~ Age - 17
~ Hobbies - Taking pictures. She has a few small albums in her bag where she stores only her most favorite pictures.
~ Likes - dancing, sweet foods, shinies, talking, traveling
~ Dislikes - her ...habit, people yelling at her, alleys
~ Personality - To put it simply, Ume is a bit of a vagabond. She travels by bus from place to place, picking up odd jobs for the short while she stays somewhere, and stays in budget motels or finds a nice warm grate to curl up on. She sends letters to her mother, but otherwise doesn't have much contact with her small family. She's cheerful and likes to talk, but she is self-conscious, and can get flustered if someone is very blunt or forward.
She's also a kleptomaniac. She claims that objects, usually small and shiny, though not always, call to her and entice her with their sparkliness. She knows it's not right to steal, and has gotten in trouble for it several times, but she can't help herself. Still, she tries her best to distract herself from the voices, and has recently gotten the idea that maybe if she could save up for a cd player or MP3 player, she could listen to music and down them out.
This same problem is the reason she didn't get along well in school. She never meant to take anything, but things just sort of ended up in her hands or bag, and then she was too embarrassed to give it back. Not to mention the object of her fancy didn't seem to quiet down once she had it.
So, last year at the end of school, she decided she wasn't going to go back. She couldn't deal with the accusatory stares and the suspicion directed towards her. This decision to not go back makes her even more of an outcast, with all the people that are her age getting ready to choose their colleges, etc. She would attend school if she could, now that she's away from where she grew up, but monetary problems make it a problem to do so, as well as complacency with how her life is going at the moment.

 ~ Purin - Purin was the first Mew she met, though she didn't know it at the time. She likes Purin, especially the other's cheerful attitude. She also enjoys her tricks.
