Recently in my Honors Biology class we've been talking about eco systems. We started about biotic factors including people and we watched An Inconvienant Truth.
First of all, I found much information online displaying disgust and mistake in the movie-on wikipedia (try global warming controversy).

On top of his "facts" it was presented in an unprofessional matter. Besides the showing of "the slideshow" there were several scenes- close ups of him sitting in his car. And clips of his failed election("that was a blow"), then clips of Regan, Gerge Bush Senoir, and others discussing climate change. It also kept talking about his personal life, when his 6 year old was hit by a car(what does that have to do with anything), his farm raising cattle, growing tobacco, his father quiting growing tobacco because the wife died of lung cancer (does he want people to feel bad for him too).
Introducing himself as "I used to be the next president of the united states".

And he uses funny animations ( I think to appeal to children) to show ideas. Did he need to animate the frog jumping out of boiling pot of water vs a frog in a pot of water while being heated. no

Reminds me of a DVD I own called, "Why We Fight". From what I read on the back of the DVD, it was supposed to cover our foreign policy from World War II to present. It didn't. Pretty much the whole thing stayed on the Iraq War and how wrong/bad it was. Also went on some conspiracy BS.

Gore's little film is a propaganda piece. It's listed as such for British schools because there are so many factual errors in it. And, even the Left derides it - not because they realize it's a scam, but because it's an homage to how great Gore is rather than a scientific documentary.

It ought not to be shown in life sciences classes, but in social studies with an examination of modern propaganda pieces.

one interesting thing about that movie... when he uses the fancy smancy graphs showing the level of carbon compared to the earth median temperature... he shows it zoomed all the way out. This is supposed to display that when carbon levels do up, so to the temperature rises...

This is not at all correct. For if he was to zoom his graph in to see the REAL comparison, it would show that when the temperature goes up, the levels of carbon in the atmosphere follows the temperature. NOT the other way around..

Was anyone listening to Savage the other day, or know who Lord Monkton is?

http://www.realcrash.com/gore-carbon-futures-lord-monkton/

Seems there was some sort of meeting on Global Warming, with "surprise celebrity guests." The erroneous side's surprise guest was politician Al Gore. The reality side's guest was Lord Monkton, someone who has done his research on climate changes. The erroneous side banned Monkton from speaking since they were afraid of Monkton wiping the floor with Gore, and were able to get Newt Gingrich instead. Seems Gingrich is less trustworthy than Monkton so he was a safer opponent for them.

What kind of deviltry is this that skeptics aren't allowed to speak??
