(Are you kidding? I'm not posting this with my main, lol. Especially not after finding out that Gaia is banhappy.)
A friend of mine IRL is among the victims. I know for a fact that they have never botted. I just wanted to comment that I usually buy quite a few Gaia store items, and have purchased quite a few monthly collectibles from the site. I won't be doing so anymore until my friend is unbanned.
Actually there have been times when I purchased 20 to 40 items a month.
I'm really disappointed in this turn of events. If I was Gaia I would simply unban ALL of the March 10th victims, guilty or not. I would rather have 100 guilty rogues running rampant than to punish a single innocent. How dare you Gaia!!! scream
Actually even if my friend is unbanned, I will always think twice about purchasing anything from here. They may be free to ban anyone they wish, and give absolutely no reason for doing so, but they should also suffer financially for doing so. If it wasn't for your supporters, then where would you be Gaia?
Actually I'm still yet waiting on Gaia to help another friend get their account back. It's been almost a year now since it was stolen.
Greedy greedy Gaia. Always just making more store items and focusing on events rather than helping the victims. When will you learn to value your patrons more than your wallet?
I have been wondering. Do moderators have the power to ban, but not the power to unban a member of Gaia? I do not think a moderator should be trusted with the power to permanently ban someone, if they can't be trusted with the power to unban someone.
Also, a moderator should only have the power to temporarily ban a member. If after a week or so, the member continues to cause problems then it should be up to an admin beyond that point. I think moderators have too much power on Gaia. I mean what is to prevent them from going around on a power trip and banning whomever they please? What is to prevent them from just telling the admins that people are botting? I mean, moderators are not paid. They are just normal people like you and me. I think they should only have the power to move posts, delete threads, and directly report things to the admins (and temp ban problem makers until the admins can deal with it).
Also, I think that when an account has been banned, that the reason should be posted on their profile with PROOF! If this person used a method to bot or cheat that can be repeated, then FIX YOUR GAME!! And then ban the offender, and then give proof of their botting. You really should consider giving the fishing game its long overdue overhaul. I got tired of the fishing game after getting a few bronze trophies, and from my experience it was very much flawed. I bet there are millions of buckets lost every month (if not every day) on Gaia fishing. Should I even bother to mention your crappy bait system? (I laugh at your D bait, haha!)

I totally agree.
Funny thing: I sent a report to the Better Business Bureau without naming my account.... Gaia said, "No money back. No account. You bot" but they didn't even know who I was!
Just goes to show you where their priorities are.
I'm never buying anything on this site ever again!

i am appreciative of how responsive the admins have been about this incident. however, there are still a lot of people who remain banned but indicate that they have never botted.
i still do not know why my account was banned. i certainly did not bot. it would've been nice if i know what it was about my account activities that have led the admins to ban me, so that i would refrain from doing those activities again. i mean, those activities could be as inane as fishing more than 10 buckets a day. what if i unwittingly do those activities again? i don't want to log in tomorrow and find that this account is banned again.
the fear of being accused again for something i did not do and losing my account again is preventing me from donating to gaia. right now i am selling off item hoards so that i have enough gold to buy noncommons that are just released. perhaps i will donate when i run out of hoards to sell. i'm hoping i won't have to make that decision for a very long time.

I was one of those banned on March 10. I was so shocked at first because I didn't know it involved a lot of people. When I found out there were a lot banned with me and it was a mistake, I wasn't concerned anymore, especially when they admitted it was an error.
But now...I am concerned. Things don't look good. They said it was a mistake so why are they taking so long. If they want to give us our accounts back, I will be happy to accept mine back, so what is the hold up?
I am guilty of donating and getting a few bunnies because they were so cute, but I will refrain from donating anymore until they make everything right again. If I see anything else I love, I will just do like others and sell stuff I don't want and get the stuff I do want.
I am luckier than most. Lady Suzine was like a pauper. I was worried about being hacked last year so I moved her nice stuff to another account, so my goodies are safe.
I won't compete anymore though, if they keep her banned. I wanted to get the last 2 trophies I needed on Lady Suzine's account. I don't want anymore trophies if I can't have her back.
I am willing to give her up now. At first I couldn't comprehend being on here without my Main Account, but I will try to remake her and get her stuff back she is missing.
I am terribly sorry that some of you lost a great deal of items and money on the avis that got banned. I really hope the best for you.
