Hey I am sorry if this has been posted before but I searched and could not find anything. What does everyone think of HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS being split into two movies?

Where should it be split?

Is it a good idea?

DO you like the fact that David Yates is directing?

Who would you have preferred?

Yeah, about that...

I guess I can sort of understand why they're doing it. If they were to squeeze it into one movie, that would be a rather long movie. Hopefully, though, they aren't planning on dwelling forever on their time "on the run" and their camping stuff.

But even though I understand why, I still think it's silly. What are they going to call them? "Deathly Hallows, pt. 1 & 2?" There are only seven books for seven years. Eight movies for seven years? Or maybe the last year doesn't really count because they aren't in school..? Bah!

David Yates, meh.. I guess he's all right.

Edit before posting: Oh, they ARE planning on calling them "Part 1" and "Part 2." Whoo.

Well I am rereading the book again. And for me I would split at this part. When they learn of the Hallows at teh Lovegood house.

I wouldn't split it. : Definitely not. sad It just seems kind weird. There's no huge climax of the book where they could make a really good cliffhanger, or a satisfying ending for the movie on it's own.

Al Murray gives an interesting suggestion of where they should split the book at the end of the interview with Rupert Grint.

I think it's a great idea to split the movies because I think the bulk of the movie is goign to be towards the end, for the final battle and I think the search and process of the Horcrix is very important to show.
There's sooooooo much in this book and to cut anything out wouldn't be wise.

I have mixed feelings about them splitting the book into two movies.

Pros:
1. It would be cool having one more HP movie to watch, since the seventh year is the last book.
2. They would be able to go into greater detail of the events with two movies.
3. It is just more hours of watching HP.

Cons:
1. It is the seven years of Hogwarts.
2. Most of the book is of them traveling around.
3. Lord of the Rings is a four and a half hour movie (extended versions). And three of them are like that.

Yea, so I am not really sure.
