Near the southern side of Gaioh lies the divine rock temple that sits on top of a mountain. Zen Monks are seen walking through out the grounds of the temple performing daily acts of choirs and prayer. The Zen monks confine them self’s within the temple grounds away from the Gaioh society, though some are known to travel through the village to pick up supplies or to travel to mount gaioh. Most of the Zen monks are known to perform Fuunijutsu know as the art of sealing. They use this technique to seal away demons or exorcise evil spirits from ones body. The monks do not engage there self’s in conflict but if they see fit they will protect and defend there selfs.Entrance Temple Temple rulesRules 1.Please remove your shoes when entering the temple. 2.Please refrain from any intoxicating substances such as sake - only sacramental wine is permitted. 3. Shin drifted through the forest in the village outskirts near the southern tip, he did not have any idea where he was going but he had just continued, it was pure instincts that lead the way. Shin came across an old fashion wooden rope bridge, it looked worn out, it seemed that it will crumble anytime but knowing shin he would go ahead and try to cross that bridge, without thinking it through. He slowly and hesitantly placed one foot after the other onto the surface of the bridge, the Sound of cracking wood put a chill down Shin’s body, he watched down below seeing the raging water move at unimaginable speeds, by now he was already half way there until he had stepped onto a weak wooden board, his foot got stuck and Shin began to panic a bit, he hopelessly tried to pull his leg out but it would not come out, he was stuck. So Shin did something completely reckless, he punched a wider hole in the wooden board causing it to shatter a few other boards. Shin was hanging on another board he tried to pull himself up but that to snap and all you can see is shin plummeting 50 feet into the raging river. Shin used all his might to try to swim and grab something, a wooden board came falling from the sky while shin continued to swim but he was knocked unconscious and his efforts were proven useless. An unconscious dreadlock ninja floated down stream until a mysterious figure suddenly grabbed shin from out of the water. Who could this mysterious figure be? Is it friend or Foe?
Shin laid in a bed inside of dark room asleep, where only a small lit candle could be seen to the right side of him. His backpack was neatly placed to the side as well as his usual clothing. His dread-locks were untied from its usual tail. Thoughts began to begin flow through Shin’s mind, thoughts of doubt, and doubts of his strength of being a ninja. Buried thoughts deep in the back of Shin’s mind began to pop up, he remember on mount Gaioh a silvered hair man with violet bright glowing eyes told him one thing "...If you want to gain power, then get up to go find that so called "Strength"...Cause it wont magically come to you....” Shin suddenly awoke from his slumber in a cold sweat; he was wearing nothing but a tank top and his boxers. He looked around with a look of confusion on his face. “Where the hell am I?! And how did I get hear…wait... now I remember. I fell from that bridge, someone must have saved me….But who? Shin hopped form out of the bed and headed towards his pants and he put them on. He walked out of the room, and wondered through the halls, the large pillars caught shin’s attention. He finally came near a giant door and opened it only for his eyes to be set upon a giant Buddha statue, he eyed the large peace of gold until something or someone touched him from behind on to his shoulder. Shin turned around only to see a tall bald man with a long gray beard that fell down to his stomach area, he wore the traditional prayer beads around his neck. His eyes were shut, he slouched on his wooden cane and he began to speak.
“Ah, I see you are awake, you’re lucky to be alive young one. My name is Kinaga, head monk of the rock temple. You are currently miles away from you’re Village. You are free to leave anytime you want just promise me one thing…” He said with a deep raspy Voice and with a stern look on his face “…That you without any circumstances that you reveal the location of the rock temple with out my permission, other than that you are ok...”
Shin looked at the old man and was taken by his sudden out burst but he understood him loud and clear. “ My name is Shin and If you don’t mind sir, is it ok if I can stay here a bit longer?
The Bald man looked down at Shin analyzing him. “Hmmp, Shin. What an interesting name." He said to himself. “Fine Do as you like, but if you’re going to live hear then are to train like us, do choirs and daily acts of prayer understood?”
Shin looked at the monk with excitement and was thrilled to hear his answer. “Wooo Hooo!” was all Shin could say.
"Right now I want you to go and rest up young one, you have a day full of things to do tomorrow. You know where you room is I assume.." with those words the Monk walked out from the room leaving Shin alone.

The next day had arrived and it was the crack of dawn, Shin was still sleep in his bed, until the door slammed wide open, waking him up. He fell from out of his bed and got on. “Awe man what time is it?!
Kinaga looked at Shin and spoke. “It is now 4:00am in the morning; the time to begin the daily prayer has begun. “Now come quickly, quickly!!” Shin was barely awake, he could not even put his pants on, and he stumbled a few times then finally got them on. His eyes were crusty from being asleep. Shin followed the monk to the room they had met before; he looked only to discover that there were more monks here, younger and older than he, there were rolls and columns of them. The Monk led Shin to a spot in-between two other monks that looked to be the exact same age as Shin.
Shin looked around and bit, he did not know what to do so he copied the monk that sat beside him; he placed his hands together and interlocked all fingers but the two pinky fingers that were extended. This continued for about 30mins, the prayer was now over. Shin walked out of the temple outside where he saw other monks in the training field practicing some sort Chinese martial art. Once again from behind some one had laid there hand on Shin’s shoulder; he turned around to only see kinaga. “Is there anything you need Sir..?”
Ah, as a matter a fact I do. You see those two buckets over there? I need you to go fill the both of them with fresh water. Walk down the entrance stairs, and there you will come near the river, understood?
“That should be no problem...” Shin said as he took the two buckets from near the wall and walked towards the entrance, his Jaw dropped from the shear sight of how steep the stairs where. “I have to walk all the way down there and back?!” Shin began to walk down the stairs, he figured if he continued to complain he wouldn’t get anywhere. So he just walked down the stone maid stairs, this took quite a while but he eventually maid it down. He walked towards the river Kinaga had mentioned earlier and dipped the two buckets into the river gather a sum of water. He then began to walk back up the temple stairs. Again this also took a while to accomplish but he had finally maid it again. He placed the two buckets of water down, panting from using all his energy to walk up those stairs. He flicked a few strands of his dread-locks and looked in front of him only to see Kinaga sitting on a mat with an umbrella lounged into the ground, stroking a small paper fan around his face trying to keep cool from the summer heat.
“Ah I see you have maid it, follow me. Shin followed the old man towards the temple kitchen; he had the buckets of water in both of his hands. “Now sit those buckets of water right there on the counter. Shin did as he is told. The monk reached over the counter and pulled a small tea pot and two tea cups. He dipped the tea pot into the bucket and gathers enough water he needed, he then placed it in a pot that sat over a hot flame. After a few minutes or so the water was boiling and now the monk had fresh boiling water, he poured the tea mix into the pot and handed Shin a cup.
Shin looked at the old man, with a strict piercing look that will scare anyone. “Is this what you maid me do, walk all the way down the stairs and back up for TEA!!!!!!!!!”
Kinaga didn’t say much as he sipped his tea but he did reply. “Yes, you should try some” The monk sipped his tea once again and looked at Shin.
Shin took the cup and sipped some tea as well, his eyes widen. “Mmmm what kind of tea is this..?
The monk replied and said “Green tea...” he said as he took another sip from his cup, after a few minutes or so the monk was finished with his cup, shin was two. “Come with me, young one…its time to test your skills on the training field.”
Shin quickly stood up from his sitting position and followed the monk outside near the training field, it seemed that the other monks where done with there daily training.
Kinaga played with his long gray beard and looked at the young boy before him. “Do you practice any particular style of martial art shin?
“Well I do practice Capoeira, and I do dabble in some grappling techniques. Shin said as he moved his hands through his dread locks.
Kinaga eyed Shin for a moment, “A Brazilian martial art, and here in these lands? Very Intriguing, this should be fun.” He said to himself. “Prepare your self Shin!” the monk ripped off his robe and was only wearing his baggy pants with a black stash going across them. Kinaga threw his wooden cane to the side, he cracked his back and stretched a little, he was no longer slouching, and his body looked well toned for his age. He had to guard bracelets on both of his wrist. He extended his right arm out with his palm open and his left arm back with his hand hooked.

Shin Broke his stance into a vivid movement called the "ginga"[Jiinga-ka]. He is standing in a lunge with the right foot forward and flat on the ground and with the left foot back and arched. The toes of both of his feet were pointing forward. Only the toes and ball of his left foot are press onto the floor. His left leg is stretched out, the torso and pelvis facing forward. The lower part of his back was kept straight. His shoulders were down. His right arm was hanging down and was relaxed in a gently clasped fist. The left arm bent at the elbow at a 90-degree angle. The left forearm was out in front of the face. The left hand was in a gently clasped fist, with the wrist rotated so that the thumb is on top. Shin did all of this while keeping his eyes on Kinaga, that is the number one rule of capoeira. Shin circle Kinaga, Moving from the first position to he second position, he switch his arms. Throws the right leg back, balancing on the left foot. Straighten the right leg and press on the ball and toes of the right foot onto the floor. Shin gently moved his torso forward by shifting at the hips, keeping his head directly above his hips, so to balance on the right foot. By the strength of the inner thighs he pulls the left leg forward and press the ball and toes of the left foot onto the floor. His left kneecap was very near to the back of the right knee, and both of his knees remained bent. This is called a Queixada [Kay-sha-da]. He Rotate the arms so that both hands are in front of the body. Using the strength of the upper right thigh and right abdomen, he throws the right leg upward as high as possible towards Kinaga’s directions, straightening it as it rises. If Kinaga doges this move or some how Counter’s it Shin would perform an au [ah-OO] witch is a simple cart wheel to the side. The monk kept his eyes on Shin, he watched his movements witch were powrful and yet aggressive at the same time, he saw Shin coming in for a kick and used his forearm to block it, he then uses his other arm to grabbed Shin’s leg, he then sweeps his left leg towards the ankle of Shin’s only leg that he is balancing on. Shin fell onto the ground but dove backwards back into the ginga position, he then moves in closer and performs an outwards kick towards Kinaga. The kick connected but did no damage at all. “Kinaga began to laugh, is that all you got Shin?” He sucked in his stomach and pushed Shin’s leg back, thus throwing Shin off balance once again. Kinaga then began to circle Shin around in a faster past getting closer and closer towards his back until he finally did, Shin did his best to try and turn around but the monk seem to be following shins movements stopping him from even turning around to meet eyes with the monk until finally the monk knocked Shin out from behind his neck. Shin fell to the ground and after a few moments Shin was awoke. The monk was again wearing his traditional robe he was leaning on his cane again, it was like he went through some sort of transformation when he fought Shin.“What was the name of that style you just used? Shin said as he rubbed the back of his neck” Kinaga smirked at Shin and begun to explain “Ba Gua Zhang, it is recognized as one of the three orthodox "internal" styles of Chinese martial art (the other two being Xing Yi Quan and Tai Ji Quan). Ba Gua literally translates to Eight trigrams. These trigrams are symbols which are used to represent all natural phenomena as described in the ancient Chinese text of divination, the Book of Changes Zhang means palm and designates Ba Gua Zhang as a style of martial art, which emphasizes the use of the open hand in preference to the closed fist. Ba Gua Zhang, as a martial art, is based on the theory of continuously changing in response to the situation at hand in order to overcome an opponent with skill rather than brute force. It's most basic technique is known as "turning the circle", forming a continuous circular movement in your defenses. And that is what I simply used to respond towards you. Your movements are powerful but lack control and patients. Kinaga paused for a moment and said. "todays lesson is over you may have some free tiem to your self".Shin bowed and walked off, he then wondered through the temple hoping to make yet another amzaing discovery.

~Three days later~ It was the crack of dawn and Shin was at the edge of the Temple stairs just sitting there watching the bright orange sun raise from the horizon. He glanced down at the village and singed. Suddenly from behind Shin could hear wooden Sandals clanking across the ground heading towards his direction. He turned his head only to see Kinaga. Good morning master kinaga, what brings you up so early in the morning? The elderly man stroked his hand through his long white beard. His Eyes Shut closed. “I could ask the same thing to you, young one. He moved both of his hands together, thus placing each hand in one sleeve in the other. He waited for Shin’s reply.“Well am heading back to my village” he said while walking down the stairs. Kinaga waved towards the boy and said. “Do return young one, you are always welcome to return here…”
