu had a big day tomorrow, and he deserved a good night's sleep.

Ryu woke up the next morning feeling refreshed and revitalized. It was the first time all week he got a good night's sleep. It was probably all the food he ate. Ryu opened his door and went to the bathroom. As he reached out, his hand bumbed into another. He looked over to see is sister reaching for the door handle too. After a few seconds of stare dwons, his sister redrew her hand, which surprized Ryu. "Why?" Ryu asked. "It's your last shower for a while... I..... you deserve to have it warm." Phuong said sincerely. "Okay, you are you and what did you do with my sister?" Ryu said. "Oh get over yourself, I'm trying to nice. Jeez, after today, I won't have to race to the bathroom, it'll be all mine, so enjoy my kindness while you can big brother." She said before turning around and storming off muttering something about how stupid Ryu was. Ryu chuckled and went in to take his shower. He finished and came out and put on his favorite outfit again. Good way to start off a journey he figured. Before he could start braiding his hair someone grabbed his long hair and began to tie it it for him. "Is that Phuong?" "Yeah" "What are you doing?" "Your hair stupid." "I know but why?" "Because, it always looks better when I do it for you, after all I can see what I'm doing back here." "Hey sis?" "Yeah?" "Remember when we were younger and we used to take turns doing this?" "Yeah." "Those were good times." "Yes they were bro." After Phuong finished braiding RYu's hair, they got up and went down to breakfest, where Siofra was finishing cooking omelets. "You two are just in time." siofra said with a smile. Ryu and Phuong sat down next to eachother, something that Siofra hadn't seen in a long time. This made her smile. The two ate the omelets. Mom's omelets are always so light and fluffy Ryu thought. Soon after, Hayato came into the kitchen from the restuarant on the other side of the house. "Morning boy. I guess this is it. You're off to go make something of yourself. I'm proud." "Well it's not like I have much of a choice now do I?" Ryu said killing the mood. "Listen I'm sorry. I know I'm making you leave early. The age for the personal journey in the Sinclair family is 18, but with the King's yearly check-up approaching, I feel it would be best for all of us if you left now." "So, you're kicking me out so I don't ruin anything for you!?! Why not just lock me up in my room for a week!" Ryu shouted. "Listen, son. I love you, you may not believe it but it's true. I don't want you to leave, not like this. But you haven't made any personal progress in over two years. I've tried everything. Everything I can teach you, you've already learned, and everything you haven't leared, you simply aren't ready for. There's nothing here for you. You need to go out into the world, and find what will make you into a man. And I hope, that maybe you'll find something out there to quell that temper of yours. And when you do. Come back, visit us. And I promise... I will change your title." Hayato sat down, having said everything he had to say. The rest of the family was shocked. Hayato was a man of very few words. He usually never spoke so long in one turn. Ryu stood up, sliding his chair back. "You promise? You'll change my title? You'll stop calling 'Oni-kagen'?" Hayato stood up and looked his son square in the eyes. "I swear on my word as a Sinclair, If you change your ways and overcome your temper, I will have your title as 'Oni-Kagen' removed and replaced with something more suiting." Ryu knew that s Sinclair's word was his bond, he had just made a promise that had to be kept. "Fine, its a deal. I'll overcome my temper and I'll come back, and you WILL change my title Dad! I'm going to show you!" Ryu declared. Hayato smiled, having been called Dad by Ryu finally after so long. "Then it's settled. Here." Hayato grabbed a ten pound bag of potatoes and straped it to Ryu's backpack. "What's that?" Ryu asked. "You're first days' meals. Cook them and eat them as you see fit, because once their gone, you're on you're own as far as food goes." Hayato explained. "Fine, I'll live on potatoes for a few days, no sweat." Ryu said, as he put on his backpack, now weighing 50 pounds. "Ugh." Ryu grunted. "You okay? Ya sure you can carry all that?" Hayato asked condinsendingly. "This is nothing! I can carry this all day everyday!" Ryu responded. "That's good... 'cause you're gonna be." Hayato said with a chuckle. Ryu walked to the door, and took one last look at his home. He turned to his family and waved. but before he could get through the door, his mom ran over and tapped him on the shoulder. "What is it?" Ryu turned around and saw his mom holding his water bag. "You almost forgot your water." "Opps. thanks Mom. I love you." Ryu said but before he could turn around his mom enbraced him in a big hug. His sister Phuong ran over and hugged him too, and finally his dad Hayato walked over and joined in the family hug. After they all let go, Ryu walked out of the place he had called home for so many years, he was taking the first steps of his long journey to manhood.

Ryu walked down the street, grabbing his quater-staff off the fence as he went. He always hid his quarter-staff in the fence, so his sister wouldn't get it. He figured it was so light it wouldn't matter, and it was worth bringing something to use for defense, plus it'd make a decent walking stick. As he reached the outer district of the city, he pulled out his map and asked himself a very important question. "I wonder where I should go?" Ryu took a minute to sit down and study his map.

Ryu finally folded up his map, having dicided on what he'd do.
"I'll go as far north as I can, get as far from home as possible. Maybe I'll go to Kirtan or something. Then once I'm as far from home as I can be. I'll work my way back, visiting they cities and villages along the west coast as I travel back south. Then, by the time I get back, I'll have matured enough to get a new title. So, first get as far away asa I can, to detere me from going back home too soon, then work my way back. Alright, it's decided."
Ryu grabbed his staff, stood up and headed north.
