We'd like all members to introduce themselves by briefly describing yourself. Please include basic information you feel comfortable disclosing such as name, age, and gender, as well as your current and future academic and career goals and aspirations. I'm sure everyone would also like to hear why you are studying psychology or sociology. You're also more than welcome to discuss each other here. Talk in detail about interests, disinterests, etc.
Of course, I'll start things off.
My name is Alexander Marion, I am male, despite my deceptive avatar. I'm 20 years old, turning 21 in August. Currently I'm studying psychology and sociology at the University of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia Canada. I'm hoping to become a therapist some day. If you've read the guild home page, you'll know why I created the guild. I'm taking psychology, because I'm an avid believer in the power of the mind, and I love helping people over come psychological obstacles big and small. Back in high school, I always enjoyed being the "go to" guy in a group of all girls, and still do.

Adria Tryphenia My name is Virginia, also known as Ginny. I'm 18, and will be turning 19 in late-July. I'm currently a senior in high school. Next year I will be going into my first year of college at University of North Texas to get my Bachelor's of Science in biology, after which I plan to move to the pacific northwest to work up to my ph.D in microbiology. I want to become a researcher of diseases and viruses to discover cures and new treatments. While I'm not majoring in psychology, I still very much enjoy discussing it and want to take a few basic psychology courses in college to feed that penchant. I love a good mental challenge. In fact, I'm actually not happy unless I keep my mind active with learning new things and thinking deep into things. Some say I'm a bit of an over-thinker. xD;; Welcome to the guild! You'd take a chem minor with that B.Sc. right?

Perhaps it's possible to minor in both...

Perhaps it's possible to minor in both... I know most schools offer either two extended minors, a major and a minor, or a joint major. I've never heard of a major and two minors. On the plus side, your degree will require more credits than your major, minor, and corequisites will cover, so you should be able to take 3 or 4 psych courses out for interest to fill in the wholes.

Actually, no. You can major and double-minor at most schools if you really want to. I've met people who have triple-majored, even; I'm sure a double-minor's quite possible if you're driven. 3nodding Though it may take longer, and it may be wise to just stick with using your electives to pursue your interest in psychology, unless you want to take on another potential year in school.
Oh, yes, so. I should probably introduce myself for the people I don't know, huh? Well, let's see. You may call me by any variation of my username, or just 'hey, you.' Hell, I'll respond to pretty much anything. I'm eighteen, and more than ready to graduate from high school in a month, though I'm not sure how I'll survive through all of this AP testing I have. I'm attending UC Berkeley next year, and (hopefully) pursuing a major in psychology; Cal has limited space in the psych. program, so I have to be better than average. I may also major or minor in something else, though I'm uncertain which yet. But hey, I have two years to decide; I'm leaning towards classics, literature, or even religion. I then plan to get my PhD in psych., though I have no idea what I'll do with it yet; perhaps counseling, or something. My interest in psychology began two years ago when I took it as a high school class for a semester. It wasn't very, ah, in-depth, but iI found it interesting. I enrolled in another psychology class (that I should get college credit for, woohoo!) during a summer I spent in Cambridge, England, and I'm still in contact with my professor to this day. While I'm not exactly the most knowledgable of the subject, I know a bit, and enjoy discussions about it very much. I'm fascinated by human behavior and spend a lot of my time trying to understand actions and reactions, however successful I may or may not be. And...yeah. That's pretty much me.

I know my school doesn't offer that. If it did I'd be sorely tempted to double minor in sociology and criminology... But, as you said, it does seem like a lot of extra time and effort to spend on something out of pure interest. Once I get myself established as a therapist, I want to take night courses and get a little degree in forensic psychology or just crim maybe. Anyway, welcome to the guild. I hope you enjoy it~

...Ello friend...
My name is Shinta. I am a female. Currently 19. I love the field of psychology, and I hope that one day when I get my major that I may be able to help people over come trials of their own. I am a very optimistic person, although I do have a bit of horror taste. I am a dork at heart, but I will always deny it!
Don't class me as emo or anything. I am a Latterday Saint of Jesus Christ, and thats Mormon if you didn't know. I hate people that judge others by beliefs so I aint one of them. I have a tendency to bring up drama but only for the good. I can be super nice or super mean ^^ I don't hate anyone and love to make friends with everyone. I am horrible with names and birthdays, just a fair warning. I have my own values that I stick too. I don't judge anyone if they don't follow mine. I love ducks, penguins and pandas! I love Orange Chicken but not as much as my honey. I am always up for an adventure, well sorta. I have never been happier then I am now, due to my amazing honey. (He does put up with me, which is a lot of drama)
I am observer. I enjoy passing my time simply by just watching people. And when I say watch, I mean observe. Actions, expressions, words. I am fascinated with the minds of others.
I love talking and listening. Life stories, personal problems, you name it! I am always willing to lend an ear or a hand.
